00:53Hey, Amy.
00:54Hey, Sean.
00:55What the hell have you been up to?
01:03It's a bit of a longer story.
01:04You look big.
01:06The first question is for you, John.
01:08You grew up playing with these toys.
01:11Sure did.
01:11And now you're starring in a movie about them.
01:15How do you feel about that?
01:16And what do you think that the kids inside of you could think about this version of your life?
01:24A great opener.
01:25So how do I, I'm a two-parter, actually a three-parter.
01:28I feel pretty darn good.
01:30It's pretty special to be able to use your imagination as a child and then evolve to a grown person
01:37and be like,
01:37wow, I get to do kind of the same thing, and that's my vocation.
01:41That's a pretty satisfying feeling.
01:43Making this movie with this team you see behind you and besides me was fantastic.
01:49And again, I just, I hope audiences dig it.
01:52And Jessica, you are coming back to movies after several years.
01:57What made you say yes, I mean, in this project?
02:00And what do you think this character has for you that makes you think why you become an actress?
02:10I just was excited to be a part of a fun action adventure, sort of fish out of water experience
02:18with this film, with this incredible cast.
02:20It was just a great opportunity to step back into that genre in a really cool and exciting way.
02:29I love this character because she's a really relatable person who does very kind of important work at home,
02:39but is not necessarily, I guess, championed in the world in a big way, right?
02:46These people that do these kinds of work, like EMTs and people who are working with people and working with
02:52machines.
02:52And she gets to be a superhero for us on, on some level for a period of time with her
03:00best friends.
03:01So it's really fun to play that kind of a person.
03:04And hopefully, you know, viewers are able to relate to all these characters because they're real people doing real jobs.
03:10So just happen to be thrown into a really unique situation.
03:15Another series that already released, that was a movie, now this is a series.
03:19Now we're going to go from the cinema to HBO and it's called War, Guerra.
03:24It's of the same creators of Hijack and Looping, very good series.
03:31And this series talks about a divorce.
03:34It's a divorce and how the lawyers do everything worse.
03:39It's britannic, so it's a system legal different to what we're used to do in the series.
04:19It's been the biggest divorce trial in British legal history.
04:24I have no idea who I've been married to.
04:27It's make it sound like I'm the villain.
04:30Let us not forget, you are the wronged party here.
04:33You are the wronged party here.
04:35I'm rather looking forward to it.
04:38You're in the papers every day, the stuff online.
04:41We can play dirty if we have to.
04:43If they play dirty, we will be total and utter.
04:47I'm very happy to talk to you both because I enjoyed this so much.
04:51One of the first things I felt was, OK, we're introduced to the archetypes, right?
04:56The tech mogul, the movie star.
04:57But very quickly, we meet the people behind that.
05:02And that must have been incredible as actors to discover, was it?
05:06Yeah.
05:08I mean, I think it's always fun to...
05:10I wanted to lean into the tropes of what people thought a movie star would be.
05:15And she's very self-involved and all of those things.
05:18But as the show progresses, I love seeing behind the armour that she puts up.
05:25And the same for you, right?
05:27Yeah.
05:28I mean, I love being sort of efficient and competent and great to deal with people.
05:34Everything that I'm not, you know, someone who could run an empire, someone who can get
05:39things done, someone who can dream and then have their dreams come a reality.
05:44That was a very new experience for me.
05:47Well, and his dreams become a reality.
05:51And then that's the reason for this war in a great way, right?
05:55This war between them.
05:56So is it kind of a be careful what would you wish for story?
06:00Well, no.
06:01Well, I think it just shows you how, you know, in the divorce situation with high stakes like this,
06:07that the beautiful things about your former relationship can become weapons used against you
06:13and can become the things you regret, you know, that you are forced to regret,
06:19even though they were actually the best things about your relationship.
06:24Love is, it's obviously, yes, an armament of war, isn't it, Sienna?
06:31Yeah.
06:32Yeah.
06:33There is a lot of love, I think, especially as the series progresses.
