00:00One ticket, one concert, one whole holiday.
00:04Malaysia's concert calendar is getting wild.
00:07My Chemical Romance, The Weeknd, and BTS.
00:10Three huge names, thousands of fans, and potentially a whole lot more people
00:14travelling to Malaysia just for their experience.
00:17And these are just some of the acts set to light up Malaysia's concert scene
00:21among the dozens scheduled to perform.
00:23In fact, concerts are no longer just about what happens inside the stadium.
00:27They're becoming a serious tourism draw.
00:30And we've already seen what that can look like.
00:32Take the Rain Rave Water Music Festival earlier this year.
00:35Over three days, it attracted 150,000 domestic tourists
00:40and another 100,000 foreign tourists,
00:43including those from China, Japan, India, South Korea, Singapore, and Indonesia.
00:49And the economic returns?
00:51320.43 million ringgit just for one festival.
00:56And this is part of a much bigger trend.
00:58Malaysia recorded 106.5 million domestic tourists last year,
01:03almost 70% more than in 2015.
01:07Kuala Lumpur alone jumped from 3 million domestic tourists in 2015 to 10 million.
01:13Industry players say concerts, sports events, and festivals
01:17are increasingly giving people a reason to travel.
01:20And it's not just Malaysians who are taking notice.
01:22Malaysia recorded 28.8 million international visitors in the first eight months of 2026.
01:29So, for an overseas fan, the calculation is pretty simple.
01:33Come for the concert and turn it into a holiday.
01:36And that's the opportunity Malaysia is chasing.
01:39Because the next big act announced here isn't just another name on a concert poster.
01:43It could mean thousands more people crossing the border,
01:47flying in, and discovering what Malaysia has to offer.
01:49So, yes, we may have missed Taylor Swift's Aeros tour.
01:53But with Big Bang, Westlife, and J.A. Chow scheduled to perform here next year,
01:57Malaysia's concert story is set to be even more electrifying.
02:00And for Malaysia's tourism industry,
02:03the encore could last much, much longer.
02:05So, yes, let's see.
