00:00Yes, it's been quite a tough international break for Dominic Cowett-Lewin.
00:05He was handed only a late appearance as England beat Czechia 3-0 at Wembley,
00:12with Harry Kane once again demonstrating why he remains Thomas Tuchel's first choice, number nine.
00:19The Leeds forward was introduced for Kane in the 82nd minute of the match,
00:26leaving him with limited opportunities to make impact during the international window as well.
00:32Cowett-Lewin had previously made a brief appearance against Spain
00:37and was an unused substitute in England's win over Czechia in Prague as well.
00:44Instead, Kane was given the responsibility of leading the line
00:48and produced another decisive display in what was an important chapter of the Englishman's career.
00:56The striker levelled the appearance record held by legendary goalkeeper Peter Shilton.
01:02Here is what Harry Kane had to say after the game.
01:05Yeah, there's so many milestones throughout our career.
01:07And looking back to my England debut and how much of a dream come true that was,
01:12I think this is even beyond my wildest dreams, you know.
01:15Yeah, to be joint now at 125 is just an extreme privilege.
01:20I love coming to every England camp.
01:22I love playing every game and representing the country in the best way possible.
01:26And yeah, tonight was a special night.
01:28So as I said before, the game, the most important thing was the victory and the win.
01:33It's not about me, it's about the team.
01:34But to help the team achieve it with a couple of goals and a good team performance
01:39and then finish the week strong, it's been a perfect night for me.
01:42I don't know if I thought I'd get to this level.
01:44I always had a lot of self-belief.
01:46I was always willing to maybe do more than others and just push myself.
01:50I think everyone, yeah, I guess has a ceiling.
01:54And I combined, you know, my talent that I had with a lot of hard work and self-belief
01:59and a lot of dedication.
02:01And yeah, from the moment, you know, I got my opportunity, I was able to take it.
02:04And from that moment, it was about never letting it go.
02:07I think to reach the highest level on a consistent basis, you always got to be hungry.
02:11You always got to be striving for more.
02:13I think sometimes you players or people can reach the top and think it's time to take the
02:17foot off the gas.
02:18And that's when you see, you know, players maybe fall.
02:21For me, it's the opposite.
02:22You know, when I'm at the top, it's to do even more, find even more improvement.
02:25And that's what I'm doing right now.
02:26You know, I'm coming off the back of my best season ever as a player.
02:29And I've started this season as good as I did last season.
02:32So I'm in a good place.
02:34And for me right now, it's just pushing myself and see how far I can get.
02:38For Calvert-Lewin, though, the challenge is clear.
02:41Opportunities may be limited going forward while Kane continues producing at this level.
02:46But his return to the England squad gives him another chance to prove himself and hopefully
02:53be that backup striker for England at the Euros in two years' time.
