00:22separated by few my name is Matthew Brian Brown and I'm a youtuber I make
00:28sort of wind I have a comedy channel on YouTube but um I've also I've also just
00:35gone through a lot of stuff in my life I see it was recently suicide prevention
00:40day and I figured I would give my slight story to you guys and hopefully some of
00:49the stuff I've gone through is something you can relate to and I'm I'm still here
00:54so basically this is me saying hey like maybe we've gone through the same stuff
01:00and we can still be happy so I am 23 I was born and raised in northern Alabama and
01:09just I've experienced a lot in life I have let's see where do I start my parents
01:16got divorced when I was very little I had a really hard time coping with that and I
01:21had a really bad anger issues so I actually went to see a counselor at a
01:26mental institute when I was maybe six or seven years old and they did everything
01:32from seeing like how how far do you space your drawings apart and when you draw
01:40roads like how wide are the roads and it was really psychological and I did that
01:46and kind of ultimately drew the line that I didn't really want to be that bully
01:51person because for a while I was being I guess a bully and I was getting in
01:55trouble a lot at school and I kind of decided that I really didn't want to do
02:00that I wanted to be a little different so went through that became the class clown
02:06and during that time of my youth I lost a really close friend of mine he died of a
02:15brain tumor and you know when you're little you to really don't understand
02:19like death and kind of like what death really is and you know what all it
02:24couldn't trail and so it was you know watching one of my best friends pass away
02:30and so that was really difficult and so that happened I kept going and I my mom
02:39she was with my stepdad and they had a whole lot of issues and honestly at one
02:46point in time they weren't together anymore and she got pregnant again with
02:50his child and I was just I as I was really upset because I was like you lied to
02:56me you told me you didn't feel this way about him and now you're pregnant again and
03:01I don't understand and so she moved to Tennessee and I stayed here and moved in
03:08with my dad and while at my dad's house I was at a whole new school just
03:14everything was so different and it was way stricter I had way more rules and
03:22boundaries and I just kind of did it it was a little rough at first but as time
03:29went on we discussed more and eventually we really became really good friends and
03:34so it was awesome because I built a really good relationship with my dad
03:38that I had on a whole new level because of something else happening while I was in
03:45high school I was still the class clown I was in key club I did things like
03:52charity events and helped people at one point in time I was the student elected to
03:56go to Boise State which is where you go and you learn under governors and mayors and
04:01basically learn to join the political party and I didn't do that I didn't do
04:06that I felt like that's not what I should do so I didn't do that hopefully
04:10this story isn't very boring right now haha okay during that time though my mom
04:15moved back to Alabama and I got back with my stepfather and had another child so I'm
04:2117 years older than one and 15 years older than the other I'm gonna be an old
04:27fart and so during high school I was kind of I didn't go out and do anything I
04:31didn't really go see the world I was very homebody and after I graduated I met
04:37this girl on a website and we were both running for a G4 TV competition and I
04:45really just like fell in love with her and so I started trying to talk to her
04:49and eventually we became good friends and started talking and like it got to a
04:52point to where we were both like you were amazing no you were amazing and we
04:56decided we were going to try to meet each other so I drove to Cincinnati to meet
05:01her at a nerd conference for destructoid if you don't know what that is I went to
05:06a NARP which is not apparent reason party to meet this girl and about five
05:11minutes before I get there she tells me hey like you know the guy running this
05:16thing it's my boyfriend I didn't know she had a boyfriend ah it's something that I
05:22did ask that she just didn't tell me and it just kind of happened she was like
05:27I'm sorry and it just kind of happened and so I was at this party and basically
05:33watching this girl that I was in love with tell me she was in love with me but I
05:37was having to watch her be with somebody else like literally hold hands with him
05:41hug him kiss him in front of me and it was very difficult I actually got drunk for
05:47the first time while I was there I was only like 18 I believe 18 or 19 and a
05:53buddy of mine got me a pass at the bar we were at and I got drunk and yeah haha
06:00that's not my answer to you guys don't drink the cover-up issues it for real it
06:05does not work so that's that's later on in the story okay so put up with that I
06:11went home we kept talking and she broke it up with him and so I went to stay with
