00:11Mohamed Shafiq Ibrahim is accused of driving a Perodua Ativa
00:15under the influence of Shabu,
00:17causing the death of his passenger,
00:1922-year-old private college student Amina Emili Nazim.
00:23He is charged under Section 44, Subsection 1A of the Road Transport Act,
00:29which carries up to 15 years jail
00:31and a fine of 50,000 to 100,000 ringgit upon conviction.
00:36He also faces a second charge of injuring another passenger,
00:41Aishath Sara Nizam, also aged 22,
00:43while under the influence of drugs.
00:46That carries up to 10 years jail
00:48and a fine of 30,000 to 50,000 ringgit.
00:52The third charge is driving without due care and attention,
00:56causing a collision with another car.
00:59The penalty is up to 12 months jail
01:01and a fine of 5,000 to 10,000 ringgit.
01:05The offences allegedly took place near the PJS toll
01:09on the Damansara-Puchong Highway
01:10at about 8.40pm last Sunday.

01:37and a wife who is unemployed.
01:40The court allowed bail of 9,000 ringgit
01:43with one surety
01:44and suspended his driving licence
01:46until the case ends.
