Eight people were evacuated in the early hours of Tuesday morning after a fire broke out at Kingston's 800-year-old Market Place. Around 25 firefighters tackled the blaze, which destroyed several market stalls and damaged surrounding property frontages. No injuries were reported, and an investigation into the cause is now underway by the London Fire Brigade and Metropolitan Police.
