00:00California Governor Gavin Newsom is outraged that President Donald Trump supposedly invited
00:05Iran to attack Los Angeles and San Diego, thereby endangering the lives of tens of millions of
00:11residents. But is that what President Trump actually did? Or does Gavin Newsom have a severe
00:17case of Trump derangement syndrome? When I first heard about this speech, a friend of mine who
00:22happens to be a Democrat sent me a link to it and told me my president was crazy. I laughed
00:29and
00:29thought Trump had perhaps made some kind of joke, perhaps in poor taste, and that Democrats had
00:34taken him too seriously and overreacted, as they often do. So I replied with a joke of my own. I
00:40said that if Trump had invited Iran to attack L.A., he was too late because our own politicians had
00:45done so already. But then I watched the clip for myself and I came to a very different conclusion
00:50about what President Trump had actually said. Take a look. It's a small price to pay for keeping the
00:56world safe, keeping our country safe. They can take out a city. Let them take out Los Angeles.
01:03Let them take out San Diego. This is a very small price to pay. And it's going to be over
01:10with very
01:10soon. It's essentially almost over with. And they might keep going a little long. You know,
01:15they always say they have a big threshold for pain. They need it. Let me tell you, they need it.
01:19But it's going to end very soon. And it'll end one way or the other. And your gas and your
01:25gasoline
01:25and all of the things. And clearly, President Trump was not inviting Iran to attack L.A. and San
01:30Diego. He wasn't even joking about Iran attacking those cities. He was warning about the potential
01:35consequences of Iran developing a nuclear weapon. And that's not some imaginary threat. A few months
01:41ago, during the most intense phase of the war with Iran, there were reports that Iran might have
01:47had a ship off the California coast equipped with drones that could attack American cities.
01:51Those reports proved to be unfounded. But the threat is real. Iran's nuclear program is a danger
01:58to the United States, to our European allies and to our allies in the Middle East. And President Trump
02:03is saying that the temporary inconvenience of higher gas prices is nothing compared to the much bigger
02:08cost of losing an American city. That's all he's doing, acting as commander in chief. You can agree or
02:14disagree. But he is certainly not inviting an enemy to attack America. And this is reminiscent of the
02:19kind of fakery that persisted in the Russia collusion hoax, when we were told that Trump
02:23joking about Vladimir Putin finding Hillary Clinton's emails was somehow an invitation to spy
02:27on the United States. This is midterm rhetoric at its worst. And it shows just how far down the
02:33Trump derangement scale that Democrats have fallen.
