00:00and Harrison's a minus 200 favorite against Amanda Nunes.
00:03The UFC, you know, there's so many cards on a weekly basis,
00:07it gets watered down, but they always try to go all out
00:10when they go to New York City and MSG.
00:15Yeah, two very interesting dogs on that card.
00:18I mean, Amanda Nunes, obviously she's been off for a long time,
00:22but, man, if these two fought back when they were supposed to fight,
00:26I was favoring Nunes.
00:28Because, you know, Kayla's coming off the injury.
00:31Nunes has been off for a long time.
00:33So that matchup is really interesting.
00:35And to me, Nunes has always been the better fighter of those two.
00:39You know, Kayla's very good.
00:41She's a great grappler.
00:42She's strong.
00:44But I really, I just, I would have liked to have seen this matchup
00:48a couple years ago when Amanda was fighting and when Kayla was healthy.
00:52But it's hard for me to look at Kayla as a favorite in that matchup against Nunes.
01:00And the Hokut fight, you know, we've seen Gon.
01:04Like, Jon Jones submitted Gon in basically seconds.
01:09His grappling is not very good.
01:11Francis and Gon, who went to the grappling against him, and, you know, won that matchup.
01:15And Gon is very good.
01:17I mean, he's a very good striker.
01:18He's a better striker than Josh Hokut.
01:21But Hokut, at that price, it's going to be really tough for me.
01:26I'm probably going to be on Hokut in that matchup.
01:29Because if he wants to go to that wrestling, which he has definitely in the back pocket,
01:35Hokut could absolutely just take him down and do really good work on the mat.
01:41There is definitely a path to victory for both underdogs on this card.
01:46And I do agree with you with Nunes.
01:48I mean, you could argue she's the best female fighter ever.
01:52And, yeah, she's 38 right now, but she's never really ever taken any damage in her career, right?
01:59It's not like she's, you know, been beat up and she was worn out.
02:03She walked away on her own terms.
02:05She could be refreshed right now, right?
02:07She's got time to focus just on one opponent, one fight.
02:12And I do think she's better.
02:14You know, Harrison obviously is awesome, but I agree with you.
02:17Nunes is definitely alive.
02:18And Hokut's just a problem for everybody.
02:21I mean, he's powerful, he's fast, he can strike, he can wrestle, he can do it all.
02:25One thing, I don't know if you agree with this, though, I do think Cyril gone right now is better
02:30than he's ever been.
02:32Yes.
02:32You know what I mean?
02:33Like, this is the peak.
02:35Like, he's figured stuff out.
02:37I'm not sure he was 100% confident before, Tom.
02:40I think now he believes, yeah, I could beat any of these guys.
02:43Like, I don't think he was sure before, because he didn't, right?
02:47He was losing and he sort of, you know, he had all the tools in the box, but he never
02:52really put it all together.
02:54I think he sort of figured it out right now.
02:58And, man, he's a big dude.
02:59Like, Hokut's gotten away with it, right?
03:01He gets non...
03:03Like, you know what I mean?
03:03Like, Hokut's fought a lot of dudes that weren't that athletic.
03:06You know what I mean?
03:07Sort of bigger, chubbier, fatter guys.
03:09You know what I'm saying?
03:10Yeah.
03:11Yeah, absolutely.
03:11Yeah, I mean, real.
03:12Like, he's carved them up.
03:13You know what I mean?
03:14The Derek Lewis is in the world and stuff and the blades and all.
03:16He's carved them up, but it's a little different.
03:20Like, Gon, that's what freaks people out, man.
03:23Like, it's almost like basketball.
03:25Like, Gon's like a point guard that's like seven feet or something.
03:28He's like Wembin Yama.
03:29Like, he doesn't really move like a heavyweight.
03:31You know what I mean?
03:33Like, I can't wait for that fight.
03:35One thing I'll say, too.
03:37One thing I'll say, too, guys.
03:39Normally, I don't know if the UFC was ever a massive, you know, fan of Gon before.
03:46You know, he's a French dude, doesn't really talk all that much.
03:49But if you notice, he talks smack now, too, Tom.
03:51So, he sort of started to figure it out a little bit.
03:54He talks smack now.
03:57And I think it'd be like the UFC's worst nightmare, actually, if Hulk had actually won the fight.
04:03Yeah, for sure.
04:05You know what I mean?
04:06They like the attention.
04:08But, like, Dana, like, they wouldn't want to have to deal with it, like, daily.
04:12Like, oh, did you hear what your champion said?
04:15Right?
04:15Like, because it would be over the top.
04:19So, I almost, part of me almost thinks, you know what?
04:23Because you can argue, Tom, they fast-tracked him a little bit.
04:25They did, and they didn't.
04:26He's only been in the company for a year, but whatever.
04:29There's nobody else.
04:30It is what it is.
04:31He's talked his way into it, and he backs it up with his talk.
04:35But, I saw some say, oh, they really like him.
04:37You know, they say, you know, they don't like what he says, but they like him.
04:40Part of me is almost thinking, you know what?
04:41This is a good way to shut him up, actually, too, if you're the UFC.
04:45Yeah, I mean, absolutely.
04:46If they actually think Gon's going to win, they're like, you know what?
04:50We're not going to let this go on for another two years of him talking smack every time.
04:54Throw him in there, he'll lose, and it'll shut him the F up.
04:58Right?
04:59Part of me thought that, Tom.
05:02Yeah, I mean, and that's possible.
05:04I mean, obviously, you know, he goes in there and loses.
05:07But, again, you know, he loses in a title fight, so it's not like the end of the world
05:12against Cyril Gon, who, obviously, he's been around a long time.
05:15He's fought literally everybody in the division.
05:18You know, he's fought Jon Jones.
05:19He's fought Ngannou.
05:20He's fought all the best heavyweights that they've had.
05:24But, you know, sometimes those plans don't go the way you want them to go.
05:30Not to fight him.
05:31Yeah, he can't.
05:32And Josh Hokett, he's a dog, man.
05:36And his wrestling is no joke.
05:40And if he really, if he's smart, which I do think he is smart.
05:43I mean, he does say a lot of stuff that's, you know, off the cuff and absolutely crazy.
05:48But, you know, after that White House card, what more can he possibly say that's going
05:54to be, you know, offensive and crazy?
05:56I mean, he's kind of said it all.
05:59So, you know, the problem sometimes with these guys are they are really, really good.
06:06And to me, Josh Hokett is one of those guys.
06:09He's a great athlete.
06:11He has great wrestling.
06:12So he does have a path here.
06:14And, you know, I don't care how good Gann's gotten to this point.
06:20That wrestling, there's still a gap there between Josh Hokett and Cyril Gann.
06:25So very intriguing catch-up.
06:27The UFC, they're going to build that fight up.
06:30And it's going to be great.
06:31And it's going to be fireworks.
06:33It's absolutely going to be fireworks because not only is Hokett a really good wrestler,
06:37but he's tough as nails.
06:39So, you know, he'll take a beating and he'll keep coming forward.
06:43So, yeah, that's going to be fun.
06:45And that card in general is going to be, it's going to be huge.
06:48I mean, MSG cards, they are always big.
06:51And, you know, that one's not going to disappoint.
06:54So, yeah, that's a good point.
