00:00With me is a gentleman who we first noticed as liquid, then he proved his mettle with
00:09one solid performance after the other to now becoming the gold standard in being the new
00:16age villain.
00:17I am not saying the gold standard in villain because that you have got plenty of iconic
00:22heroes who have done that but the gold standard of new age villain because here is an anti-hero
00:27who is not just an anti-hero but he is someone who is funny, who is humorous and is an
00:34anti-hero
00:34that everyone loves and there is a contradiction there as well.
00:39So my pleasure to introduce Devyandu who is joining us here at the India Today Conclave
00:45and firstly congratulations for the film, it has done really well, I saw it, loved it.
00:51And the first thought that crossed my mind when I was watching that film is that season
00:55Manu Mirzapur came I think 8 years before, 8 years ke baad woh movie hoti hai, aapki
01:02dwacha se aapki umar ka pata hi nahi chalta, still look just the same.
01:07How do you manage that?
01:08Oh wow, I didn't see that one coming.
01:10Good afternoon everyone, dwacha se umar ka raz what to do, I think maybe I have to thank
01:16my DNA, you know my genetics for that and I have been a little disciplined in life.
01:22That's about it I guess, yeah, rest is human blood.
01:26Did it surprise you that Mirzapur the film as well as the series, now we have had 3 seasons
01:32of that and a film and if you see the film it kind of takes you back to season 1
01:37as well.
01:39And yet, despite having so much content around Munna bhaiya and Guddu Pandit and all of them
01:44and Kaleen bhaiya, yet the film has been so well received, I mean most people would say
01:49no we've done with this content right and yet there was an appetite, were you a bit nervous
01:55going into it, were those questions in your mind or did you believe in the character and
01:59the story so much that you saw no, there is an appetite for a film too.
02:02So, definitely from day one we knew that we have a huge fandom, right, of the series.
02:10The only doubt in my mind was that whether people are really, are they ready to make this
02:17transition from the OTT to the big screen, that was the only thing.
02:22But I think how well, like you said, people have received the film.
02:25It shows that their, their belief in the story, the characters, has paid off.
02:34You know, how it started is that we wanted this film to be a celebration, a gift for the
02:41audiences because they have, you know, put that kind of faith in us for the good 3 seasons.
02:45But what they have done is given us a return gift, which one can never forget and also,
02:53I mean, it paves the way to absolutely a new kind of a system where a lot of people would
03:00start thinking in terms of making an OTT series into a film.
03:05It's good for the audiences, it's good for the filmmakers and it's good for the business.
03:10So, that I think is one of the major aspects where I personally was very happy that, you
03:19know, it shows how mature our audiences have become in actually realizing the kind of content
03:27they are watching and what kind of content they want to watch, be it a small screen or
03:32a big screen.
03:33That awareness, I think what people have is, is really something like, it's still early
03:41days that we all have to realize that audiences have become so mature.
03:47And so, how would I say this, like they are watching everything with a lot of detailing in
03:55it, you know.
03:55They are not buying anything just because you are selling a particular name to them or try
04:01to sell a brand to them.
04:03No, they are very much aware, like all of us, we were, like I said, we were really anxious,
04:09kaisa hoga, kya hoga, but the moment trailer came and people showed so much love, we realized
04:16ke jo hum karna chaate hain, wo logo tak kahi na kahi paunch rah hai.
04:19And it showed in the numbers, yeah.
04:22Do you also sometime pinch yourself that, so early on in your career, Munna Bhaiya has become
04:28such an iconic character, because for a lot of actors, it takes time to get that one
04:33character that you will be recognized with and for your entire career arc as well.
04:37You got it so early on in your career.
04:39Do you consider yourself lucky that it happened or do you see, no, maybe in time to come, I'll
04:45break that and there will be another character.
04:47No, I tell you very honestly, and I don't want to sound pompous here, and I'm sorry, please
04:52excuse me if I do.
04:54I got really lucky with my first film also, Liquid.
04:57And it's, it's only one of the entertainment journalists, he told me that poori zindagi mein
05:03logoon ko ek nahi mil paata, apke paas already do hain.
05:06Liquid and Munna.
