00:10After the meeting, Anwar said the federal and state governments must strengthen cooperation
00:16under the proposed National Covenant Framework to ensure more sustainable, equitable and balanced development.
00:23He said the framework, outlined in Budget 2027, was a key focus of the meeting
00:29and it aimed to strengthen federal-state cooperation while promoting inclusive development and public well-being.
00:37He said amid global economic uncertainties and fluctuations in oil prices,
00:42the budget must continue to safeguard the people's welfare, address the rising cost of living
00:48and take into account the priorities of individual states.
00:52These include border security, particularly in Sabah and Sarawak.
00:57He stressed the need to align development plans and allocations with actual needs on the ground,
01:04prioritising improvements in public service delivery, infrastructure, state economies
01:09and projects that directly benefit the people.
01:12The meeting also discussed the importance of post-quantum cryptography
01:16in strengthening the protection of national data and digital systems
01:21against emerging technological challenges and future cyber security threats.
01:26On the transboundary haze, Anwar said Indonesia had been urged to take immediate and effective action against open burning.
01:35He said decisive measures were necessary to protect public health,
01:38particularly that of school children, and prevent further disruption to schooling.
