Welcome to this Google Drawings tutorial. In Lesson 33, you will learn about Snap To options in Google Drawings. We’ll explore how snapping features can help position and align objects more precisely while creating diagrams and designs. These options can make it easier to maintain consistent spacing and create a clean, organized layout.

00:09So over here you can see that I have a blank canvas and if I were to go around and
00:14bring in
00:14a shape right here, I can move this freely wherever I want. But if I were to go around
00:19right here on the center, you can see that it actually snaps out. So it is snapping on to the
00:25exact center right here. So same thing happens with other shapes when I bring it as well. So I
00:31can go around, snap it out over here and you can see that it snaps to the edge of the
00:35shape right
00:35here to make sure that it has a given guideline right here as you can see. So this really helps
00:42you in aligning out things inside of Google drawing. But if you do not want that, then you
00:47can go around over here onto view and in snap to option, you can disable the guide option right
00:52here and you don't have the snap to option anymore. This works the same for the guides that you bring
00:58in from the ruler as well. So be it vertical or horizontal guide right here, you can go around
01:04right now it does not snap. But if I were to go around onto view onto snap to option, you
01:10can click
01:10on guide and what happens is that now it snaps on as you can see and when it snaps, the
01:16guide actually
01:17turns a little bit of red as you can see right here. So that is what can help you align
01:22out different
01:23guides as you can see right here. So it even gives you a hint of the distance between two objects
01:30to
01:30make sure that they are equal as well as you can see. Apart from guides, you can also snap things
01:36to
01:36grid. So I'm just going to go around over here and I'm going to go around, disable the guide right
01:41here
01:42and I'm going to go around and turn off the snap to four guides. So let's turn up the snap
01:47to four grid.
01:48So in that case, what happens is that you can see that now this does not actually move out very
01:54smoothly.
01:54It actually jumps out right here as you can see. So it is actually snapping out to the grid right
02:00here as you
02:00can see right here. So there's a grid right here. It snaps out to the grid. So let me just
02:05go around, zoom in
02:06right here. So you can see that it actually snaps out onto a particular grid right here. So you can
02:12see that it is actually going around snapping out right here. But if I were to go around on to
02:18and
02:19disable the grid right here, it's moves a move moves out slowly as you can see right here. But if
02:25you were
02:25to turn on snap to grid right here, then it's it's moves out just like this, as you can see
02:30right here.
02:31So that is how you can work around with the snap to option inside of the drawings to make sure
02:37that
02:38your objects snap to grids or your objects snap to guides to help you with alignment and can even
02:45turn them off as you saw right here. So if you guys learn something as always, and as always,
02:51please like comment, share and subscribe.
