04:35Gato felt he squeezed every penny that he could have out of the Rainmaker and now it was time to
04:42move on and hit your wagon to this, I mean talk about a bright rising star.
04:49Gato reminds me of a monkey in the sense that he doesn't let go of one branch until he's got
04:54a firm grip on the next and the next, the future if you will is Jay White and I would
05:00say he's not wrong about that, this kid is unbelievable.
05:03Yep, 365 days in the cutthroat era, he debuted one year ago here at Wrestle Kingdom and that was just
05:14the beginning, just the beginning of what has been one of the greatest, most impactful years any one athlete has
05:23ever had.
05:40Fans, you're up as we're back to the Rainmaker entrance.
05:44In the red corner, from Chaos, Rainmaker, Katsushita, O'Kara.
05:54The Rain is calling for O'Kara. He says that Jay White reminds him of himself all those years ago.
06:05A guy that was hung up on taking down the top man.
06:13But O'Kara says no, no, no. The Rainmaker era has not begun yet. The Rainmaker era is now.
06:22Rainmaker, O'Kara, O'Kara, O'Kara!
06:27He is going to make it rain here in Tokyo Dome and he is gonna look to settle a very
06:33personal score here with the Switchblade.
06:39And he is going to make it rain. Can he make it rain or will the Switchblade top his neck
06:43and make it rain flood?
06:55Okada said of Switchblade Jay White, he feels that Jay White is the toughest foreigner in New Japan right now.
07:02Tougher than Omega, tougher than Chris Jericho.
07:08Boy, you better be careful who he mouths off about because he's a man on an island tonight.
07:32Back to the Trumps, I like it.
07:34Hey!
07:38He's back or has he begun anew?
07:41Oh, they're gonna tear into each other.
07:43No, they're not.
07:45That will put the Long Boys in Mothballs for now.
07:49Do you hear that, Gato?
07:51Do you hear that?
07:55They're stupid, he says.
07:57Gato says these people are stupid.
08:09Come on, Gato, come on, come on.
08:15Okada now charges in, gets caught.
08:20Okada is not normally a hothead, but I think Gato just brings it out of him.
08:25Well, how can you blame it?
08:27Well, you can't get suckered into anything here.
08:29You can't lose your temper against Switchblade Jay White.
08:33The only non-title match on the main card of Wrestle Kingdom 13 is this one.
08:40And it is almost bizarre to imagine Okada not in a title mix here at Wrestle Kingdom.
08:47That just goes to show how personal this is, Kevin.
08:55Passing up potential title opportunities to exact his revenge, rather, on Switchblade Jay White.
09:02Chono there.
09:06Can't do much better than Masahiro Chono.
09:09No.
09:09It is always great to see him here at these big events.
09:19Chono himself was never afraid to dun the blackest of hats.
09:24And look at this.
09:25Tries to trip Okada just enough, just enough to give Switchblade the offensive opportunity he needed.
09:34And the one thing about Jay White, he does not miss when he gets an opening dunk.
09:39He absolutely does not.
09:40Very precise and very confident.
09:44Look at that.
09:45Saito suplex over the top, to the floor, hit his back on the apron.
09:52So much confidence brimming in Switchblade Jay White.
09:57In the many, many months that Okada held that title, the amount of punishment he took, Kevin.
10:03The amount of punishment he took in those long matches, that takes a toll on your body.
10:09And Jay White is gonna look to take advantage.
10:14Perhaps that was part of the rationale if you try to make a reason why Ghetto would betray Okada.
10:20Perhaps he realized that that 720-day fourth reign as IWGP Heavyweight Champion took too much of a toll on
10:30Okada.
10:31And that maybe it's best for the long bet to bet on the Switchblade, who now will jam the spine
10:40of Okada,
10:40first into the barricade and then into the edge of the ring frame, time and time again.
10:45Lex Luger famously said once, if you have a Ferrari and you drive the hell out of it after a
10:51while,
10:52it's not a Ferrari anymore.
10:53And that's clearly what Ghetto thought about Okada.
10:57Too many miles, gonna move on to a new model.
11:02The man like Ghetto, who was a father figure, if you will, for Kazuchika Okada.
11:09I guess that's how you treat your son.
11:12I guess that's how you treat somebody in a family.
11:14Well, not all fathers are created equal as we know.
11:17And hopefully Okada has learned a lesson about exactly what kind of a human wood tick Ghetto is.
11:24Blood sucking spot picker.
11:28Flies in, boy, the year of the Switchblade.
11:31Another Saito Suplex coming up, yes.
11:37And a cover.
11:39What a dominating win this would be, but Okada kicks out.
11:43Debut a year ago, as we said, at Wrestle Kingdom 12.
11:47One night later, he scorned Kenny Omega and Bullet Club on January 5th.
11:52He joined Chaos the following day.
11:55Very shortly, Switchblade Jay White predicted that Bullet Club would turn on Kenny Omega.
12:04Switchblade would go on to defeat Omega, new beginning on January 29th.
12:08Now, the turn eventually happened on July the 7th.
12:12But was Switchblade pulling strings all along behind the scenes?
12:16I believe so, I mean, his strategic thinking belies his young years, Kevin.
12:23He is a master strategist at, what is he, 25?
12:2626 now.
12:2726 years old.
12:29Amazing.
12:30And beat Tanahashi and Okada in the G1.
12:34He holds pinfall victories over Kenny Omega, Hiroshi Tanahashi, and Kazuchika Okada in 2018, folks.
12:42And Okada having to turn back the clock.
12:47Don the Rainmaker, moniker and attire once again.
12:51Wasn't that long ago, Kevin, and Okada was the 26-year-old predominant.
12:56And now the same things that were being said about him are being said about Jay White.
