00:00I really liked your example with the help versus assistance, lending a hand, because
00:09help, avoiding this term, you are putting the person that you're having a conversation
00:17with in a better position.
00:19You are allowing them better agency over this situation.
00:25If you need help, it means low agency.
00:35I need someone who is stronger with more experience to come and fix my problem.
00:42But lending a hand, meaning we are in an equal partnership position, I lend you a hand and
00:51you go with me, hand in hand.
00:54And yeah, I like the visual, it transfers as well.
00:58Before even going with me, you have to decide to take my hand.
01:02There is that physics that then connects and then we go together.
01:09Once again, business is very interesting.
01:11The market speaks and people are slick and they have certain ways that they can make their
01:18case and deliver their message and it does get certain results.
01:23But I believe in purity.
01:25I think that if somebody has to make a very long march, they should do it in comfortable
01:30shoes and they should also be able to go home and tell their family what they do for a living.
01:35Alex, if you're that talented, there's a hundred ways to make a dollar.
01:39You don't need to choose certain ways that might be compromised or your ethics, values
01:44or morals, or you're just caught up in the moment.
01:47Think of the long play.
01:48Think of how you will feel about yourself when you earn that money and you have that reputation.
01:54And so for me at this stage, I kind of see it more as paying it forward.
02:00I always knew that I would do well.
02:03I felt comfortable in my own skills, but there is a certain stage in life where the gold and
02:08jewels, it loses its luster and people are looking for something else.
02:12And so if I'm able to give these advanced telemarketing classes to reinforce their English,
02:18to make it fun and to be a boss that knows their name and lets them know that people believe
02:22in them for confidence and self-reliance, then I'm that old guy with the white beard by the
02:29fireside that literally is, as I imagined as a child.
02:34And now that I'm in that stage, literally paying forward information, not cash, not food.
02:42I'm paying along that life experience that took me 51 years to get.
02:47And it's nice because it's not only received well, but it seems to be appropriate in this
02:54environment.
02:55I actually found an area, the soil, where my specific skill set can grow.
03:01If not, I just would have been running in circles in some cubicle in Tempe, Arizona,
03:06wondering where my life is.
03:08And so, my friend, I have a luxury trade.
03:12And that's why you see me smiling on your podcast today.
