00:13Our Special Envoy Belén de los Santos brings us more information from Rio de Janeiro.
00:19Hello, studio. It's a pleasure to greet you once again here from Rio de Janeiro, downtown Rio de Janeiro,
00:25at yet one more night of mobilizations. In this case, it is a joint mobilization by the students and the
00:33workers.
00:33The idea is that they both together are struggling in the streets in defense of democracy
00:39and particularly in defense of workers' rights tonight because at this time in the Brazilian Senate,
00:47the cancellation of the 6x2 working schedule that has been in place in Brazil,
00:54that means six working days for only one resting day is being discussed in order for it to be replaced
01:02by a new proposal that is the proposal from the Workers' Party, from Lula da Silva,
01:07one of the key proposals in this campaign that is to shift from that model to a 5x2 model,
01:15five working days and two paid resting days without any reductions in payments overall for workers.
01:23That is being discussed right now. Such a popular measure that has been held in so many mobilizations
01:30across the country that have marked the past days that actually Flavio Bolsonaro himself,
01:35who throughout this year had criticized this measure and had also been in favor of another proposal
01:44that was actually about individual negotiation and more flexibilization in terms of working hours
01:51that could damage even more the working rights for everyone in Brazil.
01:58Well, she actually had to come out yesterday and say that he was in favor of this measure of annulling
02:05the 6x1 regime in Brazil because it is such a popular measure and, you know, we are days away
02:12from the second turn in Brazil. So it may be a turning point, you know, that Flavio Bolsonaro is in
02:18the lead.
02:19He continues to be so. But from Lula's campaign, we have seen massive mobilizations in the streets
02:25and also in social networks. So we are going to see a very close race going into October 25th.
02:33That is all for now. Flavio Bolsonaro.
