After a devastating coral bleaching event, Jamaican fishers, scientists and sanctuary wardens search for resilient coral to restore their reef. As they replant and rebuild underwater nurseries, their efforts reveal how conservation can strengthen both ecosystems and the coastal community that depends on them for survival.

00:08I'm Ian Dawson, I'm a dive master, I'm a coral gardener, I'm also a fisherman, I work with the
00:21Arroco Besta Bay fish sanctuary. There is a symbiotic relationship between coral and fish
00:28and so if there's no coral there will be no fish. So while we're focusing on what's
00:33happening in Arroco Besta we have to ensure that what we're doing in Arroco Besta it spreads.
00:38What we are doing here will eventually impact the rest of the world in a positive way.
00:47I have a lot of hope for the fish sanctuary because we always have to have hope.
