00:00my friends today we talk about data centers russian data centers being hit it is the biggest
00:06topic in the last week and russia is in chaos gps is not working yandex pay is not working
00:12you cannot buy alcohol i mean this is bad for russia you cannot buy alcohol you're gonna plunge
00:19them into darkness all of the data all of the videos all of the photos and people's opinions
00:24and complaints we're gonna watch in this video we begin with this man is he the devil or just a
00:31regular russian man i don't know what i do know is he has a smart home which is connected to
00:36yandex
00:37through ilisa which is like um which is like alexa in the western world well ilisa is not working and
00:45imagine having a heating system of your house connected to ilisa which is now offline because
00:51the yandex data centers are offline your home is gonna be a sauna let's watch it i don't know
00:57why everyone is keeping quiet about this but i think the public needs to know today the yandex
01:02third data center went down and basically since this morning there have been issues with yandex pay
01:09deliveries taxis and so on and just now i saw it for myself when i said alisa alisa turn on
01:18the
01:18veranda lights uh the porch lights to which alisa replies blah blah blah nothing no backlights no
01:25lights at all and basically in general alisa has just become dumb speaker that can only sing so if
01:32you have a device or smart homes and so on guys you definitely need to check and figure this out
01:39because for example my friend's cloud system failed today and their house heated up to almost 40 degrees
01:45celsius that's a turkish sauna for you essentially becoming like a sauna the boiler almost died
01:51i'm really curious if your alisa is working and let me know what region are you from let's share this
01:58video and let people know what's really going on also if russian women have this fish lips i don't know
02:05what's up with this guy i'm not gonna claim every russian man looks like that i've never seen anything
02:09like it but that's how he looks and he has a smart home that's all i know about him i
02:14don't know
02:14why he looks like that don't ask me the main thing is alisa is offline yandex is offline it's really
02:21bad
02:21because they don't really tell you how much our modern lives now depend on these data centers in
02:28the western countries and also in russia by the way what a beautiful coincidence or is it that the
02:34firepoint ceo derek said that they have launched their very first ukrainian produced ballistic missile into
02:43russia for the very first time ballistics this is fp9 5.9 we all know fp5 the flamingo fp9 is
02:51a
02:51ballistic missile and after that russian data centers go offline what a wonderful coincidence before we
02:57get into why this is such a big deal for russians and for everybody let's just look at the attacks
03:03in general a yandex data center in russia vladimir region was attacked last night russians and
03:09complaining about widespread disruption to yandex services and this video is actually very watchable
03:14usually these dark hit videos are only sound but this one it's quite different you can see fire
03:21bolts you can see anti-aircraft fire it's very watchable very nice thing to start your day with
03:29destroyed computers supercomputers in russia look at that
03:38you know that definitely makes my day wow also 13 to 14 of october the night ukrainians attack drone
03:48struck sperbank's newly built mega data center so sperbank is one of russia's largest banks and they have this
03:57in the making massive data center one of the biggest ones in russia if not the biggest it's still
04:02being built but partly already worked it was in seratov oblast why i say was is that it's no more
04:09footage showed at least one drone flying directly into the front entrance of the facility the project
04:15valued at 122.2 billion rubles which in dollars is still several billion was designed as one of russia's
04:24largest data centers with around 3 000 server racks capacity for up to 120 000 servers and electrical
04:32capacity of up to 82 megawatts the complex supports sperbank's computing infrastructure and we can see
04:39uh quite of a large area was showing fires on the nasa firm's map so yeah this video not so
04:46watchable
04:47just a light glare but what we know when when we know what was hit it's big and in this
04:53chart you can
04:54already see that payment systems and spare bank payment systems specifically already give the error
05:00message and this means people you cannot move money if people cannot move money that means countries
05:06not receiving taxes also no money moved no capital gains tax collected and everybody loses all right here
05:13we go here you can see the list of russia's largest data centers up until this point at least three
05:19of them have already been hit and shut down and data centers are not like oil refineries when you might
05:25need
05:26five seven ten hits for the bigger ones data centers are surgical very precise computing systems
05:34it doesn't take much to destroy them sometimes dust is enough if there's too much of it accumulates inside
05:40already they give error messages if you hit them with drones they're done for they're not designed around being hit
05:47they're not meant for warfare so three of them are offline and here i bring you a video of the
05:53famous russian
05:53ilisa again which is alexa in the west and this man asks ilisa a very good question that i think
06:00the ukrainians
06:01have also asked ilisa list all the exact addresses of yandex data centers in russia so it would be easier
