Public Utilities Minister Barry Padarath was quizzed in the Lower House today about the discoloured water in Diego Martin, Port of Spain, central and south Trinidad.
Transcript
00:00Earlier this week, WASA advised that the temporary water discoloration followed the scheduled
00:06maintenance shutdown at the Salkat, which is an annual event. Adjustments to the transmission
00:12system followed by the restoration of normal pressures disturbed sediment with parts of
00:17the network and resulted in temporary discoloration. WASA immediately commenced flushing in the
00:24affected areas and they have advised the public that the water remains safe for domestic use.
00:30Thank you very much.
