00:00Tour underway on Matchday 8, but it looks like it's a full start.
00:14Meritimo getting the game started then.
00:16Week 8 of the Liga Portugal resuming this weekend
00:21after a long break for internationals.
00:25Porto still top of the table, that's despite Sporting's 3-1 win at Braga last night.
00:34Porto three points ahead of Sporting, five ahead of Benfica.
00:41Meritimo home side in red and green today, 11th in the standings.
00:45They are four points above the relegation zone.
00:49They look to pick up as many points as possible early in the season.
00:54To make sure that they stay in the top division.
00:59Having earned promotion as second division champions.
01:02Seven points clear of Academico Antolens.
01:11Goalkeeper Francisco Vaites.
01:17Caught late there, play raging on, but the whistle had sounded.
01:20Frustration for the home fans and relief for the home goalkeeper.
01:28He took his time.
01:37Ryan sends it in.
01:39Keeper went for it, but was beaten to the ball by his own man.
01:43Number 22, Gabor Schalai.
01:46He's on loan from Ferran Svaros for this season.
01:50There he is.
01:56Roberto Costa.
01:59The long throw for the visitors, flicked on by Bednarek.
02:05Hang it back in.
02:07Andre Silva looked offside there.
02:10Indeed, the flag was up.
02:16The chase is on here.
02:17The ball bouncing slowly and awkwardly for Kivio.
02:26Really good pressure in the end from Dominguez.
02:37Often that Kivio looks that cumbersome in a Porto shirt.
02:49Long throw by Bednarek.
02:53Shot comes in from Schalai.
02:56On target.
03:03September 5th, Benfica.
03:05We're in town.
03:08Andrew Barrero scoring early.
03:09I mean, it's a relatively comfortable win for the Eagles.
03:15Barrero scoring on 71.
03:17Luca Pestiani on 82.
03:19But Maritimo certainly had their moments as well.
03:26In his preview of this game,
03:28he felt that Maritimo could improve on that showing against Benfica.
03:36That's Mitchell van der Gag.
03:37The coach, Dominguez with the ball in.
03:40Which is...
03:42Well shaped, but...
03:44Out of play.
03:51Budska losing his footing.
03:53The pitch was talked about in the pre-game press conferences as well.
04:02The best of playing surfaces at the moment.
04:04You can see...
04:05Little patches where it will...
04:09Catch on the players' studs.
04:12Schalai from distance again!
04:13Oh!
04:14That is a wonder goal!
04:19Jogo Costa beaten from way out.
04:28Gabo Sala.
04:29The Hungarian.
04:31With his first goal in Portuguese football.
04:39What a strike it was!
04:45And the centre-back.
04:49Keen to have a go from any distance.
04:51This will surely have to go down as a misjudgment from the Porto goalkeeper, Diogo Costa.
04:58Let it slip by him.
05:01And take nothing away from the finish.
05:05It was fizzing along off the surface.
05:08Very well directed, right in the corner.
05:11Yes, Costa should have done better.
05:14And what a start for the home team.
05:16Maritimo one.
05:18Porto nil.
05:28Porto very strong from set pieces.
05:31Lots of height in there.
05:32Good goalkeeping from Vaitis.
05:46Martins!
06:00Forster clips one in.
06:01No one reading the flight of the ball early enough there.
06:08Henrique in the crowd appreciating that little turn.
06:24Tavaas, former Benfica player, Juliao. Tavaas making a good run here.
06:30Support provided on the right by Butzka.
06:34The cross is good.
06:38Porter looks very uncomfortable there.
06:46All tenner away. Juliao stepping in.
06:53Francisco Moura to Pepe.
06:57Back to Kibior.
07:09Quang.
07:12That's good. From Alani.
07:16Dominguez.
07:19Didn't have many options there.
07:24Kibior.
07:24Kibior.
07:28Moura.
07:30And Pepe.
07:32It's inviting.
07:34It's well defended.
07:37Torso has to start again.
07:38Kibior spotting a run from Costa.
07:41Got a little bit of a nudge in the back.
07:43But it was...
08:01Costa.
08:05There's Costa.
08:07Towards the back post.
08:08And the header.
08:09Kept down.
08:10But Floholt.
08:11Has got Porto level.
08:20There has not been a very impressive display from the visiting side.
08:28But it's the old saying again.
08:31That's why they're champions.
08:36Throw-hold season.
08:37He has two this term.
08:41He's not been at his best.
08:44But he was in the best position possible here.
08:49Francisco Moura with the header.
08:51From Costa's cross.
08:54Who has kept it.
08:58In-swinger.
09:00Headed away at the near post.
09:01Gomez blocked off.
09:03Play continues.
09:05As Julien.
09:06Has a wild attempt from distance.
09:09Gomez.
09:10Will need help.
09:11Getting back on his feet.
09:13To Salai's goal.
09:15Up to 16 minutes.
09:18In Funchal.
09:19On the island of Madeira.
09:20The champions level.
09:22On 42.
09:23That man.
09:23Victor Froholt.
09:25Getting his second of the season.
09:26On the rebound.
09:28Porto.
09:29Far from their best.
09:32In a decent position going in at half-time.
09:35Dominguez.
09:37And Froholt.
09:40Heavily involved.
09:42Dominguez.
09:44Getting an assist.
09:47Froholt to goal.
09:49And at the break.
09:51It is.
09:51Maritimo won.
09:52FC Porto won.
09:54And.
10:02So Porto.
10:03Get things back underway.
10:05Diogo Costa.
10:06There's Skipper.
10:07Sending one along.
10:09At the start of this second period.
