At 39, Li Xinyue has a one-night encounter with a young man, Cui Can, at her divorce party. Two months later, she discovers she's pregnant, only to learn that Cui Can is the project liaison. Upon hearing the news, Cui Can confesses to his family and proposes to her, leaving Li Xinyue to consider his offer. Meanwhile, her ex-husband, Shu Dabin, continues to pursue reconciliation, and to avoid his harassment, Li Xinyue agrees to a trial marriage with Cui Can.
