00:09We've got a record fleet this week for the big finale.
00:11We've got 16 boats lined up here on the dock, 11 different nations.
00:15We've got Katana joining us, the Great Lakes 52 champions.
00:18They're racing for the first time.
00:20At the top of the table, well, Plutonio Nation have never led into the final event of the season.
00:25They're just 11 points ahead of the sled and a super close battle for the podium just behind with Alcedo,
00:31Paperec and also Trinity not far behind.
00:34But let's go racing. It's going to be a light start. Let's see how we go.
00:39So race number one here in Valencia gets underway after a little bit of a delay, but we start in
00:44probably 10 knots of breeze.
00:45Wind angle 210 degrees off the start line.
00:48We'll actually Trinity start towards the committee boat end of the line, get out to the right early.
00:52Paperec start on that side as well, and that really does make the difference.
00:56And over the start line are Alcedo, Setelar.
00:58I have to go all the way back, and that's very costly in race one.
01:02Also, Katana not quite able to get to the start line on time, but they have to fight through the
01:07fleet this race.
01:08Around the top mark, it's a lead for Trinity Racing.
01:11Then Paperec round in second, Gladiator third, Plutonio Nation up in fourth.
01:15Down the run, it's fairly even, but Trinity Racing and Paperec kind of get away a little bit.
01:20On the second upwind, it's really close between Sled and Platoon Aviation, but Platoon Aviation lose out very slightly.
01:27Coming through the finish, then, it's a first race win here in Valencia for Trinity Racing.
01:32Second, Paperec, third, Gladiator, fourth, no way back, Sled, and fifth, Platoon Aviation in sixth.
01:40Wind access for the second race is about 270 degrees, 1.8 mile beat, and the wind speed probably about
01:4710 knots on the start line.
01:49A really good start from Alcedo, nice time and distance on the pin end of the line.
01:53Paperec are over the line early and have to come back, and a good start also by no way back.
01:57But the early jump is with Alcedo, Settelar, and no way back.
02:01They jump clear of the fleet on the first upwind, and Paperec can make a nice recovery, working to the
02:06left.
02:06Nice open lane, going fast, and that gets them right back into the race.
02:10Around the top mark, first time up, it's Alcedo, Settelar, with a little bit of a lead.
02:14Nice move by Vayu, get them tacking inside Paperec to come round in second.
02:18Paperec get round in third, no way back round in fourth.
02:21A big lead in the end for Alcedo, Settelar, who win the race, second through her Vayu, third are Paperec,
02:27boat of the day, leading the regatta after day one.
02:31So after two races here in Valencia, first place is Paperec on five points, second, Vayu on ten, Sled also
02:38on ten points, fourth are Alcedo, Settelar on eleven, and no way back also on eleven.
