00:00Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're looking at the MCU and credit scenes that hint at what's to come when
00:06Doomsday arrives.
00:07Just to be safe, here is your spoiler warning. Now, enter at your own risk.
00:13Do you think you're the only ones? Do you think this is the only world?
00:19Stearns' Warning, Captain America Brave New World.
00:22This one is almost hilariously blatant in hindsight.
00:25Honestly, you can't get more on the nose than this.
00:29You want to know what's funny? I'm not in a mood for your jokes.
00:33The leader practically looks down the barrel of the camera and tells us multiverse trouble is coming.
00:38From his cell, Samuel Stearns warns Sam Wilson that Earth's heroes aren't the only ones out there, and that others
00:44are coming from different worlds.
00:46It's coming. I've seen it in the probabilities. Seen it plain as day.
00:52Subtle, Marvel. Real subtle.
00:54This arrives just as Sam begins rebuilding the Avengers.
00:57With the multiverse raining down on them and Earth's heroes divided into competing Avengers factions,
01:02Stearns may have essentially given us the elevator pitch for Doomsday before anyone else knew what was coming.
01:08We'll see what happens when you have to protect this place from the others.
01:13The Beacon, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.
01:17Shang-Chi's mid-credits scene brings Wong, Bruce Banner, and Carol Danvers together to examine the Ten Rings.
01:22They don't match any artifacts from our codex. What do you think?
01:29Hmm, I'm not sure.
01:32They're not vibranium. Chitauri?
01:37Not like any alien tech I've seen.
01:39They discover that nobody recognizes their technology or knows just how old the mythical weapons are.
01:45What they do conclude is that the rings appear to be sending a beacon.
01:48What is it?
01:50A beacon.
01:52They're sending a message.
01:54At the time, the implication was that it was a signal to the Kang variants,
01:58but the rings might still be pointing toward Dr. Doom.
02:01Shang-Chi's rings were highlighted in the Doomsday trailer,
02:04so whatever they were calling out to could show up in the movie.
02:07Whether their signal has anything to do with Doom, the multiverse, or something else entirely,
02:12five years is an awfully long time to leave that beacon ringing.
02:15From now on, the trajectory of your lives will be like nothing you've ever experienced before.
02:23And there's no going back.
02:25The X-Men. The Marvels.
02:27Although the MCU seems to have washed its hands of this film,
02:30there is still a huge connection between it and Doomsday.
02:34Mom?
02:38Mom?
02:41Mom?
02:42In the post-credits scene, Monica Rambeau wakes up in a parallel universe,
02:46where she comes face-to-face with a version of her mother.
02:49But the real surprise is watching Kelsey Grammer's beast walk into the room.
02:53The X-Men will play a starring role in Doomsday, with Grammer returning.
02:57My theory? You somehow crossed through a tear in space-time.
03:02You are now in a reality parallel to your own.
03:05Monica's predicament could be a bridge between realities as the MCU's various worlds collide.
03:09We already have confirmation of said collision.
03:12More on that later.
03:13So this might just be the beginning for what's about to come.
03:16Monica hasn't been announced for Doomsday yet.
03:18But don't be surprised if she hitches a ride back to Earth-616 with the X-Men.
03:23Who are you?
03:26Oh, shit.
03:28The Incursion.
03:29Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
03:31Here's another scene that's way overdue for a payoff.
03:34When we last saw Doctor Strange,
03:36he went off to places unknown with Clea.
03:38Doctor Strange?
03:44Can I help you?
03:45Her arrival was a result of his meddling,
03:47which she claims has caused an incursion.
03:49Since the whole idea behind Doomsday is about universes colliding,
03:53it's easy to see why this scene plays directly into it.
03:56All realities are under threat for what is the beginning of the Multiverse saga's conclusion.
04:01You caused an incursion.
04:03Then we're gonna fix it.
04:04And with no Doctor Strange 3 in sight,
04:07we have to believe that Strange Clea's mission has to be involved in Doomsday somehow.
04:11If nothing else,
04:12it at least deals with the exact phenomenon threatening to tear universes apart.
04:16Unless you're afraid.
04:23Not in the least.
04:24The Doom Mask.
04:25Avengers Endgame.
04:27The final sound heard during the Endgame credits was of Tony Stark's hammer.
04:35Back in 2019,
04:37it was a small tribute to the moment the MCU began.
04:39After Encore,
04:41it is the prelude to a much darker story.
04:43As depicted in the re-release,
04:45it isn't Tony Stark forging the Iron Man armor.
04:51Instead,
04:52we watched Doctor Doom hard at work,
04:53crafting the mask that he comes to accept as his new face.
04:56The biggest implication this throws our way
04:58is that this version of Victor might be a variant of Tony Stark.
05:02Fans have speculated this possibility
05:04ever since Robert Downey Jr. was unveiled as the new villain.
05:14We'll find out for sure when the film releases.
05:17But for now,
05:18we wouldn't bet against it.
05:20Can't get enough of the MCU?
05:21Scan the QR code on your screen to join WatchMojo's 24-7 livestream.
05:26You've become part of a bigger universe.
05:28You just don't know it yet.
05:30Spidey in space?
05:32Spider-Man Brand New Day.
05:33Spider-Man has been to space before,
05:35but Brand New Day suggests he's heading back there
05:37at a particularly interesting time.
05:40New Spider-Man sighting.
05:42Location unknown.
