Apprentice dragon knight Eli Winters follows a strict code of protecting rather than killing, refusing to take part in dragon hunts. Ridiculed by his fellow knights, he now faces expulsion from the order. But Eli has kept a secret for twelve years. As a child, he once rescued an injured silver-scaled dragon deep in the forest. The dragon, Syrion, has never forgotten the one who saved his life.
