Renaldo Ramjohn, a Trinidadian, has opted to begin his career in Guyana with a particular interest in criminal law. Ramjohn was on Thursday admitted to the Bar in Guyana. He is from Freeport, Caroni, and recently graduated from the Hugh Wooding Law School. He travelled to Guyana to be admitted to practice law.

00:00I'll be honest, it's been eye-opening. In terms of Guyana and Trinidad, they're very distinct. They're different.
00:10Although we may have similar legislation, might have similar laws, may have similar fast food, for instance, similar types of
00:19vehicles.
00:20There's a lot that's different here. The culture might be similar in some aspects, but I think adjusting to life
00:26here shouldn't be that hard.
00:29Well, you'd think not going to law school, you'd learn a lot of law through studies and academics.
00:35But the reality is when you come out into practice or when you actually go to court or see actual
00:40attorneys in their practice, that's when the actual learning begins.
00:44Because what you learn in books and what you learn in practice, you realize that they're two different things.
