00:48and portal and it's not that
00:49don't misunderstand me I'm
00:52fine with players finally
00:53getting paid I wish it would have happened

01:03I just think that when it was
01:06instituted it was rushed

01:24there is something changed you

01:30talked to kids and not just the ones at Michigan
01:32I've talked to a bunch of them around college football
01:34that say I don't want to leave my school
01:36but but yeah I'm
01:38going to enter the portal as
01:40a negotiating tool I want
01:42more money from my school
01:44because if I don't it's irresponsible
01:46there's money to be had I'm going to enter the
01:48portal and if somebody
01:50else does offer me a lot more money
01:52then I will go you can
01:54trace all of this back to the same thing
01:56it's in excess everything
01:58has been taken in excess a
02:00college football playoff expansion was necessary the
02:02BCS was imperfect we all kind of get amnesia
02:04and some people even long for the days of the
02:06BCS it was not good enough
02:07a playoff was necessary four
02:10teams had some flaws I hate that we never
02:12even tried eight or six
02:14we just sped all the way to 12 and now
02:16but in a blink of an eye we're going to 24
02:18it's in excess the NIL stuff
02:20nobody had an issue well some
02:22did but I think most people are on board with the players getting
02:24paid make it a little bit of cheddar
02:26but it's gotten in excess
02:28with no guardrails transfers hey man your
02:30coach is going to leave you high and dry you have every right
02:32to transfer and go find a better opportunity
02:34but it's the constant
02:36five teams in five years it's in excess
02:38there was no reigning this in
02:40it just became a runaway train and I think the worst
02:42of it though is the product itself

02:48these top 10 matchups this weekend
02:49having some meaning it's going to take
02:52all of the meaning out of it

03:17they make it to the postseason
03:19does anybody believe that last year
03:21they deserve to be a postseason team
03:23no there's going to be teams that
03:25don't deserve to be in the postseason
03:27but they will because you've got to come up

03:29see the thing I'm missing here is
03:32first first off ratings are down 13%
03:34in college football
03:34I'm one of those people
03:36I'm watching less
03:37I simply am not attracted to what I think
03:39has become a watered-down product
03:41I don't think the quality of football
03:43is as good as it used to be

05:43or it was Georgia

05:51one or two teams
05:52that you thought
05:52was just
05:53miles ahead
05:54of other programs
05:55and then you expand it
05:58and you do that
05:59at the same time

06:12could win a national title
