Looking to upgrade your golf setup? In this comprehensive video, we review a wide range of push carts, including models from PowaKaddy, Motocaddy, and Big Max, breaking down the pros and cons of each before crowning an overall winner.
Transcript
00:00I've tested nine of the best pushcarts from 2026 to help you decide which is the best for your game.
00:05In this video, I take an in-depth look at a huge array of models ranging in price, weight and
00:11size.
00:11I'll go through the pros and cons of each individual model, including an intriguing wildcard option, before I declare my
00:18overall winner.
00:19Right, pushcarts, I've got nine models on test, eight with me here today.
00:22And before I go through each model one by one, giving you my pros and cons of each,
00:25I thought I'd give you a bit of a lay of the land and go through all nine in no
00:28particular order,
00:29giving you important stats like cost, weight, size when they're all folded up, stuff like that.
00:35So we're going to bring those up on screen now with some graphics.
00:37Feel free to pause them and take that all in.
00:39Right, that's the lay of the land.
00:41That's all the eight trolleys we're going to be going through for the rest of this video.
00:44Let's go through each model one by one.
00:46Right, first off, I'm starting with the Power Caddy Micra and I'm starting with the best looking of the bunch
00:51in my opinion.
00:51Hats off to the Power Caddy design team.
00:53It's sleek, it's pretty, it's the most desirable out of all the ones on test today as well.
00:57I just think it looks fantastic with whatever bag you end up putting on this.
01:02Practicality point of view, it just sort of sits in the middle.
01:04It's neither great nor terrible.
01:06It's standout feature for me is the folding system.
01:09It is a two-step system, but it's really quick.
01:11And as I said a minute ago, as of the cube folding mechanisms,
01:15which is the most popular way that all of these push carts fold up, it is the smallest.
01:18It is so compact when it's all folded up.
01:20It can fit into pretty much any car boot on the back seat, in your locker, in the clubhouse,
01:24depending on where you keep it, and that really stands out against all the other ones on test today.
01:30It's got a drinks holder built in, which I like.
01:32I like it when that's done.
01:34And the sort of handle storage is fine.
01:37It's okay.
01:38They've put a phone holder in the middle of it, which takes up a bit of the space, which I
01:41don't love.
01:42But hey, it is what it is.
01:43So for the Micro, for me, priced really well, engineered beautifully, very pretty.
01:48Folding mechanism is good.
01:49But quite simply, if you're after the smallest cube folding model out of the bunch, this is the one to
01:54go for.
01:55Right, next up, the Motocaddy Cube E2.
01:57Very similar to the PowerCaddy Micro.
01:59Same price, look fairly similar, though I thought the PowerCaddy looked better.
02:02And direct competitors, really.
02:03So for me, the folding system on this is a little bit more refined.
02:07So it just happens quicker.
02:09It sort of feels like it does it itself.
02:11And as for when you're out on the golf course, these sort of dinner plate size wheels,
02:16they're so much larger than the old cube, the original cube, and of most of the ones on test,
02:21this thing just glides across surfaces.
02:23Really stable.
02:24And again, it's a Motocaddy product.
02:26It's well engineered.
02:27It's going to work for you.
02:29If you've got a Motocaddy bag as well, you've got the EasyDoc system on the bottom,
02:32which clicks the bag into place without needing that bottom bungee strap.
02:35And for me, that just refines the whole look.
02:38It's less busy.
02:39You've got sort of bungee straps falling off all of the other ones.
02:42This one's cleaner.
02:43It's calmer.
02:45Very similar to the PowerCaddy Micro.
02:46It's going to be a taste thing if you're between these two.
02:49But if I was differentiated slightly, better folding system, slightly bigger wheels,
02:54glides across the ground a bit easier.
02:55Right, next up, the Big Max Blade IP2.
02:58Now, this is the most expensive push cart on the test that isn't the MGI E-Boost,
03:03which is a bit of a wild card anyway.