05:07But I tell you, I'm being very candid and honest with you, I've put in all the hard work behind.
05:14Yes, you need a stroke of luck with that.
05:17But I, this wasn't easy man.
05:21Yes, my first film became a hit and everything.
05:24People started appreciating me for my work and everything.
05:27But that time it was very important to break that pattern.
05:30To not keep on doing roles as similar to Liquid or a comedy or a boy next door, you know.
05:38So after that phase of me, so my struggle started after my first film became a success.
05:47You know, and that struggle was all in my mind because I was always very clear that,
05:53you know, I wanted to play different, as different characters as possible.
05:56Because of my training in theatre and a film school and everything.
06:01But yeah, once you give a hit, people tend to offer you similar kind of characters.
06:06And so early in my career, it wasn't easy to say no to a lot of big names, money, projects,
06:13everything.
06:15But somewhere, I guess, there was some Kira in my mind.
06:18And I was like, Jho Hoga Dekha Jaega.
06:20Let me just, if I have belief in myself, in my training, let me stand my ground and say,
06:26Okay, if I've played this character, I'm not going to play it again.
06:29I want to try something else.
06:32And yeah, I had a lull period of around two, two and a half, almost three years in between.
06:37Where I think a lot of people were thinking,
06:41You want to do only art house films and everything.
06:45And I said, listen, I actually don't mind doing art house films.
06:49But my brain didn't start.
06:50I really, this is the time to take chances in my career.
06:56You know, once you get settled and everything, then your audiences have already an image of you in their mind.
07:02Then you can't ask them, Kira, aap mujhe nahi cheez mein kiyo nahi dekh rahe.
07:06Because aapne itna time tak unko eki cheez dikhaya hai.
07:10That they identify you with that image.
07:13So for me, I think somewhere that paid off saying no to all those projects.
07:19And waiting for the right one which came as Mirzapur.
07:22With the OTT and someone who is not your, like a boring straight lead.
07:30You know, has some grey to it.
07:34Yeah.
07:34I'll get to that grey which is very interesting.
07:37And as I said, there are some contradictions there as well.
07:39But I want to talk about Munna Bhaiya.
07:40Now, of course that character has given you a lot of fame and love.
07:44But I want to talk to you about the awkward moments that may have come.
07:49I've been to a couple of events where you've been there.
07:51And I've seen the audience screaming Munna Bhaiya.
07:54And you know, they go crazy.
07:55That's how much they love the character.
07:57But in real life, can you think of an incident must have happened.
08:00Which has put you in an awkward position.
08:01Because people don't see you as the windu.
08:03They see you as Munna Bhaiya.
08:04So they think, Pistol abhi nikal lega.
08:07Do-teen galiya de dega.
08:08You know, things like that.
08:09I mean, honestly it saves me from a lot of trouble.
08:13Yeah.
08:14Because, I mean, the kind of characters you meet at times.
08:18You know, on film shoots or when we go to far off places.
08:22I mean, it's their love only.
08:23They want to express.
08:24But at times it gets a little too much.
08:27And that time I just have to switch on my internal Munna and give them a look.
08:31And then no lay off.
08:33Sure, sure.
08:34Yeah, you know.
08:35And I've narrated this incident before.
08:37But if I may, again.
08:39And so there was a time I was shooting in Lucknow.
08:42And it was CA protest time and everything.
08:48And hum ko bola gaya ke listen, we have to wrap up the shoot.
08:51It's all getting hot and everything.
08:53Please go back to the hotel and everything.
08:54So he was like, okay, fatah fatah jaldi se kia.
08:57Hum ne gaadi mein vete.
08:58And we were about to reach our hotel.
09:00Which must have been like just 200 meters.
09:02And there was a barricade there.
09:04You know.
09:04And they were.
09:05So a car stopped.
09:06And the driver said ke.
09:08Sam nahi hotel hai.
09:08Hum ko yahi pe jana hai.
09:09And he said ke.
09:10No, no, no.
09:10You have to take a U-turn.
09:12And I just rolled down my window.
09:14And I said.
09:15Sir, please.
09:16Can we please.
09:17It's just right there.
09:17He said.
