00:00I'm Justin price writer and director of Omega just filming here with a crew and
00:05having people come in we had to be very very cautious we knew we wanted to build
00:09something that was large in scope and there's just no better place to film in
00:13Iceland these locations the picturesque landscape we just knew it was really
00:17integral to the character of Raven and her journey the story follows Raven after
00:22catastrophic tsunami she's exiled to a remote prison island where enormous
00:26creatures known as omegas Rome but when a new terror emerges Raven has to stop
00:31history from repeating itself even if it means sacrificing her chance at freedom
00:36working with the superstar like Franzi Schistler who's led big films with big
00:40names I mean you really just have to be on top of your game she just makes
00:44everything feel as authentic as possible because of her dynamic range and her
00:49ability to have physicality and also the emotional depth that she brings to the
00:53character of Raven it really just sparked my creativity in this film
00:58Ollie was bred from my love for the you non stump nose monkey which is my favorite
01:02animal my visual effects company star step zero visual effects it handled most of
01:07the visual effects for the film of Omega and I mean I'm proficient in 3ds max v-ray
01:13renders blender and just being able to work with the vertices the mesh and to see
01:18this creature come to life and and all the other creatures that we were able to
01:22develop over the course of this film it was just really really inspiring and
01:26exciting to see us integrate this version of hybrid filmmaking which is what we
01:32specialize in and that is the ability to take the practical to take our visual
01:37effects background and to integrate those two ideas alongside generative tools and
01:43it just makes the timeline proficiency just that much more stronger what I also
01:48love about what Franzi brings to the cast and the overall cast just energy is
01:53everyone's just silly and they they're just kids at heart Franzi just a big kid at
01:57heart and it just makes going to work so much fun right because we're building
02:02worlds I'm a world builder it's my favorite thing to do I love cyberpunk
02:05sci-fi dystopian fantasy I love films that that challenges your imagination and takes
02:11you somewhere transfixes you in those moments and helps you just find ways to do things that may be
02:17difficult to express in other ways and so it's just super exciting working with
02:22Caroline Hill the branch me Walker just to set the tone with these giant creatures
02:27and I cannot wait for you guys to see this in theaters October 29th and I just you
02:33know I can't wait to show you guys more