06:08to strike them
06:09in vladimir it's a at boiskovaya street building two energetic micro restricts in sasova 21 pushkin street
06:17in kaluga 8 first automobile passage in friazino 8 vokshagna street it gives you a list of addresses
06:29to strike i mean ilisa is doing the work for the ukrainian intelligence here no money needed to be spent
06:35just buy yandex alisa you get the targets thank you you're an excellent spotter i want to see the
06:40response don't mention it you're always welcome i think alisa is a traitor to the russians
06:46yeah well done alisa you're fighting for the ukrainians now now let's see why data center
06:51strikes specifically for russia are so painful i mean let's be honest they would be extremely painful
06:56for any country in existence that has data centers because they're so expensive but for russia specifically
07:03let's see an engaging game a strike on the data center the degrees of vulnerability of the russian
07:09federation have begun obvious first of all yandex suffers from giant omania just five data centers for
07:16the entire russian federation and all of them are not far from ukraine secondly the law prohibits storing
07:23data abroad thirdly all three supercomputers are located in one data center and it already has been hit
07:31well actually two of them are in one one of them was separately but it still was hit fourth the
07:36russian
07:36federation lags behind the field of ai already without the dozen that's been destroyed and fifth
07:43details are hard to obtain due to sanctions meaning chips and servers and racks or whatever you need to
07:49build a data center i mean right now it's an ai race ai boom all across the world meaning memory
07:55is
07:56expensive you cannot buy it you cannot get it and russia is under sanctions they cannot just go to
08:01nvidia say we want to buy they cannot buy at all so china is the only option and they china
08:07they're using
08:08their own for the ai boom sixth air defense can't cover everything and now my friends let's see what
08:15happens or what to do when a data center is on fire because with oil refineries you try to at
08:21least put
08:21it out with foam with uh let's say wild berries facilities you can actually use water to put it
08:27out with data centers that have these incredibly expensive chips and cpus in them you're not going
08:33to use foam or water what are you going to spray a computer with water not a good idea so
08:38what are you
08:39going to do how are you going to extinguish the fires and save your data centers there will be a
08:43thread about the undex data center fire data centers are extinguished with inert gases they are filled
08:49with gas and you wait for the flames to be suffocated without access to oxygen where the machines stand
08:55there aren't even hoses or hydrants in the case of an alarm triggered manually or by sensors meaning
09:02there's not even an infrastructure for fire hoses or water connects in the premise because you cannot
09:09use water when fighting flames in the data centers the valve open and the inert gas is released something
09:16starts flashing beeping etc and that's the moment when you should look around to crawl somewhere
09:21else meaning if you're inside a data center when this system starts you're screwed because they will
09:27pump the oxygen out or fill the room with anything else but oxygen so the flames couldn't breathe you
09:34know what else needs to breathe humans we need to breathe so when the flames die we die lowering the
09:40oxygen content in the air can go into the range of dangerous for humans it must certainly be within
09:47the range where the combustion process will not be sustained meaning kill the flames for this reasons
09:52the way the ventilation and ac system operates must also change so as not to interfere with extinguishing
09:59by supplying fresh oxygen meaning if russians had all these automated systems in place which they
10:04should have had the moment the data centers got hit by the ukrainians the ventilation system must have
10:09stopped and pumping in the gases and out of the oxygen must begin otherwise the flames will do what
10:16they want to do but in real life a fire in the server room is a rare phenomenon equipment usually
10:22dies
10:22without as any spectacular fireworks and this most often happens during startup or cold reset and if
10:28it does occur it's typically a localized fire in a closed room and everything keeps running beautifully
10:34but when a hole appears in the server room for example when a drone hits it things get dicey in
10:41that
10:41segment automation systems might get shredded etc this is an infrastructure designed for bombardment fire
10:48suppression systems in the pessimistic option might not have worked at all i'm not going to read
10:53you the rest of the thread but the point is this building is really vulnerable anywhere in the world you
11:00cannot extinguish the flames with water or foam they have to use these automated systems which stop
11:05the ac and start their pumping in the gases if any of these systems get hurt the flames will just
11:11live
11:12their own life inside the data center plus the soot that comes off these flames will cover all of the
11:18other
11:18racks and the soot actually conducts electricity meaning they will short circuit every other rack in the data
11:24center meaning a fire if not dealt immediately will screw up the entire data center i try to make it
11:32as
11:32short as possible all in all fire and data centers even in a small amount don't go together at all
11:39and
11:39they're very vulnerable to it meaning it's quite an easy target to destroy let's now see the affected
