00:04Today marks 100 years of Winnie-the-Pooh,
00:07a childhood classic for so many people.
00:11And to celebrate, the original publisher of the book is launching a campaign.
00:15Starting with this iconic phone box library in Chatham,
00:20Farshaw are going to be distributing the brand new
00:23100th Anniversary Winnie-the-Pooh sequel
00:26across 150 community libraries across the UK
00:30to encourage younger children to enjoy reading.
00:34And students from one primary school got a sneak peek at the sequel,
00:38way ahead of everyone else.
00:40Why do you like Winnie-the-Pooh so much?
00:42Because I think the characters are funny and it's really joyful to read.
00:47And who's your favourite character?
00:49Everyone. It's just amazing.
00:52Because it's so funny.
00:59Because Winnie-the-Pooh really likes honey.
01:03And honey is one of my favourite things.
01:06I like his party hat.
01:09Winnie-the-Pooh's party hat.
01:11And do you read a lot when you're at home as well?
01:13Yeah, I read so many Winnie-the-Pooh books.
01:15And I just reached the 100,000 book.
01:20That is amazing to read.
01:23As part of the launch of the campaign,
01:26actress Sally Phillips read the new book to the children.
01:29My dad had Winnie-the-Pooh read to him.
01:30He then read it to us.
01:33And I have read it in turn to my children.
01:36So then when they said,
01:37will you come and read it at community library?
01:39It seemed like a nice way to finish off my connection with the 100th birthday of Winnie-the-Pooh.
01:45The children also got the opportunity to have a story writing workshop where the author of the sequel helped them
01:51write the perfect Winnie-the-Pooh breakfast.
01:54And they had an illustration class learning directly from the illustrator of the sequel how to draw the classic Winnie
02:01-the-Pooh.
02:02Something I had a go at myself.
02:04What did you think about the day today? Did you have a good time?
02:08Yeah.
02:08What did you enjoy the most?
02:10Drawing.
02:11I'm making my song. I love you so I'm making a book about me.
02:14What was your favourite part of the day?
02:16To do drawings and to design my own and to read the book as well.
02:23And with today marking 100 years of adventures in the Hundred Acre Woods,
02:27it looks like a whole new generation just can't get enough of this silly old bear.