06:16her in a different state for about two weeks and was just very in love with
06:21her I lost my virginity while I was there just it was an experience and so
06:29life was great and I moved back home to live with my dad and which I was still
06:37living with him but I moved back home and me and her just we couldn't things
06:42just couldn't work because a long distance she kept thinking I was cheating on
06:45her and so we got in a huge fight and the relationship was destroyed it just
06:50pretty much everything we had built was gone oh so I was going through a lot of
06:56stuff at my dad's house we were having a lot of issues then because I was
07:00going through all that stress and one night I decided I was gonna go get food
07:04at a curfew at midnight and I was like hey I'm gonna go down here and get food he
07:10was at work so it's not like I was coming home and gonna wake him up so I
07:14was like I'm going out here to get food and he was like if you're not home before
07:19midnight you best pack your stuff and get out well I was like I don't I'm really
07:23hungry and I'm with friends and I'm here right here at this place and he used to
07:28make me call him from the house phone so he would know I was at home well I was
07:33just like look like I want to stay here you're not even home I'm almost 19 years old
07:38why can I not stay out till like 1230 and shit hit the fan so that night I
07:45moved out of my dad's house and moved all my stuff into my friend's garage and then
07:51moved part of it into my grandmother's house and then I went to my mom's house
07:56and I lived with my mom for about a month sleeping on the floor in my sister's
08:02room on a mattress I actually have YouTube videos of this I had a rainbow bed and
08:07while I was there I met this other girl I was still having issues with the one
08:12girl that I thought I was in love with and basically that crashed and burned and
08:17I retaliated and found this other girl and after knowing her for about a week she
08:23moved to California so I was like oh wow I've always wanted to go to California
08:27and she said hey why don't you go with me so I did I knew her for about a week
08:33and I
08:34moved to California with her and how while I was there we slept in a twin bed
08:40and you know not much room for two people I really had no money I was making
08:45YouTube videos but just not enough to really survive off of I really went
08:50hungry a lot of the times taco Tuesday literally when Tuesday hit I bought as
08:56many tacos as I could and just survived off the tacos throughout the week so I was
09:02really broke and just going through a lot of stress and me and her broke up so I
09:08moved downstairs and slept on the couch so I was on the couch and just life was
09:12hard and she moved out so I moved upstairs into the room and I had the room while I
09:17was there I became friends with Shane Dawson that was still making tons of
09:20YouTube videos but life was just rough and I decided I wanted to go back home my
09:28family was going through some issues my grandfather wasn't doing really well
09:32money was really tight and I just decided hey I need to go back home this is rough
09:37so my roommates threw a going away party for me and I got really really drunk and I
09:45got really high honestly and to the point to where I lost my mind I was in the
09:52corner crying basically just going insane and I only knew these roommates for
10:00like two weeks or so so I lost my shit and it was really crazy and I remember at
10:06one point them putting me in the bed and me being like I'm gonna die like I
10:11couldn't even physically move my body or lift my head up from the pillow and they
10:15were like it'll be okay I'll see you in the morning and I was like wait wait
10:20pillow I hope so but yeah it was really insane so I woke up I was fine and was
10:28like hey guys sorry that was crazy and since I woke up late I was about five
10:33minutes away from my train and that was it that was the end of the story and I
10:37hopped on a train and went to a friend's house and they took me to the LAX so I
10:43got this story is so long but hopefully you've related at some point in time well
10:51ah this video is very long um so what I decided I would do is if you guys really
10:58like this video and you really I guess liked hearing my life story and
11:02hopefully related to it then next week I'll post I guess a part two and sort of
11:07continue my story everything I told you in this story was before the age of 21 so I
11:12still have a lot of crazy story to tell from my dad going pretty much crazy
11:18other friends of mine dying yeah life is sometimes very insane but um hmm people
11:33are on a trampoline over there so just remember that life goes on clearly you
11:40can hear life around me right now so try not to give up honestly maybe someday
11:47you'll be able to tell your story to somebody and help change their life and
11:52be like hey I went through something like that once and I got over it and this is
11:56how I got over it and you know I sometimes you just you know I'm sure you
12:03okay where well again stay positive you can do this and hopefully you enjoyed my