03:04But you really get what you pay for with this.
03:07And that's something I want to say for all of these carts.
03:10The cheaper they are, the quicker you see the fall off in quality.
03:14This is the most expensive.
03:15The quality is there.
03:17The complete unique selling point of this is the way it folds.
03:20It is stick thin and is completely different to the rest of the way these fold.
03:25It's flat, completely flat folding, which allows you to put it in other places from a storage point of view.
03:31In the garage, it can go up against the wall and it's not intruding in your way.
03:34In your car, it can go in the footwell behind the driver's seat or behind the passenger seat.
03:40It is completely unique in that sense.
03:43And if you're looking for a different folding mechanism or a different solution, this is the best one for it.
03:48Buy a country mile, in my opinion.
03:50And the way it folds and unfolds is really easy, really intuitive, built-in handle on it.
03:55This is built by a company that understand push cars,
03:58that understand how you and I interact with a push car on the golf course and off it, most importantly,
04:03as well.
04:03Yes, it's expensive, you're 300 quid in for something like this, but it feels like it.
04:07And again, that flat folding system is so unique, so intuitive,
04:10you will forget you've paid 300 quid for it almost immediately because you'll be enjoying it so much.
04:15Okay, next up, the Click Gear 4.5.
04:19Now, what a piece of structural engineering this is.
04:21It is quite mighty when compared to all of the other models.
04:25I've got some great things to say about it.
04:27I've got some terrible things to say about it.
04:29It's a real Marmite push trolley, this for me.
04:31So, let me start negative, shall I, because I'm a bit of a negative bloke.
04:34The way this thing folds is quite stunning.
04:37It really takes some getting used to.
04:40I've got the instructions here, actually.
04:42It's quite a large sheet, but that's probably because it's in a few different languages.
04:44But it's a six-step process according to Click Gear's own instructions.
04:48At one point, you're treading on the wheel.
04:50You've got about three handles to pull.
04:52You feel like a bit of a one-man band at some point, sort of wrestling this thing to the
04:55ground.
04:56It's incredibly frustrating.
04:58Yes, you'll get used to it.
04:59But the last thing I want after a round of golf, I'm a bit tired.
05:02I've just walked 18 holes in my push trolley, is to then have to wrestle this thing back into my
05:06car.
05:06It's quite bizarre.
05:08And as you can see, there's lots of moving parts to it, and it makes it quite confusing.
05:12So, it's by far the least intuitive folding mechanism of the bunch, by a way.
05:17If you get used to it, good for you.
05:19I'm all for it.
05:20Because what you then get, once you've unfolded it, is by far the most feature-packed trolley of the lot.
05:26This thing has got absolutely everything, and I love some of the features they've added into this new model, especially
05:31on the handle.
05:32You've got a magnet for your rangefinder, which I always find on push carts is something I hate having to
05:36come in and out of this for a rangefinder.
05:38I love it's got a magnet there.
05:40Super intuitive.
05:41Same for your glove on this side with Velcro.
05:43It comes with your water bottle holder.
05:45The brolly holder can be stored at all times away, so it's not always sticking out.
05:50I love that.
05:51There's loads of storage, there's a zip on the bag, the straps, the silicone.
05:55It's got everything, man.
05:56It really has got everything.
05:58But you've got that insane folding mechanism, which has taken me...
06:02Listen, I've only had this out of the box for a couple of weeks, but I'm still to get used
06:05to it.
06:06You might get used to it, but that is the trade-off.
06:11Fantastically featured, but goodness me, it's tough to fold up.
06:14Okay, next up, the Wishbone Cube 3.
06:16This is the cheapest I have on test, and listen, I know there are cheaper push trolleys on the market,
06:20but this is just the cheapest I've tested this year.
06:22Let me know what other cheap ones there are.
06:24I'll try and get them into the test next year.
06:26Anyway, £189.99 in the UK.
