Spielerisch kombiniert Heathen das Schlaggefühl aus Vermintide mit Dark Messiah of Might and Magic.

Transkript
00:00Hello, Christopher Yabsley here, lead developer of Heathen, a first-person dungeon crawler that harkens back to the one-town,
00:09one-dungeon formula as seen in classics like Diablo 1.
00:13Battle monsters grow stronger and uncover powerful magical items.
00:18Seek refuge in the town of Saltgrave, restock your supplies, and then venture back into the keep.
00:25Each time, pushing a little deeper.
00:30So, as you can see, Heathen is a first-person ARPG, and that was really the catalyst for the whole
00:35idea, was we have a lot of ARPGs, but they're not top-down, so what would that experience look like
00:41in first-person?
00:44There you can see we picked up some cool new shoes, but we can't wear them, we're not strong enough
00:49for those shoes just yet.
00:52As you can see, Heathen has a robust dismemberment system.
00:55Uh, this was put into the game recently, and it has done a lot for making swords and axes real
01:00really good.
01:01Uh, we'll do more of this mechanic as well, deeper down in the dungeon, imagine fighting some many-limbed creature,
01:06and you have to chop it all apart, just to keep it from killing you.
01:12I also just put a single point into my Q ability there, which is Holy Diver, which allows me to
01:18dash forward and inflict, uh, Holy Damage, and that Holy Damage also scales off how much armor I have.
01:27The class that I'm playing is the Templar, which is, uh, mostly a defensive fighter, but he's able to turn
01:33that, uh, defensive miss into aggression, uh, as his build progresses.
01:40Very good for closing the distance, this pesky archer as well.
01:43Yeah, chop his head off.
01:45You can actually kick the heads as well, um, and if you're skillful enough, you can chop the head off
01:51a monster, kick it mid-air, and then kill another monster with that head.
02:02Very satisfying, every time.
02:08Putting all my points into strength, that's, that's the thing you do, right?
02:12And, uh, a single point into Smite, so this adds additional Holy Damage to my heavy attacks.
02:27Sometimes it's just better to kick those little guys.
02:30And you can notice that if you chop the heads off undead, sometimes they don't, they don't really mind that.
02:35It doesn't bother them.
02:38Some nice upgrades there.
02:40Put those on and, you know, let's be honest, uh, these games are about looking cool, who cares about the
02:44stats?
02:45And then once my inventory starts to fill up, I'll probably want to make a trip back to town.
02:50Um, there I'll sell my gear, identify my items, and restock on potions.
02:55If Heathen looks like the sort of game you'd be interested in, then please wishlist it on Steam.
02:59Uh, a demo will be dropping later in October.
03:02Thank you.
