00:08Oh, yes. Football Friday. That means it's time for Shine's Lions. Listen, I'm thrilled with this
00:17record. All things considered, based upon how wild it's been this year, picking every single
00:21NFL game, 35-29-1. We lost, of course, last night. We've been talking about it all show long.
00:29Ah. Nice job, Dallas. Week five. The lines are set. Ready to make some money. Joining us today,
00:38one of the sharpest minds in all of football, a fantasy sports guru, a man who knows his way
00:44around the numbers, the critically acclaimed host of the Jeff Ratcliffe Show on Sirius XM Fantasy
00:51Sports Radio, host of the Ram Podcast, co-CEO of For the Numbers, my guy, the great Jeff.
00:59Jeff Ratcliffe. Jeff, how are you? I am fantastic. I also felt that beat in Survivor last night. I
01:04mean, hey, eight and a half points spread. It's a lock, right? You got a backup quarterback. What
01:08else could go wrong? And honestly, he played really well. Shout out to Jalen Daniels for
01:12that game. Shout out to Bucky Irving for that game. And my Survivor dreams are over in the
01:17big contest. You know, I always avoid Thursday night football for Survivor. Always. I didn't
01:24like the slate this week on Sundays. Not making any excuse. I slept like a baby. I don't even
01:28regret the pick. I just lost. I feel like a horse's ass. But yeah, we're on the same page. I
01:34mean,
01:35how could you possibly lose that game? Unless, of course, you're the Dallas Cowboys. So Jeff,
01:40let's start with one of the Cowboys rivals, the Philadelphia Eagles. Could be an international
01:44incident this week. Eagles, Jaguars in London. Jacksonville favored by seven and a half. Take your
01:50pick. I'm actually going to have the Eagles. I don't know if they necessarily win, but seven
01:55and a half is a big spread here. I know a lot of people are looking to Philadelphia. Obviously,
01:58the injury, Saquon Smith, Goddard still banged up. Not sure of his status just yet. Nobody to throw
02:04the football to the offensive line now with Lane Johnson retiring and Juergens being traded. But hey,
02:11last night showed us. And by the way, the Eagles shorthanded also pushing the Rams. Obviously,
02:16they gave that that win to the Rams at the end there. But I think the Eagles have enough to
02:20stay
02:20in this game. They're still solid in coverage. They've only allowed four passing touchdowns on
02:24the season. And that's really where Jacksonville is going to try and beat you with Trevor Lawrence's
02:28arm. I love Basial Tootin. I love that he's coming along in the run game, but I don't think they
02:33have
02:34the firepower here to really cover this seven and a half point spread. What I hate about this is you're
02:40using your brain and there's a lot of intelligence and everything you just said, I think makes sense.
02:45I love Jacksonville. And I beat up the Eagles all week, right? And the changes on the offensive
02:51line, that's a real thing. And Jalen Hurts looks broken and the injury report is damning.
02:56Jeff, to me, this is about the Jacks. I just think Jacksonville is a really good team.
03:02I love the coach. I love Trevor Lawrence. I think they can run the ball effectively. I like
03:07the weapons on offense. Even if Parker Washington has kind of come back down to earth a little
03:12bit. The defense is really good. The pass rush is great. I think they can attack the
03:18newbies on the offensive line. So listen, I'm going to take Jacksonville. We've beat up the
03:23Eagles all week. They're a beaten football team right now. I just think people in general
03:29sleeping on the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Bears had to Lambeau to renew their rivalry with the
03:34Green Bay Packers. One and a half point road favorites. Take your pick. It's been 20 years
03:40since they've been favored in Lambeau, which is quite something right there. But this team is the
03:44real deal. Even with Tyson Bajan under center, heck, even Case Keenum under center against those
03:48Philadelphia Eagles a couple of weeks ago. Bajan gives them mobility, though, which of course is
03:53what they get with Caleb Williams. I am taking a Bears map minus one and a half. No Kyle
03:58Monunga that was announced today. It doesn't matter. They're just going to feed DeAndre Swift
04:02a ton of work. And it really comes down to the run game on both sides for the Packers.
04:06They can't defend the run and they can't run the football without Josh Jacobs. So I just don't see
04:12how they're going to stay in this against Ben Johnson. Listen, I agree with you completely. In fact,
04:17this is one of my best bets of the week. Not to mention the fact that Ben Johnson and Matt
04:22LaFleur
04:22hate each other. And that matters in a game like this and the history and the rivalry. It's been
04:29frankly one-sided with Green Bay being the team that's just owned Chicago. I mean, ask Aaron Rodgers
04:35about that. He'll be the first one to tell you. And I think that go back to Tucker Craft a
04:39few weeks
04:40ago when he said, look, why are they booing us? I think Ben Johnson wants to hear those boos.