06:29I wanted to really like this.
06:30I think it's really smart looking.
06:32The folding system's pretty quick.
06:34It doesn't like clicking in place very intuitively, which makes it kind of keep springing up at you.
06:39But I wanted to like this.
06:40I think it's a really good price, but it's just, you can feel where there have been costs cut.
06:45I don't know where they have been, but the wheels sort of bow in every so slightly,
06:49and I don't like how sort of flimsy and clicky they are, and that the parking brake is as well.
06:55And secondly, the killer for me is how, and I could tighten this up with an Allen key perhaps.
07:00Maybe I've left it.
07:02I don't think it would help this bit though.
07:03It's just the give in the handle, sideways, up and down.
07:07It's just got to give to it.
07:08And when you put a heavy bag on there, you can really feel it.
07:11And as you try and twist around a corner or move it quickly, you just, am I trusting that not
07:16to snap?
07:16It just feels a bit flimsy.
07:18And when the bit you're interacting with for four hours on a golf course just feels like it's got a
07:23bit of give to it,
07:24it starts to annoy you over time.
07:26I'd forgive that if this was like 120 quid, 130 quid, but it's 190 pounds,
07:32and I can get a PowerCaddy Micra or a MotorCaddy QB2 for another, quick maths, 40 quid.
07:39I'd invest it in the more well-built product.
07:42So a bit unfortunate on this one.
07:44I wanted to like it.
07:45It is very affordable.
07:45It is very pretty.
07:46The folding mechanism is pretty good.
07:48It's just the flimsiness of it is going to annoy you over time.
07:52Next up is Sun Mountain Ridgeline 3.
07:54Now, Sun Mountain makes some of the best bags in the game,
07:56so they should, hopefully, make some of the best trolleys in the game.
07:59It's pretty dear, this, at 280 quid.
08:02And I'll be honest with you, it just doesn't fill me with joy.
08:05It just looks a bit mechanical in places.
08:07It's got a mountain bike feel to it, ironically, with the name.
08:11A bit clunky.
08:13The folding mechanism has become very stiff over time.
08:15I've been using this quite a lot, as you can see with how worn it is.
08:18And for the price, the look, the feel, it just doesn't add up for me, unfortunately.
08:22However, there is one really important feature to this that is worth noting.
08:26It's the only one on the market where the bag, the top handle here, adjusts in height.
08:32So, if you're, you know, sharing your bag with a junior or a lady golfer,
08:37or you use a tour bag and sometimes a carry bag,
08:40but you're able to have this handle move up and down,
08:42allows you to use any size bag on it comfortably.
08:44The base supports everything as well.
08:46So, a little niche, yes, but a feature worth mentioning nonetheless.
08:50However, as a product, for the price, it hasn't wowed me.
08:54Right, next up, the Easy Glide Bolt 2.
08:56Really like this model.
08:57Under £200.
08:58Makes it a hair cheaper than the QB2 and the Micra.
09:00Looks pretty similar.
09:01Built pretty similar.
09:02I love the folding mechanism on this.
09:03It just kind of, once you get the handle up,
09:05it kind of just shoots itself into life.
09:06And as I found doing all of these today, unfolding them, folding them,
09:10this felt the most intuitive once you got used to it.
09:13Really quick, really simple.
09:15Handle storage is good as well.
09:16Plenty of volume in there.
09:17No bag underneath, though I do like a net underneath.
09:20But a really good secondary option here.
09:22It's a little bit cheaper than some of the front runners,
09:24but plenty intuitive.
09:25Well built.
09:26Well priced.
09:27Liking a lot.
09:28Right, last but certainly not least,
09:30there's a bit of a wild card in this.
09:31This is the MGI E-Boost.
09:33This is both a push car and an electric trolley at the same time.
09:37So, it does push the RRP up.
09:38It pushes the weight up, especially with the batteries on it.
