Adams Akor Guinea Bissau Game Isn't One We Should Have Lost
Transcript
00:00I think there are many factors that happen in the game but it's not the game we should
00:05lose which we would take responsibility and we have taken responsibility for that.
00:10It's a game we prepared very well for. We know how important it was to us in the qualification phase.
00:18But looking back, we are already making corrections to what happened in the game and
00:25the game of football we were on the bad side on that day as a group. As a team we
00:32know where our
00:32possibilities are and how good we can be when we're on our best days but that wasn't our best days
00:38and
00:40yeah it's something we have to take responsibility for. I think good pitch should be a bare minimum
00:45for African football. This we all know and I'm not making any excuses. I would not make excuses.
00:51We are professionals. We should know that there are a lot of things that comes with the game.
00:56The weather, the referee, whatever the circumstance we should be able to find our way. But a good pitch
01:03should be a bare minimum for how big African football is and that was not the case on that day.
01:08We
01:09already set the standards very high so living up to that standard is what we wake up to do every
01:14day
01:14as the Super Ego and yeah for me that's that's one thing we should do going into the the next
01:21games is
01:23we are aware of the standards and we should live up to that. Yeah the captain was pissed at us
01:29and
01:29I can understand from his point. Many of the boys were not happy completely devastated coming away a long
01:38trip and not taking anything back home in an important qualification game. Like you said there
01:46are still games to go but with qualifications we try our best in this generation to to be not be
01:54in a
01:54place where we need another team to either do good or do bad so we qualify so but we fell
02:01short in against
02:02Bissau and we understand better now and I would make sure we come out good. When we play for our
02:10clubs
02:10if you play on Sunday and it doesn't go well you look to play on Wednesday if there is a
02:15game so you
02:16you can recuperate and bounce back as quick as possible. So for us now it's there are a lot of
02:23new
02:23boys in camp I'm happy for them and congratulations for those who are going to make their debut in advance
02:30but it's still the Super Eagles and we know what we stand for. The coach has made it clear that
02:35we are
02:36here to try our best to win. Russia is a very good team as well and I think they're very
02:40hungry to play
02:41games you know because of their peculiar situation and for us is to give our best. I know Nigerians are
02:50watching they love football a lot and they love the Super Eagles a lot and yeah come out with a
02:55good result
02:56and also a good performance.