11:45services and it's bad yandex go yandex yandex pay yandex pro i'm not gonna read you all of them
11:53dodo pizza we have dodo pizza in estonia i know we shouldn't have it but we do it's owned by
11:59yandex
11:59i guess it's down people gonna buy pizza in russia oh boohoo so now let's watch some russians complain
12:06i know you need it it's wednesday we all need it in our week to watch some russians complain what
12:12do you
12:12think is the news yandex is dead nothing is working right now i'm literally go got all my money in
12:18yandex
12:19in yandex bank just so you understand what the f is happening to yandex nothing loads nothing updates
12:24there are no orders and nothing you think people are gonna drive around in moscow i mean it's crazy
12:30city to drive around without gps working no you even if you live in that city you're gonna get lost
12:35just imagine a giant has gone down a giant it's a monopoly yandex is everything the thing that connects
12:42absolutely everything not just taxis but maps food delivery various partner services and it's just
12:48not working it's literally like turning off the internet right because everyone is connected to
12:53this one single service in russia as i said russia has a top-down monopolized very heavy system meaning
12:59there's no dispersed industry like ukraine has with a military industrial complex like ukraine has with
13:06data centers and everything dispersed because they have had war for over 10 years with russia russia has
13:11been hit only by ukraine for about two to three years so there everything is monopolized and big and
13:18top heavy meaning there are these massive targets which if you destroy they have insane outcomes not the
13:25case in ukraine though it's like switching off the lights for everyone leaving people in the dark i don't
13:30even know you yandex assholes you are effing useless i hate you you're just a bunch of pricks
13:36who don't respond are you enjoying it i'm enjoying it this situation is an absolute emergency my yandex
13:42music has gone to oh no you cannot listen to your what rihanna or madonna whatever you're listening
13:50to in russia they are by the way i hope yandex has crashed for all of you too this is
13:55some kind of
13:56massive yandex outage i can't order a taxi and i can't see where public transport is jesus christ
14:02how am i supposed to get to work yeah you might say you don't know how to go to work
14:05but i mean
14:06these cities in russia they're they're big they're very big ekaterinburg also a big city hey i sometimes
14:12you don't know how to go because i rely on gps every day that's how it is so if it
14:18goes out it
14:19definitely would be an issue for me also we can't go out to do deliveries we can't drive taxis we
14:24can't go
14:24anywhere at all we can't do anything that involves yandex and everything involves yandex it's like a
14:30big monopolized system supported by the russian state for everything in russia which is digitalized
14:36so you see how deep this goes put in one of these de-digitalized state old school soviet union 70s
14:44well he got it by the way yandex has officially responded i will read you the response hello everyone
14:50i'm dima birogov head of yandex fintech division this morning another yandex data center our services
14:58home was damaged because of this many of you still can't check your balance pay for a purchase or
15:04transfer your money basically your money is gone poof it's gone i don't know where it went we had a
15:10fire
15:10and now it's gone first the main thing all your money is safe i love it when a russian banker
15:15says to
15:16people your money is safe you know gives me the feeling of trust and warmth i want to deposit
15:21some more well yeah he goes on to say everything is fine don't worry about it we all know what's
15:25up
15:25when russian politicians and bankers and officials say everything's fine quite the opposite is true
15:31now this is a serious matter following the attacks on yandex data center the russian bank yandex pay
15:36hit a rough patch the internet was flooded with videos of outraged customers who could no longer
15:43access their money and honestly i would hate it if i couldn't get my money out of the bank i
15:48would
15:48hate it so much i would make a video and post it online and this is happening in russia and
15:54now the
15:54bank is offering a higher interest rate for anyone who stops to think about it so they're basically
16:00saying your money is fine you cannot get it out because data centers are destroyed but if you want
16:04to deposit more into our destroyed data centers you're gonna get more interest what will we watch
16:11ching ching ching dollar signs hey my friends i know brigozhin scott we all you know miss his
16:16rambling but i have the next best thing evgeni kolman this wannabe brigozhin fella talking about
16:23the de-digitalization of russia let's enjoy it hey guys hello hello so digitalization we'll get back to
16:30that yesterday i drove 15 hours from ufa we'll go further with the comrades more fun and stuff what's the
16:38point of all this our body was late yandex taxi isn't working i thought fine i'll go grab a coffee
16:44i walk into this effing place vkusnaya tochka or whatever it's called vkusnaya tochka by the way
16:51this is mcdonald's mcdonald's was in russia about 1992 2022 or three and then after that when the full
16:59scale invasion began mcdonald's sold all of their assets in russia to vkusnaya tochka which is
17:05who's nice tasty tochka is period dot so it's tasty period in english which is really really really