09:40And it doesn't fold as compactly.
09:42So, it's a bit of a different model here.
09:43I can't quite work out why you wouldn't go for this over a normal entry-level electric,
09:49which isn't much more than, let's say, 50 quid more expensive than this.
09:53But it freewheels as a push trolley.
09:54It's pretty lightweight, all said and done.
09:56Nine kilograms.
09:56Eleven with the battery in it.
09:59So, you can use it as a push.
10:00Then, when you need the extra boost up a hill or you get a bit tighter in the round,
10:03you control it like a normal electric trolley with a knob at the top and boom,
10:06the motor kicks in to help.
10:08I really like the concept of it.
10:10It sort of makes sense to me.
10:12Again, why not just go for a push car?
10:14Why not go for electric?
10:14I don't mind the idea of melding the two.
10:17If the price point was a bit cheaper, it might make a bit more sense to me.
10:20But this is a good model.
10:21It's pretty.
10:23The folding is a bit frustrating, actually.
10:25I will say the front wheel tries to take your finger off every time you fold it.
10:29You've got to sort of press it and run away from it.
10:31Otherwise, it will take your hand off.
10:32That's obviously quite a large negative.
10:35And the flap for the storage bit broke off and flew off in the wind.
10:38So, I've lost that.
10:40So, some positives, some negatives.
10:41You can't win it all.
10:42But a really interesting concept.
10:43I'd love to know what you think about this.
10:45The idea of a product that does both.
10:47For me, if the RRP was just a little cheaper, it would make a lot more sense to me.
10:51Because it's so close to an out-and-out electric, I don't understand its existence.
10:56But it's a bit lighter than a normal electric.
10:58It's a bit cheaper than a normal electric.
10:59It folds a bit more compactly than a normal electric.
11:01So, I kind of get it.
11:02But, yes, that's the MGI E-Boost.
11:05Right, time to pick my overall winner.
11:06But first, a few honourable mentions.
11:07If you want the best cube folding push car of the lot, I would go for the Power Caddy.
11:11I think it's the best looking.
11:12And it's the smallest.
11:14And you don't hear that very often.
11:15But smaller, in this case, is very much better.
11:18The Click Gear 4.5.
11:20Hilarious piece of machinery.
11:21I mean, it's just got everything on it.
11:23And once it's unfolded, you've got just the sort of Swiss army knife of push carts.
11:28But that folding mechanism is just wild to me.
11:31If you can get yourself past that, this is a brilliant push cart.
11:34If you can't, you're like me.
11:35You want something that's really, really easy to live with.
11:38A final shout-out, the Bagboy Slim Fold.
11:40I know I didn't have it on test with me here today.
11:42But another folding solution that's a little bit different to the rest.
11:47Really slim.
11:48Not as slim as the Big Max, but slim in a different way, if that makes sense.
11:51So depending on your storage needs, I'd go and look at that.
11:53But my overall winner is the Big Max Blade IP2.
11:57Simply for that flat folding system.
11:58It is so intuitive to use.
12:00And it really gives you loads of solutions to where you want to store it.
12:03In the car, at home, whatever it is.
12:05Yes, it's the most expensive.
12:06But this is really an economy where you get what you pay for.
12:09And I think the extra investment is worth it for something like this.
12:13Now listen, I've had to live with all eight, nine of these push carts to test them properly.
12:17Some of them really got on my nerves.
12:18Some were trying to take my finger off.
12:20Some would have to sort of wrestle.
12:22This one is the easiest to live with on top of that.
12:24It folds easily.
12:25It looks beautiful.
12:26It's incredibly practical.
12:27And for me, that's what makes a good push cart.
12:30But let me know if I've made any howling mistakes here.
12:32Have I missed out any that you think are worth reviewing?
12:34I'll try and get them into my review for next year.
12:36But for now, well done to the Big Max.
12:37Thank you for watching and I'll see you next time.
