Inline skating equipment for Mandaue youth

Mandaue City students received inline skating equipment donated by Austrian skaters, with Olympian marathoner Mary Joy Tabal, head of the Mandaue City Sports Commission, joining the initiative.

The donation supports Cebu’s sports tourism drive, featuring Austrian champion Matthias Stelzmüller, founder of the global Skate the World movement. A 16-time Austrian national champion in short track speed skating, he has skated in more than 75 countries.

Road running and inline skating events, presented by TravelCare in partnership with the Hotel, Resort & Restaurant Association of Cebu Inc., will happen simultaneously in Mandaue City on Oct. 18.

The Infinity Run 2026 will feature 5K and 10K races, while the inline skating event will offer 21K and 42K distances.

00:00Welcome to the National Anthem of the National Anthem.
00:54On the island and around it, we already were very fortunate to see a lot.
00:59I went down to the whale sharks, of course, Cebu City, Lapo-Lapo City, you have beautiful beaches, but Bohol,
01:06I've been to Bohol, to the chocolate hills, of course.
01:09But to be honest, what makes Cebu and the Philippines that special in the world are the people.
01:16I've never been anywhere where people have been so nice, so I always enjoy coming back and to see everybody
01:23again.
01:23And it's also great to see so many skaters here today who already were there the first time three years
01:29ago.
01:30So it's a place to be, and I hope it's a future destination where many more tourists will come, and

02:42Actually, we, the deadline for registration is until September 30, and we were overwhelmed.
02:51We received a lot of requests to open again the registration, but we sincerely apologize because, as you can see,
02:58we pre-ordered the medals and the shirts.
03:01The medals, by the way, we really traveled, my husband and I, Charles, traveled to Shenzhen to order the medals.
03:10So these are very special for us.
03:12So it was, it is limited, limited edition, so we do apologize that we cannot extend the number of registrants.
03:22So as of the moment, we have 1,200, 1,200 runners, both for 5KM and 10KM.
03:31For the skating, we have 55, 55, 58, sorry, 58 skaters.
03:41So it's going to be fun, and because it's the first time, and we thank Matthias here and Andre for
03:48coordinating, and of course, organizing from Austria.
03:54We were communicating for this really to be materialized.
