03:30fundó una charity based on that.
03:33Y ha creado y creado y creado.
03:36América sigue siendo el mayor lugar,
03:39con 15,000 wishes a año.
03:42Y ha creado un año.
03:44Y el internacional side, ahora,
03:47ha creado en casi 50 países,
03:49con 17,500 wishes a año.
03:53Así que ha creado de eso.
03:55Así que ahora mismo,
03:57Make-A-Wish ha dado más de 600,000 wishes.
04:02650,000.
04:03Así que más de 650,000 wishes worldwide.
04:08Y ha creado y creado.
04:10Y cuando nos reunimos con gente como Camila
04:12para establecerse en un país nuevo,
04:15también podemos dar los deseos.
04:17Lo que hacemos como una charity,
04:20sin los voluntarios.
04:21So, from volunteers,
04:24from doctors, nurses,
04:26in the hospitals,
04:27referring children to us,
04:29for people who work with the child
04:31to understand who they are,
04:33to capture their wish,
04:34to actually taking the child
04:36and the family,
04:37designing the wish,
04:38along the wish journey
04:39and anticipation
04:40and the wish day itself.
04:41All of it is curated
04:43through volunteering.
04:45And also volunteers to help
04:47with fundraising,
04:48for bringing in product
04:50to support wishes,
04:51to create experiences
04:53like the police wish,
04:54you know,
04:54the local police force
04:55or fire service
04:57or whoever it may be.
04:59So, the whole charity
05:00is based around volunteering
05:02and we are so grateful
05:03to every person
05:05who over the time
05:07has spent time with Make-A-Wish
05:09and continues to spend time
05:11with Make-A-Wish.
05:11The wish is one thing,
05:13but then the whole anticipation
05:15of a wish is another thing.
05:17So, I'm actually a wish father,
05:19so my youngest daughter had a wish
05:21and I remember the excitement
05:23that she felt
05:24in the build-up to the wish.
05:25And then after the wish,
05:27the follow-up
05:28and she was lucky enough
05:29to have other wish events.
05:31But the important thing is,
05:32it stayed with us all for life.
05:35You know, a wish is for life.
05:36So, we talk about it a lot,
05:38you know,
05:38and it's changed her life.
05:39It changed our lives.
05:41So, it's not just that
05:43sort of one-off.
05:45It's for life.
05:46So, the wish journey that we do
05:48is based in principles
05:51of positive psychology.
05:52It is based in science
05:54and those steps of the wish journey
05:56I talked about,
05:57it's all about engaging
05:59with the child
06:00and ultimately
06:01for the child and young person
06:02to flourish
06:03and to live well
06:04and adapt in the circumstances
06:06that they find themselves in
06:08through illness
06:08or whatever that may be.
06:10And I think Damien
06:10has just described
06:11beautifully how it's lasted
06:13for life really,
06:15for Damien
06:16and his daughter
06:16and his family.
06:17That every eligible child
06:19in the Dominican Republic
06:22is allowed
06:23to have their wish granted.
06:26And for that,
06:28Camilla has made
06:29a beautiful start.
06:30We're working with
06:32the medical community
06:34to find all those children
06:36and then working
06:37with the volunteers
06:38and working with
06:40all the supporters
06:42and all the corporates
06:44to help her
06:45and to help
06:45with the fundraising
06:46to make sure
06:47that every child
06:48that is eligible
06:49for a wish,
06:50who has, you know,
06:52a critical illness
06:53is allowed
06:54to have a wish granted.
06:55That's what I would wish
06:57for the Dominican Republic.
06:58Make a wish!
06:59Make a wish!
