00:06On the 9th of this month, 9th of October, we celebrated the World Post Day.
00:11And now, ongoing, we are celebrating the National Postal Week.
00:15In its aegis, we today celebrated, yesterday and today, what is called the Philatelic Days.
00:23Now, Philatelic is not only a passion of collecting stamps,
00:26it is a passion of everything that marks in a postal stationery about your memories.
00:33The Philatelic passport that you saw became the imagination of discovering Karnataka,
00:39your beautiful state in its hidden nooks and corners across 31 districts.
00:45And seeing how the post office functions work and who are these Gen Z GDSs or Grameen Dark Savers and
00:54the Grameen Postmasters.
00:55So, our postal, Philatelic passport has 100 pictorial cancellations of important sites of Karnataka,
01:04historical places, places of interest, of flora, of fauna, of textiles,
01:10of everything that is beautiful to celebrate in Karnataka.
01:14And we also did what?
01:16We brought in Digital Detox, where we designed a special postcard of a modernized Chenna Patna toys with augmented reality,
01:27which we told people have to write to their loved ones.
01:31The joy of writing to say, I care, to say that these words I just wrote for you, it's meant
01:38for you.
01:39The romance of letters, the romance of being the singular standing postal network of this great country,
01:47India as we know, and the beautiful state of Karnataka.
01:50And as you say, saw, it took the fancy of the young generation.
01:54Gen Z, Gen Alpha in hordes.
01:57Lines of two kilometers.
02:00Lines that started yesterday night.
02:02I saw from 9.30 p.m., I myself went out and interacted with them at 12.
02:08And one fellow told me, a person who's a Gen Z,
02:11if I don't get this passport, I'm going to commit suicide.
02:14I said, please, don't do that.
02:16It's got the imagination.
02:18Young people want to discover.
02:20So this passport became the way to discover not only Karnataka, but rediscover India post.
02:27Today when I asked, everybody told me that, please keep it offline because it gave us a chance to come
02:34to the post office.
02:35So many told me, it's the first time we've come to a post office.
02:39First time for an 18-year-old, 19-year-old.
02:42So maybe this is rediscovering yourself, rediscovering what these lovely government institutions stand for.
02:49An institution which has long history, legacy.
02:52An institution that's changed the face of digital economy of the country under our Prime Minister, Honorable Rendra Modriji.
