00:00Four people have died, and hundreds of thousands of residents across Florida, Alabama, and
00:06Georgia were left without power after Hurricane Isaias made landfall early on Saturday, weakening
00:12into a post-tropical cyclone, according to local authorities and electricity monitoring
00:17services.
00:18In Florida, restoring power was a top priority as highways, bridges, and airports began reopening
00:25and crews assessed the damage.
00:28In Destin, near where the hurricane made landfall, residents spent the day clearing fallen branches
00:33and debris scattered by the storm.
00:36Some said they were relieved the damage was not as extensive as they had feared.
00:41I'm very glad, actually, that I didn't go and wipe everybody's businesses and all the
00:46stuff that everybody's been working for their whole life.
00:48It's really expensive over here in Destin, so a lot of damage can cause a lot of money,
00:53and a lot of these people are older people around the community, and they've been paying
00:57and working their whole life.
00:58They don't want to pay for a storm, and they took down all their business and precious
01:03homes and everything.
01:05So I'm very happy that they didn't wipe out everything, and we were really scared about
01:10our dock and our boat, but I'm actually very glad.
01:14Very lucky.
01:15Very lucky.
01:16Very lucky.
01:16For as big of a hurricane as they predicted, things were not as bad as they could be.
01:22A few trees down, the electricity went out probably about 8 o'clock last night, so not
01:29as bad as it could be.
01:31We feel very fortunate.
01:33Hurricane Isaias rapidly weakened after making landfall along Florida's coast as a Category
01:392 hurricane, the first hurricane of the 2026 Atlantic season.
01:44The National Hurricane Center said the storm was expected to bring gusty winds further inland
01:49before weakening below gale force later on Saturday.
02:03After that, let me see you will find a están in the back of the ice storm.
02:03The temperature's a high-stump storm, so I can't wait for a storm storm or a storm storm.
02:03It will be in the heat that really didn't be on the beach, so I can't wait for the storm
