00:00Kenya has reported a second Ebola case raising fresh concerns about the spread
00:05of the deadly virus across East Africa. The 39-year-old patient, a close
00:10relative of Kenya's first case, was already in quarantine when he developed
00:14symptoms on Tuesday, according to the Health Ministry. The first patient, a
00:19Kenyan man who had been ill in the Democratic Republic of Congo, traveled
00:24through Uganda before flying to Nairobi on October 3rd. He died in hospital two
00:28days later. The case has sparked questions over border screening after the patient
00:34crossed from Congo into Uganda, despite the border reportedly being closed since
00:39May. The outbreak, driven by the rare bunji bunja strain, has killed more than 4,000
00:45people in Congo with over 8,000 cases recorded. Uganda, which reported 20 cases
00:50and two deaths earlier this year, was declared Ebola-free in August. Ebola spreads
00:57through direct contact with bodily fluids of infected people.
