00:02Here we go, Cole.
00:09A police escort.
00:11What the hell is this?
00:13A police escort for the WWE Champion.
00:18He has stroke, man.
00:20Talk about coming out in style, Hollywood WrestleMania.
00:23Of course he has stroke.
00:24Three nights ago on SmackDown, he had the police officers arrest John Cena.
00:28Tonight, arrest going into the ring.
00:30Well, that's JBL, baby.
00:31He can afford it.
00:32He's got the coin.
00:35This is big.
00:37This is JBL style.
00:38Leave it to JBL to have this type of an entrance at WrestleMania.
00:45I've never seen a motorcade entrance in all my years being in this industry.
00:51I swear to God, it's great.
00:53Well, history was made again here at WrestleMania.
00:56There's the champ.
00:58The longest running champion in ten years.
01:03Well, there's a little bit of a grin.
01:05I was gonna say no grin.
01:06A little grin by JBL all business tonight, though.
01:09What's this?
01:10What is this?
01:11What is this?
01:11What is this?
01:13Don't tell me this is money.
01:15Don't tell me this is money.
01:16Well, let me catch one.
01:17What is it?
01:18Give me one.
01:18Really?
01:19Tom, give me one of those.
01:20Give me that.
01:20It's money.
01:21It is money.
01:22It's $100.
01:23What is that?
01:24It's $100 all the way up.
01:26It's a $100 bill with JBL's face on it.
01:30He's sending confetti of money in JBL We Trust flying throughout the sold out
01:37staples center.
01:38Wait a minute.
01:39JBL just sent Orlando back in a limo.
01:41So he's coming out here by himself.
01:43I think JBL sending the United States champion.
01:48Coast Secretaries of Defense not accompanying the champion here either.
01:51So JBL going to go it alone here tonight for 242 days.
01:57The survivor, John Bradshaw Layfield has been champion.
02:00It was June 27th at the Great American Bash of last year that JBL won the title.
02:06Hey Cole, you talk about the Benjamins.
02:08Let's talk about the Bradshaws.
02:09They're floating out of the sky here.
02:11It's raining $100 Bradshaws.
02:13I love it.
02:14He should be on it.
02:15Bradshaw should be on $100 bill permanently.
02:17That George Benjamin.
02:18What's his name?
02:20He should be on it.
02:22It should be on JBL.
02:23George Benson.
02:24George Benson.
02:25He's not hitting mine.
02:26JBL is straight.
02:28There is the toothy grin of a confident champion, JBL, who has survived just about everything
02:36over the past eight months as champion.
02:40That's what makes JBL successful.
02:43Cole, JBL has victories over The Undertaker, Booker T, Big Show,
02:48Kurt Angle in matches like this.
02:51The Texas bull rope map over Eddie Guerrero.
02:55A triple threat match.
02:57A fatal four-way.
02:58The first ever barbed wire steel cage match.
03:02The champion, whether you like him or not, is a survivor.
03:06Well, the championship is, I don't even know if it's worthy of a man of this distinction.
03:11I mean, come on.
03:13JBL has overcome, you just admitted it, overcome so much adversity and in flying colors.
03:18Here he is, it's Brandon Huntsville, Brad Shawls, or JBL, but he's the champ.
03:36The following contest is scheduled for one fall, and it is for the WWE Championship.
03:44Coaching the ring, the challenger from West Newbury, Massachusetts.
03:49Weighing in at 248 pounds, John Cena.
03:55John Cena's new single is entitled The Time Is Now.
03:58Perhaps the time is now for the number one contender.
04:01This is the first time has in a month that John Cena has been able to get his hands on
04:07JBL.
04:08General manager, Theodore Long, did not allow any physicality,
04:12unless it was inside the auspices of the matchup, or John Cena would lose his title opportunity.
04:18And John Cena, he's got that look in his eye.
04:22He's focused, he's zoned in on JBL.
04:25But JBL, my man, he's a tough, tough arm race, tough to beat, I'm telling you right now.
04:33JBL has guaranteed, guaranteed victory tonight over John Cena.
04:39And that means, I mean, come on, you're talking about someone just oozing confidence,
04:44you guarantee victory when you get in a ring like a man that's like the doctor,
04:50it's like an office of John Cena, the bold statement by a bold successful JBL.
04:56JBL has always made good on his guarantees.
04:58Will he do it here tonight at WrestleMania?
05:02Or is he looking at the title for the very last time?
05:05And so passionate JBL is about the WWE Championship.
05:10And he's holding that, and kissed it, because he loves it.
05:15Nick Patrick holding up the prize.
05:17That is what this matchup is all about.
