00:00In Cummins, agriculture isn't just an industry, it's the heartbeat of the community.
00:06From its innovative farming to its main street mule, mosaics, bakery and butcher, Cummins
00:13is a town built on local connections.
00:15I think Cummins has always really valued Cummins as a community for itself and that idea of
00:22being self-sufficient.
00:24Here at Carinia we have a rural accredited butcher shop where we direct market our own
00:28grass-fed and finished beef, we run events and school tours, teaching us where their food
00:33comes from.
00:34We have our beautiful mule here at Cummins where they are processing local grain, they're selling
00:39it to the bakery.
00:40There's a fantastic connection with the produce that people grow here on the Air Peninsula.
00:44They wanted a space to grow food so yeah they created that community garden.
00:48I think people are striving continually not only to be good stewards but to also be great
00:52business people.
00:53Everything happens for a purpose and to try and showcase Cummins as a community because
01:01they understand the power of we as opposed to the power of one.
01:06Cummins is a place where individuals work together to create something bigger.
01:11A community powered by pride in local produce and a motivation to be self-sufficient.
01:16And that community spirit has earned Cummins its place as a finalist for the 2026 Agricultural
01:24town of the year.
