Lady Eileen is ninety-nine, richer than kingdoms, and tired of being treated like a dried-up old woman. She spends eighty million gold coins on a beautiful pureblood vampire, Adrian, hoping he'll drink her aged blood and restore her youth. Instead, Adrian rejects her and kneels for her scheming cousin Vera. So Eileen buys Victor, a wounded, lowborn vampire from the blood market.