09:18Oh, munna tira patti hai khol do.
09:21And there was no pleasantries.
09:23Exchanged.
09:23Nothing.
09:24Good work.
09:25Nothing.
09:26It's just munna tira patti hai khol do.
09:27And it happened.
09:28And I looked at everyone.
09:29Everyone looked at me.
09:30And it was just.
09:31So it has saved me from a lot of trouble as well.
09:34That's a brilliant anecdote.
09:37The one thing about munna bhaiya.
09:41Is.
09:42The profanities that.
09:43He uses.
09:44Right.
09:44It's in every line.
09:46Are you.
09:47Like that in real life.
09:48You come from Delhi.
09:49Tha ya.
09:50You had to work on that as well.
09:52And.
09:52Once you worked on that.
09:54Has it now.
09:55Seeped into your.
09:56Real life as well.
09:58Uh.
09:59So.
10:00I mean.
10:01It was very important to understand the area.
10:04We were representing.
10:05You know.
10:06It's part of the culture.
10:08How these people talk.
10:09And.
10:10Uh.
10:11Our writer.
10:11Puneet Krishnaji.
10:12Wrote everything.
10:14You know.
10:15Uh.
10:16So it was my.
10:17And Nikhil.
10:18I tell you honestly.
10:19When I play a character.
10:20I don't judge my characters.
10:23I don't try to sanitize.
10:25My characters.
10:26I try to go with the vision of the writer.
10:29How he has written it.
10:31And try and see.
10:32That.
10:33How much.
10:34In my full capacity.
10:35I can justify those character.
10:37Uh.
10:38With Munna.
10:38It was very important.
10:40For me.
10:41So.
10:41There are two parts of it.
10:43A.
10:44Divyendu being an actor.
10:45Trying to understand.
10:47Where Munna is coming from.
10:49To.
10:49Not see him as a villain.
10:50To see him as a human being.
10:52A.
10:53Someone who.
10:53Is.
10:55Uh.
10:56Someone who's.
10:58Who's very lonely.
11:00Who's constantly looking.
11:01Looking.
11:02For.
11:02A lot of validation.
11:04From his father.
11:04Who doesn't have a mother.
11:06Who comes from this.
11:08Mafia family.
11:09Uh.
11:10I mean.
11:10What do you expect.
11:11From a kid like that.
11:12You know.
11:12If.
11:12If on a dinner table.
11:13You have.
11:14Conversations like.
11:15Katte.
11:15And drugs.
11:16And everything.
11:17What do you expect.
11:17A guy to.
11:18You know.
11:19To be.
11:20So.
11:20I had to understand.
11:21That.
11:22That.
11:23I have to play him.
11:24I have to understand.
11:25He's.
11:26Deep down inside.
11:27He's a troubled soul.
11:28You know.
11:29This.
11:29This is the only way.
11:31He thinks that.
11:31If I.
11:32Act.
11:32A certain.
11:33Way.
11:34Macho way.
11:34That.
11:35My father would say.
11:36You're a good son.
11:37Aur.
11:37Tum.
11:38Isko.
11:38Aage leke ja sakte ho.
11:40You know.
11:40Is poore cheezko.
11:42B.
11:43The thing was.
11:44That.
11:44I also.
11:45At the same time.
11:46Cannot.
11:47Over.
11:48Empathize.
11:49With Munna.
11:50While.
11:51Playing.
11:51The part.
11:53Because.
11:54He is dark.
11:56So.
11:56You have to.
11:58Maintain.
11:58That line.
11:59That.
11:59Okay.
11:59He is dark.
12:00But.
12:01He is also humane.
12:02But.
12:02There is darkness.
12:04But.
12:05Did it come naturally to you.
12:06No.
12:07Thankfully not.
12:08Okay.
12:08No.
12:08Because.
12:08No such childhood issues.
12:11No.
12:11I.
12:11You know.
12:12Like.
12:12In terms of.
12:13Speaking a lot of profanity.
12:15All that dialect.
12:16And things like that.
12:16You come from Delhi.
12:17So.
12:17No.
12:17But.
12:17Theater gives you that.
12:18You know.
12:19My training in theater.
12:19It gives you that.
