Opposition parties of the INDIA bloc, including the Congress, TVK, VCK, CPIM, and MDMK, staged a joint demonstration in Chennai against the Election Commission's Special Intensive Revision exercise, demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. The TVK joined the street agitation alongside allies for the first time. VCK chief Thol Thirumavalavan claimed he had earlier advised DMK leader MK Stalin to switch constituencies away from Kolathur due to concerns over voter deletions under the revision. DMK has attributed electoral setbacks to the deletion of around one lakh voters in Kolathur, while alliance partners alleged democratic backsliding under the current regime.

00:00Now, we've been seeing anti-SIR protest demands for the resignation of CEC Gyanesh Kumar across the country.
00:08In Tamil Nadu, however, there's been one question for the last many days.
00:11Where is the TVK? Why haven't they been out on the streets?
00:14And while you've heard many comments against SIR, even from the TVK,
00:19so far, there hasn't been a word on CEC Gyanesh Kumar.
00:23That's changed today.
00:24When the TVK hit the streets for the first time in Chennai,
00:27along with their India Bloc allies, along with the Congress,
00:30demanding very clearly the removal of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
00:35The protest in Chennai was led by the Congress,
00:37and so there was TVK, VCK and the CPIM in attendance, the MDMK as well, as you can see there.
00:44VCK Chief Tol Thirma Vallivan also claimed that he had advised Stalin during the election
00:49to change constituencies, not to fight from Kolatur.
00:52But Stalin had dismissed concerns.
00:54Tol Thirma Vallivan says the reason he had advised Stalin is because of SIR.
00:59Remember, the DMK today is saying that it's because of SIR that Stalin lost
01:03because one lakh votes were deleted during the exercise in the Kolatur constituency.
01:08Questions over the impact of SIR have resurfaced.
01:11And the DMK, of course, wasn't part of this particular protest.
01:14They've made it very clear that they believe it's due to SIR that they've lost.
01:17The TVK is also anti-SIR, saying we'd have won more seats, if not for the exercise.
01:25India Alliance has called for a massive protest in the city of Chennai, and that's what you see.
01:29The colors of flags over here.
01:31MDMK, VCK, CPI, CPIM, Congress Party, and along with this, TVK is also participating for the first time.
01:38And the important aspect over here is that there you see, that is the Chief Election Commissioner,
01:42Gyanesh Kumar, with his mouth shut with the necks.
01:44That is the reason for this protest.
01:45This is about the SIR, Special Intensive Revision.
01:48And very clearly, all the netas are also present over here.
01:51You have Thiruma Walavan on this poster, and you also have the Chief Minister Vijay,
01:55who for the very first time, his party, is supporting it right now.
01:58In fact, over here, we can also see that all the leaders of this particular alliance have also come over
02:02here.
02:03They're also standing over there.
02:04We saw Manikam Tagore, Waiko, and other leaders also present at this particular location.
02:09This is a protest that has been brought in for, you know, against the anti-SIR.
02:14So that's Manikam Tagore, who's also present at this location.
02:16And you also have the various leaders, other party leaders as well.
02:20In fact, MD, MK's Waiko is also present over here.
02:24CPIM's Shanmugam is also present over here.
02:26This is how they are bringing in the solidarity against the SIR over here.
02:31Very clearly, they say that Chief Election Commissioner, Gyanesh Kumar, must resign.
02:35I have the same above here.
02:37I have the same above here.
02:40I have the same above here.
02:40So I have the same above here.
02:40Then I have been told...
02:41I've said that if you have to marry this situation, you're saying that you are not going away.
02:48You are saying, I'm saying that you are saying the State Association.
02:50I have the same over here.
02:50Then I have been told that.
02:52I have 12 years ago.
02:53These people have been asked about BLE.
02:56has been called correct impact.
02:58There is nothing else to do.
03:00I have been told.
03:02It's been said that it's been a statement that since the government is coming down there.
03:08So, about this protest over here, your participation.
03:17Narendra Modi government attempted to murder democracy.
03:30The darkness of authoritarianism has spread, particularly in the capital city of Delhi.
03:40So, Gyanesh Kumar has become the polian and agent of Narendra Modi.
03:48Now the student's revolution has broken out.
03:53It is unprecedented in Delhi. Not even during the emergency such a protest has happened.
04:01So, this will not stop. This will erupt, as Mr. Rahul Gandhi stated, after a small lull because of celebrations.
04:12This will erupt again and this will overthrow not only Gyanesh Kumar and Narendra Modi's regime also from the minds
04:25of the electorate in the ensuing parliament election.
04:28This is my observation.
