00:00London, listen up. A new overground line could be coming your way.
00:04We're putting forward plans for the West London Orbital, a new train line that would transform travel for those living
00:10and working in West London.
00:12The new line would run between Hounslow and Hendon, making use of existing railway lines currently used for freight.
00:19It would create four new overground stations, improve connections for thousands of Londoners and speed up journeys by over half
00:26an hour.
00:27And as with any infrastructure project, the benefits would go far beyond transport.
00:31The project could help unlock more than 25,000 new homes and support the creation of thousands of jobs, as
00:39well as cutting congestion and improving air quality.
00:42When I was re-elected mayor, I promised to strengthen transport links in outer London.
00:47And our plans for the West London Orbital are a major step towards delivering that promise.