10:12The first half.
10:13Statistics were interesting.
10:15Six shots for Porto.
10:16Four for Maritimo.
10:18Here's Froholt.
10:19You got the equaliser.
10:26Gomes with 56% possession in the opening half, looking for a much better start here than starting after the
10:35break with a lot more urgency already.
10:38On their fourth corner of the night thanks to Alberto Costa, former Juventus full-back.
11:01Wang, the Korean, send this one in. Draws out the keeper, it's good work.
11:10Only as far as Pepe on the edge of the area, that one taking a deflection.
11:15The role before this one was with Zurich in Switzerland.
11:37Porto has scored two or more in every game in the Liga Portugal this season.
11:51To get a second here is Silva.
11:54It's really good footwork, but Tamás did well, so too Correa.
11:59The goal kick is the result.
12:03Portugal in his time, left Porto in 2017 for AC Milan.
12:0838 million euros.
12:14Porto has a man down in the area, and the referee is going to go in to check.
12:21It's William Gomez.
12:24The Meritimo keeper, Francisco Leites.
12:30Keeps sure he's okay.
12:40Eight league goals for him last season.
12:44It's his stunner against Sporting in August.
12:49It's named the goal of the season in the Portuguese league.
12:53The signs all too clear there.
12:55He turned his ankle and indicated straight away that he had to come off.
13:07Well, he said Porto is a new home, a great new family.
13:15Signing a new contract earlier in the week.
13:17One of the happiest memories of his life so far.
13:23This is a bad one.
13:26And hopefully, it's not a serious injury.
13:31Gomez involved in ten attacks more than anyone else.
13:37In the Porto starting 11 today.
13:46He's being forced off.
13:48Porto are making two changes.
13:58Camry Vega.
14:00Borja Sainz.
14:06Spaniards about to come on.
14:10Just a really unfortunate incident.
14:28And Vega.
14:33His second year at the club.
14:36He's been influential.
14:38Wang going off.
14:43Took a knock against Benfica.
14:46Did Gabry Vega return to full fitness.
14:53Out of this game.
14:56Looks like William Gomez.
14:5820 year old from Brazil.
15:00He will be set for a spell on the sidelines now.
15:25It's never good to see, especially.
15:47The most recent arrivals onto the pitch for Porto.
15:52Gabry Vega the number 10.
15:54Borja Sainz the number 17.
15:56It's an excellent form.
16:00Four goals and three assists for Vega already.
16:02He scored the opener in Porto's last match against Benfica.
16:07And Sainz has scored three times off the bench this season.
16:11That's his cross.
16:13And the header.
16:15Just up.
16:23And for the goal.
16:24And Gabor Schallaj.
16:25And now Enrique.
16:26And back again.
16:26Gabor Schallaj.
16:27The home goal scorer.
16:30Had to hurry his clearance there.
16:35Unknown from Ferran Tuanos for the season.
16:39Oh, there's a lovely ball.
16:43Toti.
16:44Toti.
16:44Toti.
16:45Toti.
16:45Toti.
16:45Toti.
16:45Toti.
16:45Toti.
16:45Back to Moura, good cross, great save!
16:54We're going to have some reinforcements shortly.
17:07Chipped in by Bednarek, Correa's header down.
17:17Well, that's a good layoff, good save again!
17:23The offside flag is up this time.
17:26He's a hulking figure, Samu, isn't he?
17:32He looks even more built up than last year.
17:3722-year-old from Spain.
17:55The cross is no good at all from Sainz.
18:00The cross is no good at all from Sainz.
18:14Good time for Farioli to panic.
18:20Must be the first time that Porto dropped points in the top flight this season.
18:37The face ball, going for Vega.
18:42The face ball means free kick for Porto, the teenager.
18:54See it to Zewski causing real problems.
19:21Well inside the Final Ten.
19:28This is promising for Porto, Tietrzejewski, oh it's been ruled out, just as he was wheeling
19:38away in celebration, this is going to be another career, yeah he does look like he's leaning
19:51offside there but it is very tight, Roman Correa the number 44, the closest to playing
19:59him onside, he couldn't get close enough there as Tietrzejewski picked his spot, what a finish
20:06that was, Thiago Salves the referee waits for word, Thiago Martins and the VAO team have
20:24to get this right, the goal is good, what a moment for Porto, and for Pietrzejewski, great,
20:51a great first touch, the Maritimo defenders were tired, they were panicking, they could
21:00do nothing to stop this hugely talented teenager, 18 year old Oskar Pietrzejewski, he may well
21:11have won the game for Porto, Maritimo won Porto 2, 58% possession for Porto, they have been better in
21:34this second period, Maritimo had four attempts at goal, none in this second half, is that going to happen?
21:41change in the final minute or two, Enrique from distance, spilled, but what a clearance that is, Paolo Enrique skidding
21:53one along the surface, Diogo Costa couldn't hold on, but Jan Bednarek has saved the day for Porto, he beat
22:02Blacic to the rebound, incredible defending.
22:22That pass is short, but the interception is missed by Moura, the cross comes in, they're all up for it,
22:30Costa able to claim it.
22:35For the home team, Jalei has gone forward, the centre-back, it's come out to Bomba, the former Borussia Dortmund
22:44man, Enrique attacking signs, Froholt read the play beautifully,
22:50and he will get it as far away as possible from the Porto goal, but he's challenged to good effect
22:57by Andrade, the wet surface though, sees the ball spin out of play,
23:04and that is the end of the game, a real battle for both these teams, Jalei and Maritimo in front
23:14on 16 minutes, Froholt the number 8 at Porto level on 42.