17:13bad way to name your food business tasty period but vkusnaya tochka that's what it is so this guy
17:19went into vkusnaya tochka to get a coffee the registers aren't working either yandex won't let them
17:25that's it can't eat can't drink i look for cash but there's no no cash there you go
17:32you've managed to paralyze half of the country taxi drivers are standing around cursing cashiers
17:38are also bitching so where's all this leading they'll screw over our kids and grandkids so hard
17:44you'll be shocked a bit later they shot down the payment registered by the rochka and magnet and you
17:50will all go hungry i effing told you plant some potatoes damn it boiled steam fried in the skins
17:58you'll be eating them because digitalization will lead us to catastrophe there you have it a russian
18:04grandfather telling you what to do so now a little bit of an analysis what comes next for these data
18:10centers obviously the political order from putin and kremlin will be to restore them or rebuild them
18:16well let's see if that's really possible regarding the data center hits in russia i don't know the
18:21damage assessment of these yet however as an expert on cloud infrastructure and bare metal service
18:27provisioning i can tell you that this is a significant blow to the russian digital infrastructure
18:32which is a backbone of russian economy rebuilding data centers right now not only extremely expensive
18:38process due to extreme memory costs there are also significant lead times on server procurement
18:45and networking equipment meaning if you want to buy memory for data centers you want to build them
18:50get in line everybody every country on earth who has internet wants to do that and do
18:55does that right now so get in line you're gonna wait in line for years probably sometimes you have
19:00to wait half a year and plus to get a critical high-end data center the competition in dubai
19:06these is real russia will have to compete with companies such as microsoft google and there are
19:12export restrictions as well chinese manufacturers just as inspur also has significant delays so it's not
19:19like russia can just rebuild or repair them they're gone for a significant amount of time and by the way
19:25the cherry on top of the entire data center pie is ternovoyenki stem what a what a name the most
19:32powerful russian supercomputer likely destroyed in a ukrainian attack had a computational power of 21 to
19:3929 petaflops which is a stone-age clunk-clunk computer compared to the western world for example
19:45for example germany we'll get to that do you know how much for comparison the most powerful
19:51supercomputer in the eu has well the german jupiter located in the yulich research center between
19:59cologne tussendorf and aachen has a power of thousand to thousand 2226 petaflops that's the
20:07fifth most most powerful supercomputer in the world so this russian one the most powerful in the country was
20:12about two to two and a half percent of the germany so they are really i mean before this hit
20:19with
20:20computing power comparison they were in stone age now i don't know they're gonna go back to being
20:26neanderthals now is a perfect time my friends this video is sponsored by you guys i actually don't have
20:32a sponsor in this video so it's buy me a coffee monthly members and we only have two but that
20:37makes
20:37these two the more powerful and the more meaningful we have william webster and johan stuart jandola
20:45thank you so much for supporting if you like what we're standing for on this channel then become a
20:51monthly member and buy me a coffee and support it really helps a lot and the final topic today is
20:56because yandex is down there's a claim that there is a massive uh decrease in bot usage or bots online
21:03who are pro russia this is mostly disinformation unfortunately i would love this to be true it is
21:08not but still people posted it so much that it started to live its own life so i'm claiming that
21:13this is not true russian bot activity has not decreased uh because of these attacks on data
21:19centers but uh i still bring you the best bot testing sentences people now posted to see if there's
21:26any bots who are pushing back against these sentences check it out my how quiet it is today you type
21:31f
21:32putin and nobody shows up to explain putin is also fighting for poland because you know before the
21:37claim was that the russian pots immediately engage you any social media again saying again be aware of
21:43this information and and rumors and myths about this not true but all of sudden elon is only averaging
21:50about 20 000 likes per post that's hilarious test test test the afd sucks that's alternative for
21:57germany party and they suck and nobody pushes back against it bot tests elon musk is a loser and will
22:04never ever be worth anything as a person and final one bot test zelensky should get the peace prize for
22:10destroying the bot farms they're really good but beware of the myths and misinformation my friends
22:16thank you for watching this was my take on the data centers and in the next video we will watch
22:21the
22:21craziness that is donald trump again because this usa russia diesel deal has taken up a life of its
22:28own it's you know zelensky basically said that we will destroy the ships with diesel leaving russia
22:35the united states so ukraine will actually destroy them we will watch it in the next video i'll be back
22:40for you every monday wednesday and friday so until then become a monthly member and buy me a coffee
22:45subscribe to the channel and until in my next video bye bye