12:21Understanding of the text.
12:23Of the language.
12:24And.
12:24We worked.
12:25On the language.
12:26Kis tarikayse.
12:27Jo lahja hai.
12:28Waha ka.
12:28Kaise bola jayega.
12:29Like.
12:30For instance.
12:31Like.
12:31Because.
12:31There was so.
12:32Many.
12:32Gaalis and everything.
12:34I made sure.
12:35That.
12:36If.
12:36I say.
12:37A particular.
12:38Gaali.
12:39Wo.
12:40Hamishna.
12:40Gaali ki tari nahi lagna chahi hai.
12:42People.
12:42Should also chuckle.
12:44Yes.
12:45And that's what I maintain.
12:46That you know.
12:47That's how you can.
12:48Uska thoda sa jo.
12:50Uncuthness hai na.
12:51Usko thoda kam kar sakta hai.
12:53If you make it a little funny.
12:55So what I tried to do is.
12:58Maintain the character.
12:59But say it in a way where.
13:01Yes it's a gaali.
13:02But you feel.
13:03A little funny also.
13:04How he has used it.
13:07So I did that on my own way.
13:09So it.
13:09Yeah.
13:10So I got the ingredients.
13:11I tried to make my own.
13:12Something out of it.
13:13I want to talk about.
13:14Exactly that.
13:15You know.
13:15How you brought in.
13:17Humor.
13:17Into a.
13:18Sort of a negative dark character.
13:20But before that.
13:21Just to give.
13:22Some of our audience members.
13:23A bit of a context.
13:25I want to do a couple of dialogues with you.
13:28You know.
13:28It gives an idea of who.
13:30Munna bhaiya is.
13:32The first one I'll do is from the film.
13:34In Mirzapur.
13:35There is a scene.
13:36Just to give you a context.
13:38That.
13:38They all have to go to Jaisalmer.
13:40To do a deal.
13:41And.
13:42Munna's best friend.
13:43Is compounder.
13:44And he.
13:45Is trying to convince Munna bhaiya.
13:46Ki.
13:47Jaisalmer chalte hai hai.
13:47You know.
13:48That particular.
13:49So I'll say the line.
13:50For the compounder.
13:51And then the.
13:52The punch line.
13:53You know.
13:53Which.
13:54What that is.
13:55Comes from him.
13:56So.
13:57Compounder.
13:57His friend is saying.
13:58Chalye Munna bhaiya.
14:00Jaisalmer chalte hai na.
14:01Is vahane.
14:01Jaisalmer bhai dekhayenge.
14:05Jaisalmer hum ko nahi dekh hai hai.
14:13Jaisalmer.
14:19But.
14:20That.
14:20That.
14:20That.
14:21That was a brilliant one.
14:22The other one.
14:22As you said.
14:23Liquid is your other character.
14:25The opening scene.
14:26He dominates that.
14:27I think.
14:27The first.
14:28Ten.
14:28Twelve.
14:29Minutes.
14:29Of.
14:29That film.
14:30Is just liquid.
14:31It sets the base.
14:33And so.
14:33They go to a dhaba.
14:34And they are having chai.
14:35And liquid is.
14:37Rather angry.
14:38Which is his character.
14:38In the film.
14:39And he.
14:41Rubishes the tea.
14:42That is.
14:42Offered in the dhaba.
14:43So the dhaba owner says.
14:45I'll do that.
14:46And then.
14:46I want your.
14:47I don't know if you can do the entire monologue.
14:49But the dhaba owner says.
14:50So liquid says.
14:52Chai badi bakwas hai.
14:53So the dhaba owner says.
14:54Liquid bahia.
15:00Now to that comic timing.
15:02Which is what makes.
15:02Munna bhaiya.
15:03Unique.
15:03Do you feel sometime.
15:04The ability of comic timing.
15:07Or the ability for an actor.
15:12Now to that comic timing.
15:14Which is what makes.
15:16Munna bhaiya.
15:17Unique.
15:18Do you feel sometime.
15:20The ability of comic timing.
15:22Or the ability for an actor to portray humor.
15:25Is under appreciated.
15:27You know dark characters are appreciated.
