00:00There's a balance there that they have to strike because I feel like the running is what gets his juices
00:05flowing.
00:06And when it feels like he's just a football player and not a quarterback, that's actually what gets him to
00:11function and play at a high level as a quarterback.
00:14And I think there was some truth to that this week in some of his commentary when he was making
00:19these basketball analogies, you know, saying like, oh, at the end of the game, it's like a basketball player wanting
00:24that last shot.
00:25That's my mentality as a quarterback. I want to have the ball and be able to make that play.
00:30And I think he also had a reference to getting through adversity and his mom telling him like, oh, you
00:35can't just take your ball and go home.
00:37He does have that basketball mentality. And I think we're just going to have to get used to that, which
00:41means you don't excuse bad plays and turnovers.
00:44But like a shooting guard in the NBA, there's going to be a couple of plays, like a couple of
00:49shots a night where you're like, why is he taking that shot?
00:51That's ridiculous, you know, but Drake's going to do that as a quarterback.
00:56And I think the Patriots are just going to have to live with that.
00:58And ultimately, you hope he gets in a groove and he he hits more of those shots to continue the
01:03basketball analogy than he misses.
01:05Do you think the coaches are accepting of that?
01:08I think some of the coaches are accepting of that. Explain.
01:11Yeah, I think the offensive, I think McDaniels is, you know, McDaniels is going to coach him hard, right?
01:17But I think he sort of realizes to a degree what he has.
01:20I think that's harder for Vrabel as a defensive oriented coach.
01:24And I think it's harder for him to accept the turnovers and the negative plays.
01:30And again, nobody wants turnovers and negative plays.
01:34But you look at the guy you just beat, Josh Allen, right?
01:37I mean, he made a play at the end of that game throwing that.
01:40He shouldn't have thrown that to Craig Woodson.
01:42What year is it for Josh Allen? What year are we in? Eight? Nine?
01:46He's still doing that. And yet, you know what?
01:48I would take him as my quarterback any day of the week.