06:37You probably feel a little bit nostalgic and sad for what this couple were and where they've ended up.
06:44Right.
06:45The thing is, I like them both, even though they're both, like, going through maybe some of the worst moments.
06:50I really care for them.
06:51And I'm not rooting for either.
06:53I'm rooting for both of them.
06:55And that's quite complex.
06:57That's very complex.
06:58Yeah, that's the genius of George Kaye, the writer.
07:01I think he, that's really clever because, you know, he hasn't presented a villain or a hero.
07:08And you really do have to be rooting for both of them for the drama to work, really.
07:15That's it.
07:43And he just released the trailer for a couple of weeks.
07:46This is what he told us, like, a super-adelanto of what, without a doubt, we'll be talking about at
07:52the beginning of the next year.
08:06The Exorcist is also one of the scariest movies I've ever seen.
08:09And I think an iconic classic.
08:14I wasn't interested in trying to make a new version of The Exorcist.
08:19I very much wanted to take the core ideas, which I still find to be terrifying and very relevant today,
08:26and make something new.
08:27Make a completely kind of new and distinct and unique story within the same world.
08:36I didn't see any point in trying to go back and reboot or remake Friedkin's film.
08:42It's perfect.
08:44You know, why bother?
08:45But I really believed there was a lot in its core ideas that remained vital today.
08:50And then we could absolutely tell a very compelling story about it just needed to be an all-new story.
09:00And that was what I was hoping.
09:17This really is an interesting kind of balance between a lot of incredible and huge movie stars that came out
09:24to be part of this, who I've never worked with before.
09:26But for a lot of the other roles, I was very lucky that I got to kind of bring in
09:31my people, which, you know, on the one hand, selfishly helps me deal with the stress and pressure of making
09:40a film of this size, having people around who I know and trust and who I don't need to worry
09:49about kind of on the daily.
09:50But on the other hand, it was wonderful to kind of see how a lot of these newer actors kind
09:56of fit right into the vibe that we've been building for all of these years.
10:01How, like, Scarlett Johansson and John Leguizamo, Chiwetel Ejiofor, who I've now worked with twice and I do consider kind
10:08of part of our family.
10:11And, you know, Lawrence Fishburne, Diane Lane, coming in and kind of seeing the energy that this group has enjoyed
10:19for all of these years and snapping right into that and kind of bringing their own flavors to it, too.
10:26So it just felt like one very harmonious cast, to be honest, which is amazing when it was really neat
10:33for me to kind of see, you know, there's Scarlett Johansson doing scenes with Rahul Kohli and there's Chiwetel doing
10:41scenes with Lawrence Fishburne, Hamish Linklater.
10:45You know, it really kind of warmed my heart.
10:48But all in all, it was just a wonderful experience that kind of felt like an inevitable collision of two
10:53worlds.
10:56H.H. Holmes, America's first serial killer, said he was possessed by Satan.
11:02And the same goes for the Night Stalker, Jeffrey Dahmer, Bundy, Gacy, the Son of Sam.
11:12That you say that they can feel repetitive because you're so correct in this, even more than what's already in
11:19the Exorcist franchise.
11:21We're the seventh official Exorcist movie, but there are hundreds of unofficial Exorcist sequels that come out every year.
11:30I think The Exorcist is such a powerful film, it invented its own genre.
11:35And that genre has become as exhausted and exhausting as any genre like that tends to.
11:42So my whole mission with this was to try to do something completely different, was to try to do something
11:47that was vital and timely.
11:50Lawrence Fishburne, and I don't want to spoil much about his role in the film and how it manifests, is
11:57an expression of that desire.
11:59And it's very much kind of making a character that needs to carry an enormous amount of weight into the
12:07room with him from the first frame he's on screen.
12:09Así que como ven, más que suficiente información y seguiremos con estas entrevistas increíbles para cerrar el año, porque créanme,
12:19vienen cosas espectaculares.
12:21Gracias, soy Susana Moscatel, esto es M2, aquí nos vemos.
12:39Gracias, soy Susana Moscatel.