15:29Intense acting is appreciated.
15:31But a lot of actors tell me that.
15:33Actually getting the comic timing is tougher than most things.
15:36Oh definitely.
15:37Comedy is a hard game man.
15:38It is.
15:39I mean with drama.
15:41What you have is.
15:42You have a lot of cinematic tools.
15:45For example.
15:46A slow camera movement.
15:48A dark mood lighting.
15:50A background score to help you with.
15:53Heavy dialogues.
15:55Yeah.
15:55Comedy is.
15:56I mean you're.
15:57It's.
15:57How do I explain it.
15:59I mean it's.
15:59You're standing in a.
16:00Football field.
16:02And you have to perform.
16:03I mean.
16:03There is nothing.
16:04If you land the dialogue.
16:05You land the dialogue.
16:06Otherwise it's gonna go very flat.
16:08It is really really hard.
16:10And.
16:11Although I've been part of some comedy films.
16:13I find it really tiresome.
16:15To work on a comedy.
16:17Because it takes a lot of prep.
16:19To make a comedy.
16:21Yeah.
16:21But I must.
16:22Props up to you.
16:23You're fantastic at that.
16:24Any actor that you've admired.
16:26In terms of comic timing.
16:27And you've always said.
16:28Yeah.
16:28This is where I.
16:29Want to be.
16:29Really.
16:30I always liked.
16:31Faruk Sheikh Sahib.
16:33As a kid.
16:33And you did.
16:34Chashmai Badur.
16:34And I did.
16:35Chashmai Badur.
16:36Yes.
16:37And.
16:37And a big fan of.
16:38Sahih Paranj Peh's films as well.
16:41Faruk Sheikh Sahib.
16:42Was always.
16:43Someone.
16:43Who would.
16:44Be.
16:44Very seamless.
16:46In his character playing.
16:47In his comedy.
16:48Especially.
16:49You know.
16:51Very subtle.
16:52Very subtle.
16:53And that's what I also like.
16:54That comedy should.
16:56Come like a tap on your back.
16:58Not a slap on your.
16:59You know.
17:01So yeah.
17:02That.
17:02Faruk Sheikh Sahib.
17:03I really admire.
17:04There.
17:05Yeah.
17:05Comedies.
17:06Did you.
17:08Ever.
17:08Have this.
17:09In your mind.
17:09A conflict in your mind.
17:10That.
17:11Listen.
17:11I'm playing a dark character.
17:13And.
17:13Maybe.
17:14Speaking to the writer.
17:15Don't bring comedy in.
17:16You know.
17:17This is counter productive.
17:18How will people hate me.
17:20Or.
17:20No.
17:20That's the fun part of it.
17:21And that's what.
17:22I mean.
17:23The.
17:23It gave the wholesome.
17:25Quality to Munna.
17:27That.
17:27You know.
17:27He's not your.
17:29Regular.
17:29Hindi film ka.
17:30Villain.
17:31Like.
17:32Looks at himself.
17:33In the.
17:33Mirror.
17:34And say.
17:34Aash.
17:35To.
17:35I used to find it.
17:40So bizarre.
17:41That a bad guy.
17:42Used to.
17:42Believe.
17:43That he's a bad guy.
17:45Which is never.
17:46Is the case.
17:46Right.
17:47I mean.
17:48We all have.
17:48Our justifications.
17:50To do.
17:50What we do.
17:51You know.
17:52You need to find that.
17:53And.
17:54What.
17:54Puneet Krishnaji.
17:55Did.
17:55With Munna.
17:56Is.
17:57Just.
17:57Gave it.
17:57A very wholesome.
17:58To the character.
17:59That.
18:01I mean.
18:02He.
18:02Is.
18:02That man.
18:03So.
18:03You know.
18:07You know.
18:33It.
18:33It.
18:33It.
18:33It.
18:33Just.
18:34A one way street.
18:35Yeah.
18:36I mean.
18:36For example.
18:37He's a bad guy.
18:38He hates.
18:39Good do pandit.
18:39But I see.
18:40He also.
18:41When he sees his mother.
18:42You know.
18:43He.
18:43He does.
18:44Namaste to her.
