00:00Dan Quinn, in hindsight, this was as big of a coaching disaster
00:09and as big of a football blunder as you could possibly have.
00:15The fact that the commanders had the football with 50 seconds left,
00:20like when you go through the timeline, it's on the screen, okay?
00:22The timeline, the game is tied.
00:25Washington is at the 24-yard line for the New York Giants.
00:31There are 50 seconds left with no timeouts.
00:35The clock gets spotted.
00:37Sorry, the ball gets spotted and the clock runs.
00:41The next time that Jaden Daniels snapped the football
00:45after the ball got spotted with 50 seconds left
00:49was with 12 seconds on the clock.
00:53Like, there were a multitude of opportunities to stop the clock.
01:00Spike the ball.
01:02Throw the ball out of bounds.
01:05You had no timeouts.
01:07And everyone was lallygagging around.
01:10When they snapped the ball with 12 seconds,
01:12if they had run a quick out pattern,
01:15if they had thrown the ball away,
01:16if they had done something,
01:18the clock would have stopped.
01:19The thing they could not do was run the football
01:23and then not get back on the ball extremely quickly
01:29because Jaden Daniels snaps the ball.
01:33He runs around and he realizes,
01:37wait, I don't know what to do here.
01:39And then he goes down like it's in college or something.
01:43He gets a first down and the clock's going to stop.
01:46He goes down, the clock keeps running,
01:49the Giants run off the field,
01:50and after the game, Dan Quinn is blaming himself,
01:53saying, that's all on me.
01:54All that comes through me.
01:57How did they not kick the game-winning field goal?
02:00It is one of the most egregious coaching mistakes.
02:04It's one of the most insane endings in the history of the NFL
02:08when you really go back and watch that
02:10and you piece it together
02:12and you go play-by-play and step-by-step
02:14as to how the commanders got into that position
02:17and how they were unable
02:19to do something very, very basic.
02:23Stop the clock.
02:24There were like 15 different things
02:26they could have done to stop the clock.
02:28They chose the one
02:30that would have run the clock out.
02:33And the quarterback and coach
02:35did not realize what was happening
02:38with 50 seconds left.
02:42That is an unreal amount of
02:45just being disconnected from reality.
02:51When you really go back and watch that
02:53and you really go through all of it,
02:55it is one of, and I'm 49 years old,
02:57I can't remember an end-of-game situation
03:00be that poorly run by an NFL franchise.
03:04If we were watching
03:05a high school football playoff game
03:07and that happened,
03:09that'd be one of those things
03:10that would be on SportsCenter
03:11and we'd be watching it going like,
03:13damn, high school kids, man.
03:15Didn't realize the clock was running.
03:17Oh my gosh, that's how the game ends.
03:19Oh, that's awful.
03:21This is the NFL.
03:23These coaches are paid millions
03:25and millions of dollars
03:26to know what they're doing.
03:29Head coaches and quarterbacks
03:31are extremely well compensated
03:34because they're supposed to be smarter
03:36football-wise than anybody else.
03:40And you're supposed to prepare your players.
03:43Dan Quinn has his job today.
03:45I can't believe Dan Quinn has his job today.
03:48They're 1-3-1.
03:49And after that,
03:51I don't know how in the world
03:52you walk into that locker room
03:53and feel like our head coach
03:55is on the ball.
03:56Like our guy,
03:57our head coach
03:58understands what's happening.
04:00All the coaches
04:01are on the chopping block
04:03in my mind.
04:04Everyone, you're like,
04:05wait, it's not just Dan Quinn,
04:06although Dan Quinn
04:07is taking the bullet for everybody.
04:09It's the entire coaching staff.
