00:08First of all, this is our obligation to the international community under the IMO requirement.
00:15We have to achieve net zero by 2050.
00:20So we have a runway of about 24 years.
00:23So net zero means that we have to ensure that the decarbonisation agenda can be met so that decarbonisation can
00:33be achieved by various factors.
00:36First of course is in terms of the energy being used by the ships.
00:41So around the world, shipping companies right now are looking at what are the alternative fuel.
00:47Traditional marine fuel, of course, a lot of carbonisation.
00:51So we need to reduce the emission.
00:55So various options are being considered right now by the international shipping industry.
01:01One of it is methanol, LNG, ammonia.
01:05These are the few options to be considered.
01:10So why is it important for us is that it is a new opportunity for us.
01:15So because if shipping industry moves towards alternative energy,
01:21then we have the opportunity to supply those new energy.
01:27And we want to make our port as a green bunkering hub.
01:31So this is one opportunity and also an obligation at the international level.
01:37Secondly, in terms of decarbonisation, it's not only the ship but at the port operations level.
01:44It is so important to reduce emission.
01:48So emission by ports is something like the prime wovers.
01:50There are hundreds of prime wovers moving around the ports.
01:53The key crane, the machines,
01:55all that typically use diesel in the past to operate.
02:00So right now there is a move towards transition to use alternative.
02:04Say for example, the prime mover, what PTP is doing right now is to transition
02:09from a diesel powered prime mover into a electric prime mover.
02:14So that will reduce emission at the port operations level.
02:18So this is the thing that being done.
02:20And it's important because not only is ESG compliance
02:25to make our ports more responsible.
02:28And with ESG compliance, you will achieve certain standards
02:32because these are the requirement by a lot of international companies too.
02:36So when your ports are achieved certain level of ESG,
02:43that will of course give you better, not only services, but better rankings
02:49in terms of the competitors of the port.
02:53So it's very important as far as maritime sector is concerned.
02:56How does MOT carry your role in this?
02:59MOT is at a policy level.
03:01So in terms of policy, what are the policies that we need to do,
03:05governing the ports?
03:07So that's why in terms of green bunkering, as I mentioned just now,
03:11we are working together with the Australian government
03:13to come up with a regulatory roadmap.
03:16How do we do about the regulation?
03:17Because this is something new.
03:19So in terms of regulations, in terms of SOP,
03:22in terms of the entire operations at the port have to be changed.
03:27Because, say for example, if you do green bunkering,
03:30you need a new protocol of how do you bunker.
03:35Say for example right now, you look at how we conduct the E-prime over.
03:40You need charging station.
03:41So you need charging station, you need to know,
03:44the drivers need to know, the operators need to know,
03:46how to charge it in a safe manner.
03:50So all these need new protocols and new SOPs.
03:55So at the government level, at the MOT level,
03:58our role is to provide the policy as well as the regulation.
04:01So all these will be regulated under the port authorities in future.
04:07Okay?
04:07What is the EPM that will be delivered?
04:11This certainly depends on the operator-operator pelabur.
04:15Okay?
04:16Because all these are the laborers
04:18and the new ones are done by the operator.
04:24The government doesn't have to pay for the operator.
04:26The government doesn't have to pay for E-prime over this.
04:27This is due to the operator-operator pelabur,
04:32such as PTP.
04:33So PTP, so that's true,
04:35agak kehadapan dalam perkara ini.
04:37Tetapi yakin,
04:38kita yakin pihak operator-operator pelabur yang lain
04:41juga perlu mengambil langkah yang sama
04:44kerana mereka juga perlu
04:50comply dengan ESG.
04:52Mereka juga perlu comply untuk decarbonization.
04:56Jadi ini adalah sesuatu yang penting
04:58untuk syarikat-syarikat swasta.
04:59Sebab kalau mereka tak comply dengan ESG,
05:02maka mungkin mereka punya
05:05daya saing mereka akan berkurangan.
05:07Jadi saya yakin operator-operator pelabur yang lain
05:09juga akan mengikut langkah yang sama.
05:12Okay, untuk makluman satu lagi,
05:13makluman yang penting ialah
05:14PTP sekarang ini,
05:16seperti yang saya katakan,
05:17adalah pelabur yang paling sibuk.
05:21Okay?
05:21Satu-satu single operator,
05:23kalau single pelabur,
05:24adalah pelabur yang mengendalikan
05:26kontainer yang paling banyak
05:28di serun negara.
05:29RM14 juta lebih.
05:31Jadi,
05:32pelabuhan Johor sekarang ini,
05:35dia ada dua.
05:36Kita gabungkan PTP dengan Pasir Gudang,
05:39menjadi satu entiti
05:42untuk kita memasuki senarai
05:45Lois List.
05:46Lois List ini ialah senarai
05:48pelabuhan-pelabuhan tersebut di dunia.
05:50Jadi, tahun lalu,
05:52untuk yang baru diumumkan baru-baru ini,
05:55iaitu pada tahun 2025,
05:58pelabuhan Johor,
05:58iaitu PTP dan Pasir Gudang,
06:00telah menjadi pelabuhan yang
06:01kesebelas tersebut di seluruh dunia.
06:04Yang kesepuluh ialah pelabuhan Kelang.
06:06Jadi, ini satu pencapaian
06:08yang agak dibanggakan,
06:12kerana PTP memang merupakan satu
06:14pelabuhan yang berpotensi besar,
06:16sebagai satu transshipment hub,
06:18yang terbesar di negara kita.
06:21Dan, kita berharap lebih banyak
06:23aktiviti ekonomi akan dapat dijana
06:25dan lebih banyak pelaburan dapat
06:27ditarik untuk
06:29ke kawasan bersekitar
06:31dengan pelabuhan tenjung pelepas ini.
06:33Dan, seterusnya,
06:34sudah tentu kita nak
06:36membangunkan sektor Green Bankering.
06:39Itu seperti yang saya katakan,
06:40tenaga baru
06:41yang digunakan oleh
06:43syarikat-syarikat perkapalan
06:45dunia.
06:47Jadi, PTP ini ada potensi
06:49yang cukup besar
06:49untuk menjadi Green Bankering Hub.