13:00Okada has no answers for Switchblade Jay White, but maybe there does.
13:05White left himself open.
13:07Okada slapping the face.
13:09Okada physically looks better than I've seen him in a long time.
13:13Maybe losing the title wasn't the worst thing for Okada, not for his body anyway.
13:19And it seemed as if the beginning part of the post-title reign.
13:24We speculated heavily about the mental state of Okada.
13:30But now the Rainmaker is starting to build momentum.
13:47DDT.
13:49To the cover and a count of two, Switchblade kicks out.
13:53Okada reminds me a lot of vintage Bret Hart.
13:56He's got a move set that he goes to.
13:58People know it's coming, but they've got no answer.
14:01In the months of November and December, the goal for the Switchblade was to crush
14:09the dream team of Okada and Tanahashi repeatedly.
14:12Going 7-0 in a variety of tag team matches throughout the last two calendar months of 2018.
14:22But even when Okada could get the upper hand against Gato in Coral Crane Hall,
14:28Jay White was able to turn that situation around as well.
14:30Trying to drive Okada, head and shoulder first.
14:34Now a drop kick from the top, down goes Switchblade.
14:46Looks like he might have tweaked his quad or his MCL on the way over.
15:00The referee yelling at both men to get back in the ring.
15:03He can yell all he wants.
15:05Over the barricade, watch out, Gato, from behind.
15:08Look out now.
15:12Murderous, come on, there we go.
15:20There it goes.
15:21The gate hit him in the back of the head.
15:26Switchblade and Gato are out.
15:30They're gonna be joined by Okada.
15:37Revisiting Wrestle Kingdom's past for a high impact collision.
15:44On his two hated rivals, take a look down.
15:50Look, Gato hit his head on the way over.
15:55Never thought I'd be cheering Okada, but by God, that was great.
16:02Of course, it was Gato who betrayed Okada and sided with the Switchblade in September.
16:07And then in the month of October, Switchblade and Gato completed the merger with Bullet Club.
16:18Looking with disgust over at Gato's prone body on the outside.
16:22Come on, Jay!
16:33From the big elbow?
16:35Yeah, he's gonna walk it to the top.
16:36Come on, Jay!
16:41Okada elbows!
16:45It's been a while since we've seen this.
16:49Will he remember how to do it?
16:51Will he remember the Rainmaker pose?
17:02And now, can he do it?
17:10Face first.
17:13German suplex.
17:20Great power by Jay White.
17:24Okay.
17:36Stuffs him with the uranage in the center of the ring and Okada kills him.
17:41Six out and two.
17:43Joshi, I say level uranage.
17:50Well, Blade Runner, turn out the lights if he hits it.
18:09Wait a minute now.
18:11Jay White just signaled something to Gato.
18:15Gato put the chair there on the edge of the ring.
18:18We see that.
18:20Look what it's purpose is.
18:23Oh, come on now.
18:24What is this?
18:25What has he got?
18:25The brass knuckles in his pocket again?
18:35Good.
18:37Dropkick.
18:43Another top pick.
18:49All the momentum.
18:52On the way to Rainmaker Dome.
18:55Ooh.
18:56Wow.
18:57On the head.
18:59And just like that, momentum changes again.
19:15Going back to his old finisher, Kiwi Crusher.
19:18Got it.
19:19Name for his native New Zealand, he'll take victory here.
19:22Oh, come on.
19:23No, no, no, no.
19:25Just that close.
19:26No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
19:30White maintains wrist control.
19:33Okada has had no answer for the Blade Runner.
19:40Slips out.
19:43Turn him over, and stand him on his head with a Tombstone Power Rider.
19:47But can he follow up, Kevin?
19:49Sous-titrage Société Radio-Canada
20:19J-White has done, he has brought warring parties and differences of opinion together, and
20:25they unite as one.
20:27I just heard J-White say to Okada, not now, not enough, you can't get it.
20:35Psychological war games being deployed by the Switchbacks.
20:38He was talking trash to Okada all day yesterday at the FanFast.
20:47Reversal though, Dropkick, no.
20:50Hangs on, he will not miss, Blade Runner, no he will, wait a second, backslide, no.
20:58Underneath, Raidmaker, Dropkick, Dropkick.
21:12Here we go, Raidmaker, no.
21:17It's the head and arm.
21:18Yeah, going for it a second time.
21:22Blade Runner, again a sidestep.
21:25Another tombstone.
21:29Great reversal.
21:31Oh, what a way to position up.
21:34Oh, right.
21:36Kuranagi, no.
21:38Spinning Raidmaker, yes!
21:40Raidmaker!
21:42This is unreal.
21:51One more time.
21:55He's stuck to the ground, Blade Runner, Blade Runner!
22:03Here is your winner, Jay White!
22:18Three hundred and sixty six days into this era, which has been owned by Switchblade, Jay White.
22:31As much as it pains me to say this, Gato made the right call moving on from the Raidmaker.
22:39We might be witnessing the end of the Okada era.
22:43Too many matches, too many minutes, too much abuse.
22:47Welcome to the era of the Switchblade.
22:52Don, you are one for hyperbole and being a prisoner of the moment, but I cannot disagree with you.
23:02Okada even turning back the hands of time and going back to the former look of the Rainmaker and still
23:15couldn't get it done.
23:18He cannot beat.
23:21Kazuchika Okada cannot beat Switchblade, Jay White.
23:25Can anybody beat Switchblade, Jay White?
23:29Did you see the Nurella?
23:31No.
23:32Did you see the Nurella?
23:34Did you see the Nurela?
23:34They're getting the money here.
23:35Yeah!
23:47And the bet that Gato made continues to pay.
23:52Did you see the new era?
24:03It is a new era.
