00:00Biddenden Vineyards has produced a limited edition mead in time for the Bayeux Tapestry,
00:07returning to the UK for the first time in a thousand years.
00:12Mead is made using fermented fruits and honey, which gives it its iconic amber colour and rich taste.
00:20This brand new Kent made mead has been inspired by the art that has captured audience imaginations
00:28for almost a thousand years.
00:31The Bayeux Tapestry is a massive piece of cloth that stretches for almost 70 metres
00:37and tells some of the most famous stories in European history,
00:42such as the Norman Conquest back in 1066.
00:48Biddenden Vineyards is well known for its award-winning wines, ciders and juices,
00:55and this new drink was developed using modern and traditional techniques.
01:01It was more from the museum's point of view that, you know, it was a nice,
01:08like a moment in history for people to take home and enjoy at home
01:11and reminisce about what those times might have been like.
01:14So it was a way of people feeling more in touch with what was happening, you know, a thousand years
01:20ago.
01:21So it's really, really cool to be involved, you know, in it as a project.
01:26The drink will be available to buy exclusively from the British Museum in London during the exhibition
01:33and will be presented with a label inspired by the tapestry.
01:38With the display lasting until July next year,
01:41there's plenty of time to grab a bottle and raise a glass to history.