05:20That is what men in this business battle years for, to become WWE Champion.
05:26That's totally what it's about.
05:28And I myself came into the WWE with goals and aspirations, like many other wrestlers
05:33that come in here, to become that, the WWE Champion.
05:35Cena's getting a golden opportunity.
05:37JBL, like I said, is tough to beat.
05:39JBL versus John Cena, WWE Championship on the line.
05:44The champion weighs 290 pounds.
05:46He stands six foot six.
05:48John Cena 240 pounds, standing six foot one.
05:51Well, they both come from different walks of life.
05:54You know what I mean?
05:54John Cena is a kid from the streets, man.
05:57And JBL, hey, you know what?
05:59It's all about the bench.
06:00It's all about the money, JBL.
06:01A self-made millionaire.
06:02John Cena, in JBL's words, has no qualities, no class.
06:07He's not in the league of JBL.
06:09Should not represent SmackDown or the WWE as its champion.
06:13Well, well called upon the JBL, John Cena was a thug.
06:16Hence, the doctor of Thug Anomics.
06:18JBL whipped across the ring.
06:19There's the big shoulder knocked down by the champion.
06:21What does the champion need to do to ground John Cena here?
06:25There's a shoulder knocked down.
06:26Avoid that.
06:28Once John Cena gets momentum, he's tough.
06:30Wow, there's the champion.
06:32God, that was a, what?
06:33There's a shoulder knocked down by the former NFL player.
06:36That's right.
06:37JBL played for the Oakland Raiders.
06:39I'll tell you what, and right there, it looked like his football background came through.
06:42Good throttle there.
06:44With that shoulder block and then that big punch to the face.
06:48JBL is all about himself.
06:50Cares about no one else.
06:51For John Cena, it's all about being a fan when he grew up.
06:55About being a part of all this and now experiencing the grand stage
06:59of WrestleMania.
07:00Ripped across the ring.
07:01JBL, clubbing blow.
07:04Clubbing, big time clubbing blow.
07:07And John Cena struggling to get up.
07:08I think he's still feeling the effects of that first boot that he got earlier,
07:12at the beginning of this match, that he ran into Cena.
07:15Another right hand by JBL.
07:17John Cena became the number one contender at No Way Out when he eliminated Kurt Angle
07:20in the finals of a grueling eight man tournament.
07:25Well, now, right out of the box, if you don't warm up, the ball breaking neck breaker.
07:30John Cena is behind the eight ball at the hands of JBL with his super strong style.
07:36He has a smash man style of JBL.
07:39Guys, this is vintage JBL.
07:41Another neck breaker.
07:43He'll finish this match up early if he can.
07:45He'll wear you down.
07:46Here we go.
07:47Here's the cover.
07:48And a kick out.
07:49And see, JBL hit that swing and neck break and knew it was effective.
07:53Didn't go to something else.
07:55Went back to the hold that work, that swing and neck break.
07:59That's what makes him so successful in that squad, Sergeant.
08:02And JBL using the top rope.
08:04And we got a five count to break that.
08:06You might as well utilize it as long as you can.
08:08And you talked about this earlier, partner, how much being champion means to a man with the ego of JBL.
08:13He'll do anything he can to hold that title, including this.
08:16One, two, three, four.
08:17He put a lot of intensity on JBL's face.
08:19Get him off the rope.
08:20Trying to rearrange the facial area of John Cena.
08:24One, two, three, four.
08:25That's a little disqualifying here.
08:28It's all the intensity and the confidence in the eyes of the champion earlier on tonight
08:32when he had the run in with Raw's World Heavyweight Champion, Triple H.
08:36Look at this, go!
08:37John Cena hung up on the second rope.
08:39And the champion is dismantling the challenger, John Cena.
08:44I mean, you've gotta talk about the experience factor here, Taz, and how much more experience
08:48JBL has over Cena.
08:51Absolutely, and JBL will use that to his advantage.
08:55But John Cena's gutsy.
08:56He's got fight.
08:58And he's fighting back right now.
09:00Look at this, he's firing back hard.
09:01We've seen John Cena with a guts and hug of resilience before.
09:05And there's a boot to the face of the champion.
09:08You can never count Cena out.
09:09Watch out, watch out, watch out, look at this.
09:10Splitting John Cena with a spine buster.
09:13One step ahead of Cena.
09:15JBL is one step ahead of him.
09:18There's the sign of the Raw and Raw's Day, you see that?
09:21I'm telling you, Cole, the way I see this, the beginning of this match, uh-oh, let me go!
09:24Shoulders down, kick out!