18:45Yeah.
18:45Yeah.
18:45And that brings back his memory.
18:47With his mother.
18:48Because he misses her terribly.
18:50In his life.
18:51And when he sees her.
18:52And there are flashes.
18:53From his childhood.
18:54That.
18:55You know.
18:55How his mother got killed.
18:56This thing.
18:57While saving him.
18:58And everything.
18:58It comes.
18:59It all comes back.
19:00So.
19:00I think it's high time.
19:02We.
19:02Write characters like that.
19:04Because.
19:04It has to be like life man.
19:06You know.
19:07It cannot be.
19:07Tum hero.
19:08Tum villain.
19:09Tum funny admi.
19:10It cannot be like that.
19:12We need to have.
19:13Real people.
19:14You can see.
19:15Feel.
19:15Almost touch.
19:16When you see a film.
19:17You know.
19:18The one thing that you said.
19:20That.
19:20A villain doesn't want to be hated.
19:22Or an anti hero.
19:23Doesn't want to be hated.
19:24Himself.
19:24I agree.
19:25But I tell you.
19:26Where the conflict comes.
19:27So.
19:28While I hear.
19:28In the film industry.
19:29Some of the nicest people.
19:31Used to be Prem Chopra.
19:32Used to be Amrish Puri.
19:33Right.
19:34As people.
19:35But the thing is.
19:36They also.
19:37Felt proud of the fact.
19:38That.
19:39On screen.
19:39They were hated.
19:42There was time.
19:43Nobody would keep.
19:44Pran.
19:45As their name.
19:45Or their kid.
19:46Because.
19:46He was such a nice guy.
19:47But he was hated.
19:49And maybe.
19:49As an anti hero.
19:50You feel proud of the fact.
19:51That I did that.
19:52And.
19:53People are hating me.
19:54And that is exactly.
19:55What my job was.
19:56That's the conflict.
19:57I am talking about.
19:57So.
19:57Sometime.
19:58Does it go.
19:58Like.
19:58I am supposed to be.
19:59The bad guy.
20:00I am also doing.
20:01The bad things.
20:02Yet.
20:02People are loving me.
20:03So.
20:03Do you take it.
20:04As a compliment.
20:04Do you say.
20:05No.
20:05I should be hated.
20:07For what I am doing.
20:08And why I am dark.
20:09How does that work.
20:10In your head.
20:13No.
20:13Again.
20:14It brings.
20:14It brings.
20:14Brings me back.
20:15To the.
20:16The whole idea.
20:17Is that.
20:18Now.
20:18There is not.
20:19Only one shade.
20:20Like.
20:20The Prem Chopra sahabs.
20:22And the Pran sahabs.
20:23You would always see.
20:24In a single light.
20:26That they are there.
20:27To make.
20:27The life of the hero.
20:29Terrible.
20:30From point A.
20:31Like.
20:32In case of.
20:33Someone like.
20:33Munna.
20:34He.
20:35I mean.
20:36He is such a shy guy.
20:37When he comes in front of.
20:38Sweetie.
20:39He almost requested.
20:40Mere saath film.
20:41Dekhne chalo.
20:41Wo karo.
20:42How would you say.
20:43That he is a negative guy.
20:46That's the.
20:48Fun of modern day writing.
20:50The evolution of writing.
20:52That yes.
20:53People would hate you.
20:54For some scenes.
20:55But they also.
20:56Empathize with you.
20:57Sympathize with you.
20:58For other scenes.
21:00That they would see.
21:01That vulnerable side of you.
21:02As a character.
21:04At the same time.
21:05That's the fun of me.
21:06Do you.
21:07Have a lot.
21:08To thank.
21:09OTT.
21:09Then in that case.
21:11That is allowed.
21:12Such.
21:12Nuance characters.
21:13To be written.
21:15Yeah.
21:15No.
21:15It has definitely.
21:16Helped to take.
21:17The whole.
21:18Language of cinema.
21:21Much.
21:22Much.
21:22Ahead.
21:23You know.
21:23Otherwise.
21:24There was.
21:24There was a time.
21:26In.
21:26Our film industry.
21:27Where.
21:27You know.