04:47I think this is going to be a bloodbath. I love the Chicago Bears. Ravens take on the Falcons.
04:52Atlanta, Sunday Night Football. Atlanta favored by three and a half. Take your pick.
04:57Well, obviously that line is impacted pretty heavily by Lamar Jackson. It's not a knock on
05:01Snoop Huntley. I think he's a solid backup and a good backup is a good thing to have.
05:05But this Falcons team just completely turned a corner when you put Michael Penix under center.
05:09I mean, and to be fair, over the first two weeks of the season, I'm not knocking Cooper Rush.
05:13He was the number three quarterback on that team. Michael Penix gets in, starts targeting
05:16that dude, Drake London. Bijan does his thing. And heck, you got, is this the best backup in football
05:22right now? And Brian Robinson, they're going to hit him across the board here. I think Baltimore
05:26stays in it, but Derek Henry is going to have his hands full with that run defense. And I don't
05:31think there's enough there. I think the Falcons cover this spread, win this game by a good bit.
05:36I love Atlanta. I would pick Atlanta, even if Lamar Jackson was healthy. I love the Falcons.
05:42Before the season, I picked them against Green Bay to win. People thought I was crazy.
05:46Picked them against New Orleans. People thought I was crazy. I just think Penix is really good.
05:52And if you, if he's smart, if he's accurate, if he could throw the deep ball and he does
05:56all that, reestablishes Drake London, Bijan's going to be the best weapon in the NFL. So I
06:02think that you're going to see the Atlanta Falcons smoke the Baltimore Ravens. And honestly,
06:08you look at their defense. Jeff Ulbrich has that defense flying around.
06:11I love the Atlanta Falcons coming up on Sunday night. Deshaun Watson's Browns going to visit
06:18the Jets at MetLife Stadium. Two and a half point road dogs. Take your pick.
06:23Well, you call him Deshaun Watson's Browns. I call them Todd Monken's Browns. This team has
06:27really taken on Monken's personality and what an infectious personality it is. I love the way that
06:33they're playing right now. Watson's up and down, right? But the ups are there. Finally, he's on the
06:38move. He's throwing on the move and he has not only the two best rookie receivers we've seen for
06:43the Browns in a while. These are the two best receivers we've seen in the Browns for the while
06:46with the Browns for a while. Denzel Boston, Casey Concepcion, of course, Harold Fannin Jr.
06:52just picking right up where he left off last year. And how about Quinch on Judkins last week?
06:56Finally running with authority. This team is playing good football. Not only do they cover the two and a
07:01half, they win this thing outright. And that's not a knock on the Jets. I think the Jets are solid
07:06enough with Geno Smith out there. They do need Brees Hall back right now. But this Browns team,
07:12they're a team on a mission. I think they win this game outright and, of course, cover.
07:15We're sharing a brain here. I've got Cleveland winning the game. I just think Cleveland's better
07:19at this stage. I think that Todd Monken made your coaching advantage in this game over Aaron Glenn.
07:25I agree with you completely on the wide receivers. I think Fannin has a big game. This defense,
07:31even without Miles Garrett, has really been solid. The Jets are banged up.
07:36I love the Cleveland Browns. What a comment. The Colts going to travel to Pittsburgh to match
07:41up with the Steelers. Pittsburgh favored by two and a half. Take your pick.
07:45Yeah, this one's tricky after that loss last week. They did come back in that game. The
07:48Browns almost let him back and win that thing, but ultimately were able to hold them off.
07:52I do think the Steelers are going to cover this two and a half. And I'm looking in particular,
07:57old man Rogers is out there. And honestly, last year, I was not convinced that he had another
08:02year in him. This year so far, I actually am convinced. Now, he's not Rogers from 10 years
08:06ago, but he doesn't have to be. As long as he's getting the ball to DK Metcalf, obviously no Michael
08:10Pittman, but Roman Wilson emerging for this offense. And how about this? Jalen Warren, like,
08:16hey, Mike McCarthy, you're watching right now? Just give this guy the football. He's very good.
08:21And I have concerns on the other side. It looks like Keenan Allen's turning towards getting back,
08:25but the passing game, just without Alec Pierce, they don't have that dynamic downfield element.