09:25The second move of the match, I believe, JBL picked his boot up as Cena ran in.
09:31And I'm telling you, I think he caught Cena on the button with that thing.
09:33Cena's not himself here.
09:34He's hurting.
09:35We've called a number of JBL championship matches over the past eight months.
09:40Uh-oh, look at this, look at this.
09:41Another neck breaker working on the neck of Cena.
09:43And I don't believe I've ever seen the champion as focused as he is here tonight.
09:48Well, here we go, here we go.
09:48Fears of cover shoulders, Dan Cena has to kick out again.
09:51But Cole, I think JBL knows that John Cena is a serious threat to the WWE Championship that JBL holds
09:59so passionately.
10:01But again, as I mentioned earlier- Man, look at this.
10:03This is vintage John Cena just stomping away.
10:07Just beating up, man, just disrespecting him.
10:10Firing back with the right hand.
10:12Firing back in a big way.
10:14And the champion to get on the attack.
10:17JBL keeping that pressure on Cena.
10:19That's what you've got.
10:21What a clothesline by the brawler.
10:25JBL knocking the wind out of John Cena.
10:28And this has been all champion since the get-go.
10:32Every time Cena tries to battle back, the champion knocks him back down.
10:37Well, JBL will not allow John Cena to get momentum going.
10:43And a straight forearm nearly knocks Cena's head off.
10:47I see a short arm clothesline.
10:48Here's the cover, and John Cena did all he could do just to get his leg on the bottom rope.
10:55John Cena got leveled with that short arm clothesline, which is a straight clothesline,
11:00but you pull a man in with the opposite hand into the force of the clothesline.
11:04Very, very painful move.
11:07Snap there, take down by JBL.
11:12JBL's got such a nasty disposition as he drove his forearm in the spine.
11:18I mean, JBL's having a good time now.
11:19He's having a good time tonight.
11:22He's got Cena right where he wants him.
11:24And here's the favorite hold.
11:26The champion with the challenge in the center of the ring.
11:28John Cena doing all he can to scratch, to claw his way out of this.
11:32Well, John Cena might go out, he might get choked out here.
11:35John Cena came here determined to be champion, but it does not look good for
11:39the challenger.
11:41Stretching to the rope, Bradshaw pulls him back to the center of the ring.
11:45JBL has so much height, the height advantage of John Cena.
11:48And he's putting all his weight on the back of the neck as he got that choke in there,
11:52that sleeper hold.
11:53It's locked in now.
11:54Well, it's it, Cena might be going away here.
11:56Cena's in the center of the ring with nowhere to go.
11:58And it's just a matter of moments, perhaps.
12:00Here's me the right thing, trying to keep his lower body away.
12:04Man, that's nasty, he's caught hard here and is sleeping.
12:08Uh-oh, John Cena out of desperation.
12:12Unfortunately, Cena can't follow up.
12:15Of course, he's just been beat on here by the rough and rugged JBL.
12:20You gotta admit, the champion had a tremendous game plan coming into this matchup.
12:25Do not allow John Cena to get on a roll.
12:28Don't let him get that momentum going.
12:29Well, Cole, thus far, it's paid off.
12:31It has.
12:32I mean, you can't deny.
12:34Cena back to his feet, ducks underneath the clothesline.
12:38John Cena, and knocked down center of the ring.
12:40And this here could be the turning point of the matchup, at least for John Cena.
12:44If John Cena can make it to his feet first here, somehow he may shift the momentum.
12:49Well, John Cena got a lot of that clothesline, but let's not forget that the fatigue that
12:54John Cena's gotta have and the pain that he's in for the past several minutes of getting beat up.
12:59But we've seen Cena suck it up before.
13:01Remember, he was the last superstar to be eliminated in the Royal Rumble back in January.
13:06And Cena battles back with the rights.
13:07And another one.
13:08And the champion of the shorts and whipping Cena through the second rope.
13:13But again, the experience.
13:14Yeah, great leverage move right there.
13:15And now JBL coming right out after John Cena.
13:19And a neck breaker again outside the ring.
13:22One.
13:22That's the third neck breaker of the match.
13:25Two.
13:25Better watch the count out here.
13:26And you soften your opponent up, perhaps, for the clothesline from hell.
13:29Four.
13:30That's a good point.
13:31Jeffrey Nick Patrick's up to five, I believe.
13:35Six.
13:36Got to get him in the ring, there you go, now, now, break the count.
13:39Seven.
13:39Following is the champion, challenges in trouble.
13:41And Bradshaw quickly hooks the leg, Cena just kicks out.
13:45And a very confident champion, JBL.
