High schoolers in France are back at the barricades this week in their protest movement that is rattling the government of President Emmanuel Macron.

Protests first erupted in the Paris region in mid-September.

Teachers and students mobilized against a lack of staff at a lycée, or high school, in Creteil, in the southeastern outskirts of the French capital. ( Video courtesy of Associated Press )

00:02What I want to tell you today is that it will take the time that it will take.
00:05If we need to dialogue with the Minister for adaptation,
00:09such as arbitrages of his part on the copy of the budget,
00:12if we need to get real engagement,
00:15we will be able to get to the end.
00:18I think that today, the Lycée are aware of what happens.
00:22It's been a dozen years on some revendications,
00:24such as the batiz scolaire,
00:25or the lack of professors that we try to beat
00:27or that we inform on the Minister of these issues.
00:33Today, what we say is that
00:37the Lycéans, for some,
00:40they feel not listened to for several years.
00:42So it's comprehensible that some find
00:48the only way of expression to block their Lycée.
00:58But there's a way to announce the answer.
00:59It's about the start.
00:59It's about the end of the year's mission.
00:59The victory that we have seen by the audience is not ready.
01:00It's about the end of the day.
01:01The next step is the end of the day's mission.
