00:00What I'm going to be describing is contained in the complaint that was filed today against defendants Gua Jun Xuen
00:09and Sylvia Zhang.
00:11Again, as I will emphasize, what I'm going to be describing is not evidence.
00:16Evidence will be presented in a court of law to overcome the presumption of innocence that each defendant starts out
00:22with.
00:23But eventually, as we present that evidence, we are absolutely convinced that we will prove these charges beyond a reasonable
00:31doubt.
00:31These charges include a conspiracy charge that has 55 different overt acts as part of it, a conspiracy to commit
00:42child abuse.
00:44Defendant Xuen also faces one felony count of child abuse, one felony count of accessory after the fact, and five
00:52felony counts of dissuading a witness.
00:55Defendant Zhang faces one count, additionally, one count of accessory after the fact, and four counts of dissuading a witness.
01:04As we mentioned, they were taken into custody this morning and will be arraigned later today.
01:09At the arraignment, we will be seeking a $100 million bail that is in recognition of both the flight risk
01:16potential in this case,
01:18as well as the serious nature of these charges and the defendant's means as well.
