Cirkus — One (1973, UK, Progressive Rock)

Cirkus — One (1973, UK, Progressive Rock)

A band from Ashington (Northumberland). Its lineup included former members of the groups Moonhead and Lucas Tyson. Ron Richards, the producer for The Hollies, liked the band, and in 1973, a thousand vinyl copies of their debut album, *Cirkus*, went on sale. A very beautiful, rich sound and excellent arrangements... All in all, a strong record that followed a path already well-trodden by other bands. In 1975, singer Paul Robson left Cirkus. Vocalist/saxophonist Alan Roadhouse took over as frontman, and the ensemble shifted to playing straightforward mainstream music. They were unable to create anything else of interest and were forced to disband in the early eighties... Yet, thanks to this work, they are remembered!