21:27Our films.
21:28Used to.
21:29Sound like.
21:33Doh sabzi.
21:34Ek dal.
21:34Ek achar.
21:35Ek papar.
21:36Rice.
21:36Chapati.
21:37Everything.
21:37That.
21:38You will get.
21:38This.
21:38This.
21:38This.
21:39Then.
21:39This.
21:40This.
21:40This.
21:41Me.
21:41Gaana.
21:41Melega.
21:42Ek ladaki.
21:42Jo.
21:43Dance.
21:43Karegi.
21:44Thankfully.
21:44OTT.
21:45Came and said.
21:45Nothing.
21:46Happening.
21:47We need real.
21:48We need real.
21:49We need real.
21:52Directors.
21:52You know.
21:53And that's why.
21:54People love it.
21:55And that's why.
21:56Not everything on.
21:57OTT also works.
21:59Because.
21:59You can't say that.
22:00You know.
22:00OTT.
22:01You know.
22:10OTT.
22:10Take him.
22:10I think.
22:11Any kind of originality.
22:13Is.
22:14Is.
22:14Really.
22:16Prized.
22:16Today.
22:17On OTT.
22:18Or on the big screen.
22:20Since.
22:22You have mastered.
22:23The art of dialogues.
22:24As I said.
22:25In such a short span.
22:26Of your career.
22:27May you.
22:28Continue to rise.
22:29On that front.
22:29I've got a fun exercise.
22:31For you to do.
22:31Because we're.
22:32Completely running out of time.
22:34Where.
22:34I'm going to give you.
22:35Five.
22:36Iconic dialogues.
22:37From Hindi cinema.
22:39But.
22:40I want you to do it.
22:41Munna Bhaiya's side.
22:43Right.
22:43How would he do.
22:44Maybe.
22:45A.
22:46Amitabh Bachchan.
22:47Or.
22:48Sunny Diol.
22:49I have a few dialogues.
22:50Let.
22:50Are you.
22:50Are you up for it?
22:51No.
22:54But.
22:54I'll give it a try.
22:56You'll do a great job.
22:57Okay.
22:57So.
22:57Munna Bhaiya is going to do these.
22:59Five dialogues.
23:00Uh.
23:01The first one.
23:02Is.
23:04One of the most iconic.
23:05Easy one.
23:06Don.
23:08How would Munna Bhaiya do it?
23:10Oh wow.
23:21Sorry.
23:22This will take a while.
23:23Yeah.
23:25Yeah.
23:55because you do humor so well
24:00so no bit
24:06can I change it a bit
24:09can we go a little off script
24:10yeah yeah stage is yours
24:12so no bit
24:14now I'm our crime master go go
24:16and I'll tell you
24:22see that is
24:23that is improvisation
24:25very well done
24:26listen we get a lot of credit
24:28as actors
24:29but I think the real talent is
24:32when a writer writes it
24:33on that paper
24:34you know so let's all always remember
24:37that we are just executors
24:39there is always a writer
24:41sitting in the room
24:42and writing all of this
24:43yeah
24:44completely agree
24:46okay
24:48I have money, bank, bank, bank, bank, bank balance
24:58this actually goes very well with Munna
25:00because he always
25:02misses his mother terribly
25:05okay let's try this
25:27I think it is the one of the best
25:37improvised version of the dialogue
25:38I have seen
25:39most people would have done it plain Jane
25:40but kudos to you
25:42for having done it the way you did
25:44fantastic
25:45okay
25:46two more to go
25:46this one is a short one
25:48but very iconic
25:50Mogambo Khushua
25:51wow
25:52how can I say
25:54touch this
25:57with a bit of
25:58Purwanchli accent
25:59I guess
26:11Mogambo Khushua
26:12we
26:12jalwa yama raya
26:16okay
26:16and finally
26:19tarik pe tarik
26:21tarik pe tarik
26:22milti rahi hai
26:22legin insaf nahi milai
26:27ek baat batao beh

26:35on that note ladies and gentlemen
26:36I was already a massive fan of his
26:38but now having seen him perform
26:40and internalize that process
26:42live
26:43I think you guys are also lucky
26:44to have seen that
