01:31These murals tell us that just as in art, harmony is important in management, in business, in enterprise, harmonizing resources
01:41is important.
01:42So art is a very important medium for expression.
01:45There is an artist called Jijulal who has done most of his paintings.
01:49And you know Shala Bhanjikam, the Kerala style of art and architecture.
01:54We are talking about Keralium as a way of expressing the ethos of the medical school.
02:01Predicated on Saktiam, Nityam and Purnam.
02:03These are our values.
02:04Purnam, fulfillment comes from being true to your soil, being true to the context from where you arrive.
02:10Kerala is the context, its culture, its you know, the paintings depict a whole range of expressions of Kerala including
02:19Onam, including you know, the dance forms of Kerala.
02:22And so is it possible that we can integrate art and aesthetics in the, as a fusion in terms of
02:31the principles of enterprise and management?
02:34Art and aesthetics has a huge impact on how businessmen do business, how entrepreneurs create wealth.
02:42Without that harmony, wealth creation becomes a very noisy and ineffective affair.
02:51So we think in this institution we must lay our foundations on the nature of the soil from where the
02:59school has taken shape.
03:01Art and effort is an expression of the aspirations of the people of Kerala and this aspiration is held together
03:10not just in the buildings but in the architecture, in the way we harmonize the local with the global and
03:19our mission of globalizing Indian thought finds expression in this.
03:25The idea was ours but the expression was artist visual art, who is the one who actually did these paintings
03:32for us.
03:33I saw some of his paintings that look very authentic and original and the result was that we were able
03:39to get his talent on board and find space for him here on our walls.
03:48And so these roles were created by the local artist who has done a wonderful job as far as you
03:52can see.