08:30So they're really one-dimensional relying on Jonathan Taylor. He's great, but I don't think
08:35there's enough there. I think the Steelers win this one and obviously cover.
08:38I think Pittsburgh is one of the best bets of the week. I don't think they're as bad as what
08:42we saw
08:42going up against Cleveland, what transpired. That to me was more about Cleveland than it was
08:46Pittsburgh. You know, it's always interesting in these, you know, overreaction week-to-week games and
08:52taking the temperature. I'm with you on Warren. I'm with you on Rodgers. This is a T.J. Watt kind
08:58of game. I love the Pittsburgh Steelers. Jeff, I want you to take a look at the rest of my
09:03picks,
09:04and I want you to react to them and tell me what stands out. I love that D'Amico Ryans
09:09is back
09:09calling the plays for the Houston Texans on defense. And normally, a game like this, I'd go with the
09:16underdog, especially at home in a rivalry game. They hate each other, but I don't know. I love the
09:22Giants to win outright. I love the Raiders to win outright. I'm taking the New Orleans Saints
09:30to win outright against the Minnesota Vikings. I'll lay the five and a half with Detroit. We
09:37talked about it earlier in the show. I have San Francisco beating Seattle. Give us a reaction
09:42to some of these picks. Well, I love that San Francisco call out. That's a litmus test game
09:48if I've ever seen one. They have been absolutely fantastic, though. How is this possible? He hasn't
09:52been sacked this season. That boggles my mind. Brock Purdy is insanely good right now and underrated,
09:59shockingly enough. I love that call. I actually have that on my ticket as well. The Raiders,
10:04I did pick the Patriots to win, but boy was I tempted, Shine. It was so close. The team is
10:10legit. It wasn't a couple wins. They pushed the Chiefs. This is a legitimate team. Kirk Cousins is
10:15playing like a younger version of himself with Bowers out there. It's been really, really fun
10:20to watch. And obviously, defensively, they're pretty strong. If they get Drake May a little
10:24rattled, I think that'll be interesting. And I love the Giants call out right there.
10:29We haven't got the Jameis game yet. And you know it's coming. You know there's going to be like a
10:34350 and three through the air. And Jameis is on all the highlights. We haven't got it yet. If it's
10:39a
10:40game where it could happen, it could be against that Commander's defense. Without question. Now,
10:43before we let you go, listen, when it comes to fantasy football, you are the absolute best.
10:49We listen to your radio show. It's on the Sirius XM app. We read everything that you put out. Listen
10:54to your podcast. I'm kicking ass and taking names in DFS because of you. What plays do we like this
11:03week? Anyone do you want to name in terms of DFS for this upcoming week? You know, I haven't even
11:08really fully dove into the DFS, putting me on the spot here. Normally, I do have it set up for
11:13my
11:13show. Of course, on Sunday mornings, I'm on live on Sirius XM fantasy sports radio from 9 to 10 AM
11:18Eastern. But I'm going to follow a lot of what I said. I know I am playing Jameis regardless of
11:25his
11:25price tag. Wow. Again, it's a ceiling thing. So I'm entering bigger tournaments. I'm going to put a
11:30guy in there who does have a ceiling who I think could be under owned. Of course, if I am
11:34playing
11:34him, I'm going to roster up either neighbors or likely or both because basically all of his targets
11:39went to both of those guys last week. Regardless of the price point, I do want to lean in on
11:45some
11:45situations like DeAndre Swift. Honestly, Sean, like that's a 45 and a half over under. I am
11:50hammering the over in that game. So I want to I want to get a lot of DeAndre Swift with
11:54no Kyle
11:55Manonga. That's going to be a bit of a chalky play, but that's OK. There's nothing wrong with
11:58having good chalk out there. So I'll be going after that one as well. And then I probably will get
12:04in on
12:04the other side of that. I think Christian Watson is due for a little bit of a bounce back
12:08after last week. He was used, just not didn't find the end zone. He's an alpha in that offense,
12:13him and Matthew Golden. And by the way, Matthew Golden had a routine touchdown and he spins around
12:18in the air. He looks like quad God on that thing, spinning, hovering in the air, catching this
12:23football, a thing of beauty on a routine touchdown reception. But really like what Matthew Golden
12:28has done so far this season. We'll be listening on Sunday morning, 9 to 10 Eastern on Sirius XM
12:33Fantasy Sports Radio as we do each and every Sunday morning. Jeff, you're the best. We
12:38appreciate it. Thank you.
