The Upgrader centers on Ethan Cross, a worn-down auto mechanic struck by lightning who gains a unique power: anything he touches evolves into its ultimate form. Yet each use slowly turns his limbs into solid copper, a fatal physical cost.
Marcus Reed, a crippled Vietnam vet running a junkyard, witnesses Ethan’s power and becomes his loyal partner. Billionaire Victoria Kane, CEO of Nexus Corp, suffers a fatal genetic decay and covets Ethan’s ability to save herself.
