00:01Political analysts are urging PKR to resolve disputes over MYCAST allocations and hold meaningful talks with elected representatives and grassroots
00:09leaders after four MPs left the party this year.
00:14Subang MP Wong Chen and Petaling Jaya MP Lee Chien Chung recently resigned their seats and left PKR in protest
00:21after their access to the MYCAST constituency allocation system was removed.
00:27Both had criticised PKR's direction and were aligned with former Deputy President Rafizi Ramli who left the party in May
00:34and now leads bersama with former PKR Vice President Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad.
00:39University Malaya political analyst Taufik Yaakob said parliamentary allocations should follow clear procedures and serve constituents rather than appear to
00:48punish elected representatives.
00:50He warned that such disputes could weaken PKR's machinery and said constituents should not bear the cost of internal disagreements.
00:59International Islamic University Malaysia analyst Lauzer Wei agreed, saying the restrictions went against PKR's long-standing position on equal allocations.
01:09He urged the party to immediately restore MYCAST access to Ampang MP Rodziah Ismail, who remains with PKR.
01:16Taufik also called for meaningful dialogue involving PKR's central leadership, elected representatives and grassroots leaders, with disciplinary matters handled transparently
01:27and policy disagreements not automatically treated as opposition.
01:32He suggested a peace plan or amnesty for those aligned with Rafizi, while calling for a clear explanation over Rodziah's
01:39restrictions and guarantees that constituency activities continue uninterrupted.
01:44Academy Nusantara analyst Azmi Hassan was more sceptical, blaming dissatisfaction with PKR's leadership and the lack of a succession strategy.
01:54He said other Rafizi-aligned MPs could leave when parliament is dissolved.