05:44The post-credits scene returns to Ned's Spider-Man tracker,
05:47which suddenly detects the web-slinger somewhere off-world.
05:50That's all Marvel gives us
05:52before promising that Spider-Man will return.
05:54With Avengers Doomsday next on the MCU calendar,
05:57the timing naturally raises questions
05:59about whether Peter is being pulled into the coming crisis.
06:03Location unknown.
06:04Tom Holland hasn't been officially announced for Doomsday.
06:08But is it Tom Spidey we're looking at?
06:11Considering the endless possibilities of the multiverse,
06:13could this be another version of Spider-Man heading over to Earth-616?
06:17We've already seen multiple Spider-Men show up once before,
06:20so who's to say this isn't a variant approaching?
06:24Location found.
06:26It's fantastic.
06:27Thunderbolts.
06:28If there was any doubt where this was heading,
06:30the Russo brothers themselves directed the Thunderbolts post-credits scene.
06:33If he puts together a team,
06:35and then the team is called the Avengers,
06:39then who are the real Avengers?
06:40The new Avengers and a branch of the original Avengers
06:42have issues on multiple fronts,
06:44leaving Earth's heroes divided at a particularly inconvenient time.
06:48Then, a bigger problem than Avengers with a Z arrives.
06:59The Watchtower detects an extra-dimensional spacecraft entering their universe,
07:03and the Giant Four emblazoned across it leaves little mystery about its passengers.
07:07The Fantastic Four have officially reached Earth-616.
07:11With Marvel's first family displaced from their own reality,
07:14and two Avengers teams already at odds,
07:17Doomsday has plenty to deal with before Dr. Doom even enters the conversation.
07:21All we can say is this sounds fantastic.
07:24Do we have to say that again?
07:27It's a cool ship.
07:29Doom collects Hulk.
07:31Avengers Endgame.
07:32After Jean Grey's manipulations cause him to lose control,
07:35Bruce isolates himself two miles underground,
07:37and works on suppressing his gamma-powered alter ego.
07:40I wanted to talk to you about your inhibitor.
07:43Oh, sure.
07:45Don't worry.
07:46It's got fail-safes.
07:47I'm not going to turn into the big green raging monster machine in the cafeteria.
07:51But if you do see me let this thing off, run.
07:54As we see in Encore, though,
07:56that's still not far enough to hide from Dr. Doom.
07:59For reasons so far unknown,
08:01Victor comes to personally collect Bruce,
08:04who turns into the Hulk before both seem to disappear.
08:07Crucially, Doom doesn't say he's there to force the Hulk into submission.
08:11The antagonist seems to have plans specifically for Bruce,
08:14and needs to collect him for his plans.
08:17The Russos have indicated that Hulk isn't the only character Doom is picking up ahead of Doomsday,
08:22suggesting Victor might be assembling people for reasons we don't yet understand.
08:26Before this day is done,
08:30we shall be faced with an unthinkable decision.
08:33Whatever it is,
08:35we're pretty sure Banner won't be enjoying this particular trip.
08:38Loki's at the door.
08:39Avengers Endgame.
08:41Turns out Endgame's blissful final scene was never an ending to begin with.
08:45Encore picks up exactly after Peggy and Steve get their dance,
08:48as none other than Loki shows up at the door.
08:50But this doesn't seem to be the god of stories that we last saw in the Disney Plus series.
08:54This Loki is still wearing his TVA attire.
08:57Just what Loki has to ask of Steve and Peggy is the tantalizing mystery of it all.
09:02Anthony Russo has even gone so far as to say that this moment is where, quote,
09:06Doomsday is born.
09:07And with Steve looking much different in the Doomsday trailer,
09:11something huge must have happened for him to get such a radical makeover.
09:26If you thought the TVA wasn't relevant anymore after the Kang story was dropped,
09:31then Encore proves otherwise.
09:34The new scene reveals that the entire multiverse is coming apart.
09:38Mobius, Casey, and Obi discover Earth-1005 on a collision course with Earth-1127.
09:44X-Men fans would instantly realize that the former is home to the live-action film series.
09:49This directly addresses the X-Men we've seen on the battlefield in the Doomsday trailers.
09:53But the situation spirals completely out of control when over 3,000 universes begin to collide.
09:59And yes, choosing exactly 3,000 realities for an endgame re-release
10:04feels like a rather ominous callback to Tony Stark.
10:07I love you, 3,000.
10:10Wow.
10:21Maybe Morgan didn't choose her words at random as we thought.
10:24Enter Doom, the Fantastic Four First Steps.
10:28Even if you haven't seen First Steps,
10:30odds are that you've at least checked out its end credit scene.
10:33He pushed his way out and...
10:39After all, we get our first official glimpse of Doctor Doom here.
10:43The film spends its entire runtime establishing that Franklin Richards is special.
10:47And with Victor coming over unannounced for the child,
10:50it's clear that things just got serious.
10:52Whatever Doom's plans for Franklin may be,
10:55we're pretty sure he isn't there just to babysit the kid.
10:57See, we're going for something a little bit more fun today, yeah?
11:01The scene was directed by the Russo brothers,
11:03so it's likely we might catch it in its entirety in Avengers Doomsday.
11:07Trailers have confirmed that the Fantastic Four are acquainted with Victor,
11:11which means there's more to this moment than the villain simply collecting Reed and Sue's child.