13:51I gotta tell you though, Cole, John Cena showing his attest to fall,
13:54that he's kicking out, he's showing his toughness as you pointed out.
13:57We've seen that in him in the past.
13:59Come on, John Cena made his way through an eight-day tournament just to get this opportunity.
14:04He's not gonna let it go by the wayside.
14:05That quickly.
14:07Look at this now, JBL's setting up Cena there.
14:10But if this punishment continues, JBL's quotation may be right,
14:15that John Cena is not in his league.
14:18No, this is a big hit, watch out.
14:20The champion on the second rope.
14:23Cena's in trouble here.
14:24He's getting into the top rope.
14:25Super.
14:27And ladies and gentlemen, that could be it, if the champion can capitalize.
14:33As the champion, JBL has been working on the neck and back of John Cena.
14:39And Cena, he's grabbing his hand.
14:41He might have lost, got some numbness in there.
14:43He's trying to get some feeling back in that arm.
14:46Bradshaw rolling Cena over.
14:47The champion is hitting the cover.
14:49He's got him!
14:50And again, Cena kicks out.
14:52And he's kicking out with some authority.
14:54And you just see Bradshaw shake his head there, frustration perhaps on his face,
14:59as the champion looks to see what he has to do to put the challenger away.
15:03I mean, how many times has JBL unsuccessfully went for a big cover and
15:08not get the victory hit?
15:09But look at, JBL's up on the top!
15:11And he's right there!
15:12Here's the challenger on the Snoop Slam, catching JBL at a pure instinct in midair.
15:18I'll tell you what, that's usually not something you see JBL do.
15:21That's uncharacteristic of him.
15:24A big jumble jet up there, but JBL, I'm sorry,
15:27John Cena does not have the wherewithal to get a cover on JBL.
15:31Can John Cena take advantage here?
15:34There's been a number of points in the matchup, but Cena has had an opportunity,
15:37has had an opening, and Bradshaw has slammed the window shut, and there's an elbow.
15:42And Cena with the right hand, and again, that's the champion's right.
15:45And here comes Cena.
15:47He's bringing those punches, nice headbuck there.
15:49John Cena with the top line knocks the champion down.
15:52And the kid from West Newberry, Massachusetts, is beginning to feel it here.
15:57Whoa, whoa, whoa!
15:57Big back body drop goes the champion.
15:59What the hell?
16:00Cena through point stands, the ball!
16:01Attacked by the former college football star.
16:04You're gonna be in trouble, and look at this kid, Cena!
16:07Big hip toss, wow!
16:09I don't want to get something!
16:10Look at Cena, fire it up!
16:13Look at this, the side slam!
16:16Where did Cena get this from?
16:24You can't see me!
16:27You heard it, you can't see me!
16:30Five-knuckle shuffles right there!
16:33Good job, Cena!
16:33And the champion is really-
16:38Cena now pumping it up!
16:40Watch the champ go!
16:43And Cena walked into it!
16:44Here he is!
16:45Punch out from hell!
16:46Cena ducked underneath it!
16:47Whoa, whoa!
16:48Here he comes!
16:49He got him!
16:50No way!
16:50He got him!
16:51F.U., F.U., the cover!
16:53One, two, three!
16:56Cena is the champion!
16:58Man!
17:00Here is your winner, and the new WWE Champion,
17:08Cena!
17:11I can't believe it!
17:12Where did that come from?
17:13Exactly!
17:14What the hell?
17:15JVM went for the clothesline from hell, Cena countered, and now he's gonna celebrate!
17:21We gotta go to WWE Champion!
17:23Out of nowhere!
17:24What a true battler John Cena is!
17:28He's a comeback kid, and talk about his heart and his soul!
17:34I don't think JVL's gonna come out, there's no way like that!
17:40JVL was setting feet up for the clothesline from hell, and
17:44John Cena had the wherewithal to duck underneath it and catch the champion!
17:50All we gotta do, WWE Champion, in John Cena!
17:55I cannot believe it!
17:58Wow!
17:58This is how we did it!
18:04He did it, man!
18:06Let's take another look at the shocking final moment of the matchup!
18:12Left the clothesline from hell, hits the fighters down into that ass, Drew!
18:15I don't think he's peeling off, but he does it!
18:18Man, he tries him!
18:19One, two, three, makes history!
18:21Let's take a look at John Cena's face!
18:24He too shocked!
18:26Congratulations, John Cena!
18:28Wow!
18:28What an elation, a celebration, and I guess that JVL is no longer in wrestling God.
18:35Ladies and gentlemen, the time is indeed now for
18:40the new WWE Champion, John Cena!
19:01We will be training!
